Grandpa Likes To Squeeze Stuff: Solventless Extracts, Rosin, Pressed Here!

I think anything you can enjoy in moderation isn't addicting for you. As I recall from my psych classes in college (many moons ago), the two types of addiction are physical (nicotine, heroin) and psychological. Physical addictions will show actual physiological signs of withdrawal, and psychological addictions will have emotional withdrawal symptoms. The physical withdrawal symptoms of psychological addictions will tend to be emotionally based.

And both of those are very individual as we've seen here. There are folks who quit nicotine cold turkey and never look back. Others have great difficulty giving up cannabis, or gambling...
100% !!! The path is different for everyone. Accepting your path is not normally the hard part. It is finding it.

Hehe I agree with both of you. But I can't lie and say I don't have physical withdrawals from weed. I'm a chronic habitual smoker so the physical could be caused by emotional addiction. But lack of appetite and having to literally force myself to drink fluids when I don't smoke doesn't seem as a psychological response. The lack of sleep too lol.

Also had to deal with the gambling demons.... Luckily there are great tools to help :)

I've heard good things about hypnosis to help with addiction. I might even give that a go.

I also FORGOT to mention that if you choose to smoke extra cannabis, you'll just forget about everything else in life and poof...you have quit! Taaadaaaa

Also I'm already smoking to try forget and beat anxiety and depression. I can't keep expecting cannabis to take all the load haha

One of the nifty things nicotine does in the human body is to displace/suppress normal production of a nicotine-like neurotransmitter.

At least part of the jangled disorientation of your first few days without cigarettes is the body trying to get neurotransmitters back into production.

You can use vitamin B3 (niacin/nicotinic acid) supplements to help you over the physical hump for the first week or so.

Ooo that's good to know. I was planning on patches or something. We can get free help to stop smoking in UK so might aswell take it :)

Cessation vs replacement is a personal choice. The thing about both approaches is harm reduction.

The gum has higher coincidence of oral cancer associated. The transdermal patches routinely seem to induce/highlight lucid nightmares. Vaping would be realistic if there were a healthy carrier - glycols and glycerine are problematic.

If you choose replacement over cessation I highly recommend the transdermal patches and not to wear them at night. This gives you a serum nicotine concentration crash in the mornings, but hey you can’t have everything. (Where, As Steve Wight asked, would you put it?)

Hmm I'm not sure how much choice I'd get on the free options. However I don't fancy the gum so won't be using that. One of the reasons I like weed is to control my night terrors so the idea of having worse nightmares doesn't sound like fun at all. I'll definitely have to look into the patches like you said. And try make sure I don't have them on at night! :)

Thank you all for helping me with this.

Best of luck! :circle-of-love:
It gets easier more quickly than you might think.

Now. I’m not sure if Grampa would hit this but I am. It’s fine. Yet to find a down side.

(Not maths, Shed, just numbers ;) )

Nice! I like that you have a pressure gauge. I am a little bummed that I don't have one. Do you have a standard pressure you use or does it depend on the strain?

im still learning done a 100 plus presses of 10-12 grams..

i just press up to 6500 psi gue comes out b4 this 4500 starts maybe less.. 5000 5500 it pouring rosin..

at the very end i take it up a bit higher just hoping puts out some more gue..

i find the time is very important to keep short .. otherwise u start to cook rosin hard and will
fly off paper in hard chunks.. flys..

2mins 45 seconds plenty .. keep under a 1000 psi 1st min.. and your temp u can play with too im using 190

cheers

I've never smoked rosin. I've smoked weed for around 15 years but mainly just joints. When I first started would use alot of homemade bongs but that was mainly necessary because we were poor teenagers and couldn't afford tobacco. Hehe we've all been there I'm sure :)

Im starting to notice that smoking is having adverse effects and am planning to move to tobacco less smoking in the next year. I'm very out of the loop so I just looked at what was good 10 year ago in the volcano vaporiser. It's expensive but the ability to enjoy a vapour bag at my own please appeals to me. (as I'm used to smoking joints over time few drags every now and then especially when gaming etc) however I know you can use extracts in vape pens and I've seen the newer products especially seem to care about the terpines aswell as strength. Again though we have zero availability in UK for this.

I know I have to change my habits with tobacco. I do enjoy tobacco personally but know how bad it is for you. I was planning on cutting tobacco completely and maybe enjoying a good cigar once a week as a treat :)

Anyway any thoughts on how to transition from Weed and tobacco joints to not using tobacco is appreciated.

I should also say I'm not really into blunts but as I'm about to crop this weekend I think I will get some wraps and give it a try. (I know the wrap is tobacco but I think it might be a good stepping point into smoking pure weed blunts with papers in the future.

I dunno sorry for rambling. Had a family friend die of cancer recently from smoking and its made me reevaluate things a bit.
sorry for your loss..

to me 10 percent is pretty good ..

ive never seen or done 20 % must be a rare pipe dream and marketing tool

have seend 15% best..

11 12 % pretty .. good the age of the flower make s the diffence

and i think 20 % is fresher flower with a bit more water...

vs the 6 week old flower making 10%

which is better tasting than fresh uncured flower.. must be atlest 10 14 days dry

u make a big bloody mess if u press a fresh cut bud..

dab press store amazon.. they got good stuff to press with .. easy ..

safe rosin no solvent.. no fire no fumegations no blow up house and legal.. making oil i think could be illegal in canada at home.. better ask lawyer.. making rosin is legal... u just pressing

cheers

@deltadubie I made a new batch of citric acid spray this morning so I measured my soap. I don't have anything that will really accurately measure tiny amounts, but I would say I'm just under 1ml soap for 1500ml of water. Hope that helps!
So like a pipette amount? Hmmm...
