Grand Daddy Black Grows A Stack

Hello growers.

I'm up again in the middle of the night. It's one of my issues.

Anyway, I started my half-assed plan for the LST on the Lemon Haze. (background: I waited too long to top it and so just decided to bend it over. but it was planted in the center of the pot so...)

I folded the top of the fabric pot down to get a little more horizontal room and continued to pull down the plant. I used a safety pin in the side of the pot and a pipe cleaner. I figure I can take this main stem out sideways for as long as needed by elongating the pipe cleaner and moving it further out on the stem.

I also bent the Dark Devil for the same reason stated above. But she has jumped into flower already on day 24 plus she doesn't look that healthy. So I'm done with her and will just let her do whatever she's gonna' do.

Now, back to planning my next grow(s). I think I might have to give the autos a rest for a while. I've got too many photo seeds that I want to get to (and Grandaddy Blacks on the way!).

I moved from autos to photos because I wanted the plants on my timetable. I really didn't like always having to respond to theirs!

When you lay a plant over, it's important to support the stem where it comes out of the soil and keep it upright before the bend. Otherwise you're stressing the trunk/root connection. I put a tie around the trunk pulling the opposite direction of the bend, and a "spare" rock to keep that tie from slipping down to the soil.

Barbecue skewers are great for keeping a plant flat beyond the edge of the pot:

I hope you finally got some sleep!

Hey GDB, they’re looking good! I’ve had autos trained over from the middle before too and if you wanted, you can start turning her to circle around the edge of the pot. She probably won’t make it all the way around before she flowers out, but it could help keep her from taking up so much neighbor space. Maybe a bit less risk of a break too? Just an idea :Rasta:
Planning a grow is almost more fun that actually growing. What’s your top photo seed choices? (besides GDB of course)

Thanks, HH! I saw @Sunnyskies do the hula hoop training once and I would definitely consider trying it.

I'll be using both tents for photos in my upcoming grows so I can go with quite a variety. I'll be growing 4 plants in the 4x4 tent and 6 plants in the 5x5.

In the 4x4 I'd like to try some of the so-called "Fast" strains to see how fast they really are. I've got three Fast strains standing by: Big Devil, Bubblegum and Critical Poison. I'll do some combination of them to get to four total.

In the 5x5 I'll do one of GDBs of course. I've also got the original GG#4 from the original breeder. I'll grow one of those. For the other 4 plants I'll just pick from among my humble collection. I've got a bunch of freebies with interesting profiles to pick from. Of those, I'm leaning toward a Blue Cindy (Cinderella 99 x Blueberry) and a Lemon Bubble (Super Lemon Haze x Silverbubble). There will also be a Pineapple Express. I've yet to decide on the 6th plant.

Thanks for asking that question. It helped me to focus in on what I want to do! :Rasta:

What will you be growing in the months to come?

Thanks for the tip on the counter-tugger, Shed. I'll get that done ASAP, but I need to find a bigger rock!

I feel you, Shed! So many "WTF" days with autos. Still, they keep things interesting and don't require excessive amounts of water or nutrients. If I had another good-sized tent, I'd keep some going at all times. But I don't. And for the two good-sized tents I do have I just feel like photos are the way to go, at least for a while.

I'll use my 2x2 to start new photo babies so that I can keep 'em coming! :Rasta:

I like growing autos, but photos definitely make it easier to stick to a plan- like Shed said, it's nice to
decide things for the plant instead of it deciding things for you....

Hello growers.

I'm up again in the middle of the night (3.25am). I feel like one of those new type of vampires who's not bothered by sunlight.

Anyway, I reviewed my latest seed order for the GDBs and saw that I chose another Fast strain (Bruce Banner) for my 2 freebie seeds. So now I've got 4 different strains to run for my upcoming Fast grow.

The fact that I'm posting this minor bit of info at this time of the morning causes me a bit of concern, but I guess, not enough to keep me from hitting the "Post Reply" button. :Rasta:

Hello growers and happy Hump Day.

I've got an quick update on the photos this evening.

I bent most them out and removed a lot of bottom stuff and fans, getting them set up for the second part of the marathon. I didn't mess with the Critical Kush yet because I want her to get a little bigger first.

Left rear: Critical Kush
Right rear: Dbl Chocolate
Middle: Cheese
Left front: Strawberry Banana Grape
Left right: Grand Daddy Purple

All of these are on day 44 and getting 4g of Mega Crop.

My special girl, the SBG, was the most fun to work with. She's growing on the wild side. But with her, I got to leave some little stuff in the middle because I think it should come up nicely. Hope I'm right! :Rasta:

Peace!

Hello growers!

This has been quite a day for me and one day soon you'll all know why!

In the meantime, I wanted to show you how the SBG bounced back after yesterdays training ritual. Actually, all the plants that I fought with and snipped on came back like champs. But the SBG really seemed to like what I did to her!

Sorry about the jacked up lighting. It was a rush job. :Rasta:

Peace.

I ran across a strain called Grandaddy Black. I had no idea such a thing existed! :Rasta:
I knew about it. I did read the entire Seeds.... peoples site last spring though. I had a few sleepless nights myself. I struggle with insomnia. Especially lately.

I honestly thought that is where you got your name from.
It's catchy, Carcass. But I was thinking about something like "GDB Does Himself." That would grab some attention! :laughtwo:
