Happy VD to you to Grandpa! I got all warm and toasty looking at that roaring fire (or maybe that's the STD...).
Is it too late to do any supercropping of those center stems? They're a head taller than the ones on the outside.

I’ve thought about it, but decided to just let em go. I am noticing the beginnings of some bleaching on the tops. I’ve seen pictures and read about it before, but I’ve never seen it with my own eyes. I think it’s still smokable right?
Light stress can cause foxtailing. Not sure how it affects the smokeability though. Since you have a couple of tall ones why not supercrop one of them and see how they differ?

Good idea! But, I was talking about the bleaching not foxtailing. I’m sure you’ve seen pictures of it. Next time I go down there I’ll try to remember to snap one.
It's too early for foxtailing, but they aren't getting any further away from the lights as they age!

Hey GT about 5 years ago I had a friend that produced some great OG Kush and Kings Kush. It was the first real plants I had ever seen in my life. He ran 2- 1000w hps air cooled hoods in an open room. He had 8” exhaust I think 2 of them I’m not sure. I know he had his tops about 3” from his glass, most of the top colas had a gnarly bleached white look. Looked blonde. I saw it during the cut, and he told me the lights bleached the tops where they got too close. Other than that one experience I know nothing on the subject haha.

What is your temp and humidity in the grow area? After seeing that thermometer I am curious. Those dam girls got some legs.

Here's some pictures of what I'm talking about. Not foxtails. This is bleaching because of the LEDs. Hard to see, but the really white spots are completely covered in trichs too.
I snapped the biggest ones over. We'll see what happens, compared to the rest of them.
LOL! No, that was inside my shop. My grow is separated. In the grow rooms, RH stays between 40-65%, and temps are normally between 64F (lights out) and 78 (lights on).
Like I said, it's too early for foxtails, but if the leaves are already bleaching it's telling you they are too close to the lights. It's not going to improve, only get worse.

Yea you need to dim or raise those bad boys.. they are ruining your tops man. Buds getting bleached out like that ruins the potency. Of the entire bud it is attached to not just that top part. The top part turning all white will have to be discarded, its completely useless. You can still save em though, plenty of time left. Just those few tall ones anyway so nothing to worry about... id be worried though lol. .

Thanks! Good info. I’m going to raise the lights slightly. I guess there’s more to this LED growing than I thought. The only issue I had with HPS was the electric bill.
Personally, I'd supercrop all the tall ones and not lessen the light to the the lower ones. Even the canopy rather than raise the lights.

These cobs are unlike anything ive grown with. Ive used hps and blurple. One grow i had a plant bleached all the way top to bottom. So far with graytails help no bleaching this grow. Hope it stays like that. Its incredible how intense these lights are and they use so much less power.
