Grandpa Likes To Squeeze Stuff: Solventless Extracts, Rosin, Pressed Here!

What I have is a link to Oldbear's spreadsheet, which was designed to be used for buds but you can work it with rosin, as long as you have an idea of the THC % of the rosin. I'll link it here but sometimes it gets removed by the management as it links to a Google spreadsheet. We'll see if I get slapped:

Download and save as an Excel file on your computer.

Thank you!

8 days ago I took one branch from the Tangie that I fully harvested two days ago. No flush, no cure, and just barely dried. One lower branch turned out to be 11.2 grams dried and I got a 22.8% return with 2.56 grams. I am so pleasantly surprised I just may poop myself... :slide:
If it tastes good you may discover that flushing plants is a myth ;). Though you still may need to cure it...no clue about rosin.

I’m almost convinced bud. I’ve been very skeptical about NOT flushing with DWC. I’m never wrong... well...okay, I was wrong once, but I got rid of her.

LOL!

This pdf is a research study done specifically in hydro. The flushing info starts on page 70 and states: "There were no significant differences between any of the treatments within each flower cycle." The charts follow.

There was no statistical difference in the nutrient levels in the buds after two weeks of flushing. In a 100% nutrient-free environment for two weeks before harvest, the dried buds had the same levels of N, S, P, K, Mg, and Ca as the buds that were fed.

In other news!

Outfreakingstanding! Grandpa is a happy camper. Smells like a heavy orange dankness with a hint of lemon juice. I’ll definitely hit this stuff all day long. Enjoy!

This stuff is pretty good! Not gonna lie.

Interesting read so far. Might be hard for me to change, but I’m going to give it a shot. I’m fairly convinced it makes no difference with the rosin. That’s with decently grown weed naturally. Crap weed is crap weed no matter how you flush...or don’t flush.

That’s the good stuff right there GT. I can’t get enough of the Tangie rosin either that strain is made for squeezing. I watched a few videos on YouTube a while back of professional rosin makers that said for best results squeeze as soon as it’s dried but still sticky. I’m going to use my trim to make some ice hash and then press it into live rosin. Should be a real treat. Anybody have any experience pressing hash? Like what micron bags work best?

The article @BobbyZ posted a few pages back discussed the same. I think they recommend 79% RH for squeezing. 69% for smoking bud. The best time is right after drying. I’m interested to see if it gets any better as it cures. I’m guessing the longer you can hang on to the moisture of the bud the better. Right after drying seems pretty darn good to me. I’m happy with that.

I'm looking to use the MB to make some pain relief oils and creams if possible. I've seen a few good recipes.

The MB works well.

Pre-Freeze Product

The best rosin extraction comes from frozen product. Partially this helps with preserving flower and the trichomes from break down. This preserves the quality and amount of the terpenes.

Ideally, freshly trimmed cannabis should be frozen after collection without drying, then within a 24-36 hour range should be extracted.

Even if cannabis comes pre-dried, freezing before extraction will help prevent certain components which are water soluble from entering.
