Grandpa Likes To Squeeze Stuff: Solventless Extracts, Rosin, Pressed Here!

That’s awesome haha ! .. I’m glad I’m not alone . That really stung!
I looked for that little nug for longer than I will admit . Stay lit ! :ganjamon: :green_heart: :thumb:

I'm half way through a squishing session myself. The pucks were formed yesterday for 1/2 lb of dried flower. It's going a lot faster now that I've got the procedures down. While I squish 1/2 oz, I'm collecting from the previous squish. I'm using a pair of tweezers to lift the spent pucks off of the parchment. It keeps the rosin off of my hands. :cheesygrinsmiley:

I use tweezers myself. It helps...I’ve had them slide on the parchment before, as I remove from the plates, and they slide into the rosin, etc. Anyway, I know the deal. I wish I was there to help...help you consume that stuff...

If you show up within the next year, I should still have some. I stopped growing for now as I have over 150gm of rosin in the freezer.

@grampa_tokin How do you get from parchment paper to the last photo on post 4863?
I get scraping off the parchment paper, but how do you get to the one, single glob? Heat it up?

Use a small silicone mat to pull it off of your collection tool. You can do this several times before you need to clear it. I had the rosin from that 1/2 lb squish session on a piece about 4" square. Just fold the mat over the tool and pull the rosin off. For the last pull, let the mat heat between your fingers and you only leave a very thin layer on your tool.

You can then fold over the mat and shape the rosin however you want.

That’s it exactly! I have a video of it somewhere in the bowls of this journal.

Is anyone interested in a magnetic stirrer / hot plate for decarbing rosin and mixing capsule contents? My wife is tired of me using kitchen equipment to do this so I'm looking at options. I've decided to start with a low cost unit, and upgrade it. The good ones cost too much. This is what I ordered:

full

YaeCCC Digital Hotplate Magnetic Stirrer with Heating Plate

They are currently on sale for $80 CAD / $58 USD. The problem with it is the temperature is limited to 99.9°C / 212°F. That's too low for decarbing, so I'm looking at changing out the controller with an InkBird. I should be able to do this for less than a total cost of $150 CAD / $110 USD. If it doesn't work, I can return it to Amazon.

If there's any interest, I'll post the conversion instructions.

Please post the surgical procedure. Sounds like something I could tackle with instructions. Decent price too.

OK. It will take a month or so before it's here. It's better to know in advance so I don't have to roll it back and do it again. :cheesygrinsmiley:
