Grandpa Tokin’s Perpetual

Humidity sucks balls in my flower room. RH is continually climbing >80% overnight but the temperature is staying too low to kick on the fan. I suppose I need a different controller. Weird weather. I may have some weird looking buds too. Oh well, the struggle never ends.

On a good note, tiny root nubs are forming on two more of the cuts I took, so both strains (GG4 & TC) will live on and someone gets a nice present too. :cheesygrinsmiley: I’m really cutting this grow close though. I may run out of weed before these are done...doh! That’s called the 4-P’s: piss-poor-prior-planning.:bravo:

RH may be the reason I'm sticking with HPS. We need the heat!

When my rh gets too high at night, I try to add an extra clip on fan or sometimes two fans to at least keep the air flowing over and around the buds to help prevent any bud rot. And if you cannot turn fan on fully because of temps getting too low, you can maybe try adding g a speed controller to the extraction fan and set it on low. Will still drop temps, but not as much.
I'd much rather have it a little cooler at night, than too humid and chance bud rot and PM.
Just my two cents...
Hope you all are having a great weekend!

If humidity is getting too high get a dehumidifier

A dehumidifier costs too much to run. I use it as a last resort during mid to late flower. During veg and early flower I don't worry too much. The exhaust fan can usually beat it down to below 80%. During mid to late flower I need it below 60%, and prefer the humidity to be lower. Higher temperatures allow the plants to withstand the higher humidity. Late summer / early fall is when I have the most problems with excessive temperature and humidity. I try to start my plants then for harvest early in the following year.

Might cost more to run humidifier, but if improves your yield quality abd quantity id say its a fair trade. Or maybe try a smaller dehumidifer. 80% humidity is extremely high for flower. Seems running a dehumidifier for 5 or 6 weeks of flower would be worth while. Or as you said try to avoid flowering during thise peak times where humidity is extremely high

VPD charts can help balance humidity and temperature.

I like my ac infinity exhaust fan because it can kick on if the temp or humidity is too high. I also have a dehumidifier for the room my tent is in but I haven't ran it yet. Congrats on more signs of roots!

I normally don’t have too extreme temperature and humidity problems, but this time it seems to want to mess with me. I’ll figure it out...or not, and smoke Mexican brick weed! Screw that! I’ll figure it out!:headbanger:

I do keep an oscillating fan on 24 hours so there is plenty of movement. I’ll put it on a manual speed controller for this evening and see if I can adjust it that way. I spent too much cash on these damn LEDs to go back to HPS. Maybe. I appreciate all the help though!

Your rosin always looks so tasty! Even your roots seem to be top quality! :adore:

$600 total for tests.
Have you looked into home testing devices? I'd be willing to spend up to $1,000 for one, but everything I've looked at seems like crap once you dig into the details and read the reviews.

Interesting. I thought you were just testing for your own personal info. Didn't realize it was for something "official". :Namaste:
