Grand Daddy Black Grows A Stack

Hello growers.

It's Dot Day 19 for the Clones.

I really want these Grow Dots to work for me so I'm probably overthinking this process! However, if these things work it will be like finding the "lazy grail"!

From the Realgrower's website:

Adding water activates your Grow Dots so they start releasing their nutrients. Moisture is the “On/Off” switch. Temperature controls how much they release.

And this:

For strong vegetative growth, Grow Dots release 75% of their Nitrogen in the first 4 weeks.
Then, they transition to a Phosphorus and Potassium dominant “Bloom Formula”.

I'm wondering what this means for me since, to the extent possible, I have deprived these plants of water over the last week or so in an effort to briefly stall their growth. Have I extended the time period over which the Nitrogen will be released? (In other words, is my "Dot Day 19" more like a Dot Day 10?) And if yes, what if I flip them after 4 weeks, on day 28, when there remains plenty of N to be released? What does that mean for the plants' development?

@DeeBoy, you have any thoughts on this?

The one front right is on MC. The remainder are on Grow Dots.

Thanks for looking in.

Peace.
Hmmm. Makes no difference with my autos. I just water. I have a recommendation I’ll DM to you.

Since they've been given a good amount of water and the light has been turned back up to 75%, the girls have perked up.
They certainly have! Shiny happy plants are feeling glad.

Based on their marketing, I'm going with yes. No water, no nitrogen released.

I agree, that's what should occur based on what they say Shed.

So if I flip them "on schedule" they should still be getting a healthy dose of N after the flip date. I don't think that should be a problem.

We'll see, because I'm not likely to wait any longer than day 28! :Rasta:

Hello all.

It's Dot Day 24 for the Clones.

I see a little yellowing on the Black Domina. She's the only one of the clones that's on MC and her last feed was at 5g per gallon.

The three Dot-fed plants all look content enough.

I will be flipping these this Thursday or Friday. The temperatures here have become moderate, low 80s, so they should have no problem staying in the 2x2 for a few weeks longer. Hopefully, the flowering girls in my 4x4 -- on Flip + 71 -- will be making their big exit soon. Then the clones will go in there.

Realgrowers recommends using Recharge periodically with the Dots. I haven't given them any yet so I'll give them some on their next feed. As of now, they've gotten nothing but aged tap water. To these old eyes they look happier than the MC plant!

That's it for today.

Have a great Sunday!

Hello gang.

It's Dot Day 26 for the Clones.

I wanted to tell you how impressed I am so far with how the Dots are performing. I'm never sure if pics do justice to what I am seeing with the naked eye. But these dotted plants are really thriving! The girls have nice colors, nice growth and are blemish-free.

The Kera (back right) is beginning to show some very minor nute-burn on the leaf tips, but that's no issue. The other two haven't shown it yet but I know they will soon.

I still plan to flip them on day 28 to keep them in line with the Dot's nutrient release scheme.

So far, so good!

You can absolutely tell with the naked eye, even from just a picture. They look so healthy! Go Dots!

Thanks Krissi.

Yeah, Go Dots!

I could easily get used to this water only method. And not having to discuss what dosage of "so and so" the plants are on and what "so and so" is being supplemented with, well, I could easily get used to that too. And of course that means not having to constantly measure dosages of "so and so", and not having to figure out when to increase (or decrease) "so and so", and when to add some "this and that" to the "so and so." Well, I could easily get used to that too.

So yeah, Go Dots! :ganjamon:

You had me at lack of so-sos

...insert Tom and Renee....you had me at hello...hello Dots that is...definitely interesting and making me wonder

Dots are looking good!

You might have to get used to a 28 day veg though (or holding them back as you did here) if the plants really have to stick to the timing.
As a first-time user I have no idea whether they have to adhere to that schedule. Luckily, I had clones so I could try it "their" way.

The plants look so content that I would not hesitate to use the Dots for a longer veg period. I then might need to use supplements to get them to the end. But again, I'm a clueless first-time user. :Rasta:

Hello growers.

I did the deed yesterday and it's now Flip + 1 for the Clones.

As usual, I am amazed at how their look changes immediately after their first 12-hour dark period.

What does this mean for the Dot-fed plants? Just keeping giving them water! :Rasta:

Thanks for looking in.

Spectacularly on-point GDB!

Did you get your Dots online or retail? I went to Amazon and they were unavailable. I wanted to recommend them as an option in addition to Osmocote+ for lazier clone recipients.
I got them from the Realgrowers website. I'm almost certain that you can figure out it's name! :laughtwo:

Hello growers.

It's Flip + 3 for the Clones (Dot day 31).

The Dot-fed trio were watered last night and got their first dose of Recharge @2.5g per gallon. The Black Domina clone (front left) got a dose of MC (lowered from 5g to 4.5g) + 1g of CalMag Pro(8-0-0).

I was a bit surprised when I peeked in today and saw that the Dot-fed plants were acting like total animals!
I mean each one is looking down on the MC plant and waving bye-bye! :ciao:

Keep it up Dots! :Rasta:

Ok,  now those dots have got my attention...

You're going to make me buy some, aren't you, GDB? :thedoubletake:

Not at all Carcass! But I will say that the starter bag I bought for these three plants only cost me $7.95. :)
