Grand Daddy Purple S1 & Pre-1998 Bubba Kush S1

Here's that top cola from the GDP plant I chopped. See the grey mold?

The whole top cola and a part of the second biggest nug had it. :( On a good note, with the organic mixes and compost teas I've been using this plant smells better than any of the clones of it I've grown so far. Grapey dank! :yummy:

I've thought it out, and I know I lost all that time with the S2 project (almost two full generations, to be exact) but I don't want to go backwards or sideways by backcrossing S2 or pollinating S2 with S1. I started germinating four more Grand Daddy Purple S1 seeds today. I'm going to do a repeat of what I tried before with lessons learned. After 3 weeks of seedling stage I'm going to put a fem S1 in flower and make some CS. As soon as I see the nodes start to form flowers, I'll put the second S1 and a clone from the original in with it and do it all again.

I seem to get one of those weirdos every other run or so. I've both run them out and given them the axe. I let them go until I need the space. This last run was a very strange expression of ghost train haze that started funky, grew funky, and gave me about 2 zips of really nice bud in the end. I was so close to chopping her several times. Glad I didn't.

That's a crazy looking seedling for sure Chimp. You could always seed it and maybe get some crazy genetic expressions later on just for fun...

I got a better idea :) Treat this one with colloidal silver solution:

..... and pollinate this one with it:

What are the odds of getting two of those out of four seeds I wonder.

Everything I've ever kept that grows weird yields way lower than its sister plants, but out of curiousity I grow them out anyway. I have two normal plants I can use as parents here, so I'm glad I planted four S1 seeds:

You have a couple polyploid seedlings - very long odds. :thedoubletake:

Definitely get some pollen or sumpin. Shiggity has one he calls "Twister" that he's kept cloned for generations - sticky, potent and well-behaved. Some polyploids are improvements. I know they also usually revert to normal growth - worth watching at any rate.

That does sound like a better idea Chimp! It will be interesting to see how they express themselves in later generations. :thumb:

Note: I'll get pics up as soon as I can, but I started both normal GDP S1 plants under 12/12 just now. They're both under 96 watts worth of full spectrum t5s. I'll make the colloidal silver the day before I use it.
Both of the three leaf wonders are runted, so I'm going to postpone putting them into a different locker and starting 12/12 for now.

Note: I don't recommend RO's Formula 707 for seedlings or cuttings. :(
Every one of them I put straight into it is looking like these runts:

The plants I transplanted into it that were over 10" tall are doing good, but anything under that isn't. I'll probably lose the only survivor to my Jack the Ripper grow, a clone I made from a runt.
