Grandpa Likes To Squeeze Stuff: Solventless Extracts, Rosin, Pressed Here!

Hi grandpa, i love your thread and i'm sorta brain dead from endless reading lol. I took a break and came back to read some more. There's still some catching up for me to do to get up to speed.

I have a quick question if you or others don't mind answering... Is the pressure gauge a must have?

Think i'm almost ready to pull the trigger on 12 ton model and use the 10% off on dabpress website. It appears they still have 12 ton in stock but the pump isn't. I thought i could run over to harbor freight and purchase this

harborfrieght.png

Personally i don't really need the extra goodies but i realize they could be useful for many things-. In my job - steel fabrication, employees use 10 ton pump frequently and none of our 10 ton's have a gauge. Everything is done by the feel. We do learn quick from experience of over pumping (breaking tack, welds, structure etc) and we do well without the gauge. So i was thinking that idea/experience could also apply for pressing flower. Once i do a few blow outs, i should know/feel just about where the threshold would be. Save me some $$ lol

Thanks every one and Happy pressin! Cannot wait for my turn to experience this fun and adventure lol

I’ve been saying I’m going to get a gauge, but never have. I certainly see the benefits, but I go by feel. I’m so used to my rig now that it would be a waste of money for me. With your experience on a press I doubt you’ll have any issues.

This goes for everyone, no need to read this whole thread, if you got questions throw them down. There are some really smart dudes here.

Thanks grandpa and hippie. :) I think i made a really good score just now a few moments ago. I was looking around online some more and came across a good deal. 60 bucks plus shipping. I had to act fast because it was the only item i saw online available for a cheap price. I just submitted a paypal payment for that pump and soon i'm going to submit a order / payment to dabpress.

photo of pump i just placed a payment on.

Now it's time for me to shop for some things needed for my first pressing and many more presses. Molds, bags, tools, parchments etc.. and I hope to receive everything here in time for my upcoming harvest in few weeks.

Do some of you have preferences on certain tools, bags, molds, parchments over the other brands/make? I ask because I don't want to make the mistake of buying something when i shoulda bought something else. :nomo:

So far i've got
- a full roll of regular parchment at home.
- silicone containers
- tools . Think i have some old pottery sculpture tools laying somewhere up in the storage. If i can't find it, i might end up with something cheap off the zon.

Now i need to get rosin filters.
I have picked Rosin filter mold pack combo #3 on dabpress to add on my shopping cart with 12ton press. The filter combo should get me going on a good start. I found the rosin bags on amazon and saw that i could buy a roll instead of the individual bags in packages. There's a 120 micron 2x200 roll for 30 bucks. I'm sure i'm going to find a bunch of kief after trimming party so i thought i might as well add those 25 micron and 37 micron rolls in the shopping cart too.

Edited my comment on lack of relevance haha I'm a little too blazed. Your set up sounds legit. I am looking forward to answers on bags for keif.
I use the dabpress cylinder pre press no bags and Reynolds parchment for freshly cured flower and love the results so far on my 6 ton

Dude...you’re pretty much set and ready to rock. I use the Dulytek 2x200 rolls at 160u. 120u will work just fine though. Kief or bubble will need the lower micron (25-45). I use Costco and Raw parchment but I want to try some slick paper or whatever it’s called. I think you’re good to go...how do you plan to consume?

Ok y'all, been thinking of selling the press, but alas I have decided to go another route.
Since I have almost given up on combustables, vaping and other forms of lung intake and going mostly to edibles and caps I am going to keep it as one of the tools.
I am still going to press X amount Rosin, make x amount of FECO with the pucks and cannabis buds, make cannabutter, use my Instant Pot to make both cannabis infused oils, for caps and cooking and also use some of the Rosin to infuse oils.
I still am smoking a few joints/bowls a day and when I go to bed, but have reduce that consumption by a shitload. So much so that I am back up to a couple of pounds in jars that I need to do something with.
Don't know about y'all but I have been consuming more cannabis during all this bull shit that going on. And my fucking hands have absorbed more 190 proof alcohol, from homemade sanitizer, than my liver. One thing is though my alcohol consumption is down from before this virus.

:rofl: :laugh: :rofl::laugh::rofl::laugh::rofl:

Damn! I so wish I was your neighbor.

That blows my friend, but you better stop that smoking stuff. Believe me, I know how it is.

What I like is no alcohol in pressed rosin cleanest capsules that will ever be made !
The report on the WW 10.2 grams of EVOO rosin works just as the 10 grams of coconut oil but about a half hour quicker then the chilled coconut oil. Should I put the Evoo in the fridge also ? I’d be screwed if I didn’t learn pressing, can’t smoke as much which I’ve took two hits off a WW and three off the Dosidos in 7 weeks to see what the quality was verses my capsules. Can’t believe how potent the Dosidos is , your aware but don’t get up !

Reducing alcohol is good thing.

I have notice even before I reduced my combustables was taking oil, gummies, edibles and the such my alcohol use drop a lot.
