Grand Daddy Purple Clones Start To Finish!

Just added GDP Clone #2 to my Bloom Room to get a jump on replenishing my supply of GDP bud! The plant is 15" tall as of today, and filling out nicely. The other two clones will remain outside to become mothers for additional cuttings down the road.

The plan is to just allow those two to flower naturally outside along with the majority of my other outdoor plants. Depending on the success of my GDP cloning efforts with the Turbo Klone, I may opt to bring at least one of the two remaining GDP plants inside to maintain veg before Sept 22nd (Autumnal Equinox).

I'll be posting some additional photos of the other two GDP clones a bit later today, so stay tuned!

Also...

Check out my journal! I just posted a rather large weekend update with lots of photos! :thumb:

Here are a few more photos of the two GDP clones outside.

GDP Clone #3 (A little too much water during last watering round "Leaf Tip Curl") Will let it dry out for a day or two.

Here are the latest progress shots for the week of July 16th, 2011

GDP #1 - Week Four since arrival

GDP #3 - Now transplanted into a much larger 10 gallon pot
The previous leaf curl problem appears to be abaiting since the transplant

GDP #2 is currently in our Bloom Room under 12/12 and entering her second week of the flowering cycle today. We will have some progress shots of that plant as soon as flowers begin to emerge.

Well... Thats it for now!

Stay tuned for our next update!

Cheers. :)

I have heard some mentions of low yield from some folks who have grown GDP, but others claim to have just the opposite results. Not sure what the deciding factor is between a low yield and a high yield.

Micronutrients and veg time. Keep decent nutes and some Ironite on hand and you'll be rockin outdoors.

Looking good Goldengoose7. Are those tomatoes in the same coco blend?

hey all!! those clones are looking very healthy especially #1...shes gonna be a beast. I had 3 out ten that look like that and they were just flexing their muscle. I had to top them becuz they were like alpha girls. keep it up ur doing a great job.... I will hitch a ride with u to the harvest land brotha.

Thanks for stopping by Luv! :Namaste:

I too am looking forward to the day I can try some buds from these or their cloned decendants! My store bought supply of GDP bud has finally run dry, so I will not be partaking on any more GDP until I reap my own harvest!

Keeping my fingers crossed that it doesn't dissapoint! ;)

Thanks Rob!

For the Tomatoes I use a combination of the Cocoblend and the Hyponex Potting soil made by Scotts. Its cheap but the plants seem to like it well enough. Two feeds a month of Miracle Grow Red and by September we have harvested about 35 pounds worth from 6 plants. I LOVE September! lol! :)

Yeah man, they are all commin along nicely! Our plants are the same size but i'm not ready to flower just quite yet due to inconveniences next month.

but you girls are so healthy and green! good job this far GG!

Thanks for stopping by TreJay! Appreciate the kind words! :peace:

Actually, I hear ya about the early flowering plan for GDP #2.

Normally, I wouldn't be flowering that one until it was at least 25 inches tall, but I am totally out of GDP Bud and I really didn't want to spend any $$ on buying more in town. I would rather bank the cash and just wait for GDP #2 to provide for me. :thumb:

I actually bought the three GDP clones with this possible course of action in mind. The other two are about a week away from being able to provide some cuttings! That works out great because I am almost ready to end a Turbo Klone session and start a new one for GDP and Blue Cheese cuttings! :cheertwo:

I've got to be careful that I don't wind up with more plants than my setups can handle! :laughtwo:

Week 5 Update!

I am pleased to report that all three clones are doing great! Hard to believe that five weeks have already passed since we first brought home those tiny little twigs in Dixie Cups!

Here are the three girls as they appear today...

GDP #2 Now Shares Space with Purple Urkle 2nd Gen 1 (right)
P10109781.JPG

I was surprised at how quickly the GDP clone began to enter her flower cycle. It was noticeably more rapid than compared to other strains I have flowered in this same room. Between 3-5 days sooner which is a good thing to know when trying to allocate the limited space in a tiny Bloom Room such as mine!

Hope you enjoyed our latest update on our GDP Clones!

Have a great weekend! :Namaste:

As always looking dope goose! I wish here in az i could just go get clones and such! Im gonna watch these babies cause ive heard of the mixd reviews of GDP! Have you ever grown straw cough? Hows it compare to the purps?

Hi CannaVince and thanks for the kind words, and for stopping by! :thumb:

Never heard of "Straw Cough" before. The name would have made an impression if I had. ;)

I think part of this confusion over the reputation of GDP is based on the fact that there is one GENUINE CLONE ONLY strain of GDP which is what I am growing here, and a bunch of other similar strains that are also being called GDP. Any of the GDP seed products being marketed lately would fall into this category. There is also a lot of Purple Urkle, Purple Kush and even Blueberry bud out there being sold as GDP. Lets face it... To an untrained eye, most of these flower buds look pretty similar, and if you have never actually seen a GDP bud before, how are you gonna know that what you think is GDP is actually some Urkle or maybe Purple Kush, or even Blueberry?

I think folks just like the name, and start asking for it. If you can't get them the real thing, whatchagonnado? ;)

I know that sucks, but it happens all the time.

So... IMHO, the folks that are not impressed with GDP, have probably never actually tried it, and their beef is much more likely to be with a poorly raised/cured Urkle or worse! :laughtwo:

Thanks again for stopping by! Oh! And if you haven't yet voted for your favorite PLANT OF THE MONTH entry... Wink, Wink, Nudge, Nudge, Say No More! ;)

very nice work goose. your ladies are looking awesome! ;)

those flowers are just so beautiful!!!

:bravo:

Thanks as always guys for stopping by and leaving such kind and supportive comments! :thumb:

I just gave GDP #2 and Purple Urkle 2nd Gen #1 a dose of BushMaster, anti-stretching solution. (Performed wonders on the Blueberry Kush) The Urkle is already starting to overtake the GDP plant in height! I need to slow that puppy down and get them into bushy outward growth and not so much height.

This BushMaster stuff really seems to work for that! :thumb:

Awesome man lol I'm excited your flowering haha! Compared to my plants, your leaves are all shaped well, since they get light in the same direction everyday. I rotate mine to much lol.

They still look good tho, check em out I just posted some nice close up shots

Hey Jay! ;)

Just checked your Grow Log. Those are looking really nice and healthy! They look about right for four weeks using artificial lighting. :thumb:

You can't really compare sun grown with indoor. Nothing can compete with the Sun when it comes to growing stuff! I go through withdrawals every winter when I have to do everything inside, and really notice the difference in growth rate from outdoors to indoors! ;)
