Grandpa Likes To Squeeze Stuff: Solventless Extracts, Rosin, Pressed Here!

BTW, these work the great and fast.... Propane never goes bad. You can get them at most hardware and big box stores. I don’t know what you guys are currently using for a heat source.

A little Super Silver Haze. Fantastic flavor.:headbanger:

I have a few of those propane tanks around here. My main source now is one of those cooking torches, but it’s a waste of butane if you ask me. I like the bigger torch and it lasts forever.

Howdy 420 Folks,
I donated 14g of Raspberry Kush, 5 months cure, 90u 190 took a long time at 3-5t or something, to get squeezing then it just flowed and flowed the puddles just kept growing, was a pretty cool press haha. The taste is remarkable. A little harsh or kush? I coughed once sampling a few lol. What a great way to consume.
:roorrip:
Makes muh weenie tingle!
:welldone:

I need to fire the ol' press up tonight! Been dry on rosin a few days now...

I use a "MAP gas" torch with the yellow tank.

Holy hell! Takes like half a second to heat my banger.

It works amazing for heating my archaic press plates too!

Worth every penny!

Yeah these propane torches heat hotter and much faster. I shelved my butane cooking torches. It’s worth switching. I’ve got to check out Preston’s and see the difference in models.

The MAP torches are far hotter than propane. I use them for soldering copper pipe, and brazing aluminum or steel.

Bingo!

Should have prefaced that by saying, I'm a plumber by trade. LoL

Getting less frequent seeing copper pipe anymore, but that torch sure gets some work on remodel jobs.

I first saw them used 30 years ago when we replaced the hydronic oil furnace. I was using propane to make the connections to the wood furnace, and fell behind quickly. I switched, and never looked back.

A couple of questions for all you squeeezers out there. A local shop has a rosin press for rent and I thought I try it out with the trimmings from my latest harvest. Got about 1.5 ounces of trim exclusive of stalk, mostly popcorn buds and leaves.
What's the best condition for the buds to maximize the yield? Cured? Green? A bit of both?

Do I need to decarboxylate the buds before pressing?

I prefer dried, maybe a little cure, but not necessary. No decarb, and... honestly, with popcorn buds, I get my best returns when sift with dry ice first, then press the kief.

Hope that helps... I'm still pretty new to pressing, I'm sure the others will chime in soon.

Welcome! Decarb is not required before pressing. I like my weed dried...not necessarily fully cured.

I like the idea of renting a press. Hope you enjoy it and let us know how it goes please.

What I really want to know is can you give me a good explanation without looking it up why propane produces more energy and burns cooler? Please be stoned while doing so....
Ah, you need a little "Bro science".... :passitleft:

What we have here is "potential" energy! Just like some stoners, full potential is not always realized. (or maybe it's fully realized and just not worth the effort.) So propane, in short, is the pot smoker of gases. True story!

Doing some G13 Rosin today, love the flavor.
Opened the jug of LA Express last night and got a good wiff of it, then opened the jar of LA Express that my assistant brought by, same exact aroma. Love it.
