Big Pharma is the lobbyist group for the pharmaceutical industry. Monsanto is a agriculture biotech company. Its not really the same thing.
Monsanto, as of two years ago, was 85% owned by Phizer. Yes, the pharmaceutical company. So, in reality, it is pretty much the same thing. Also there is Bayer, lest we think Monsatan is the only GMO interest with pharmaceutical interests.
As Hippocrates is reputed to have stated, "Let your food be your medicine". Cannabis, in all of it's various forms, is food, medicine, fuel, fiber, and recreation. When our food is actually producing pesticides and herbicides after we've consumed it, it is no wonder that it would create problems. So now, instead of our food being our medicine, our food is largely toxic.
Since the US Congress owns a patent on a strain, and Monsanto has for years been working for genetically modified cannabis, you can be sure we'll be allowed to use the cannabis they own the patents to in the not too distant future...One small step for corporate profiteers, one giant fall for mankind.
