Girl Scout Cookies Xtrm In Coco LED

I took them back & drove another 15 miles to another hydro store, and they were out of 5 gal bags. !! I'm, in no hurry !! i'm using 5 gal now and I don't think any of the 4 strains I'm growing, will fill the 5 gal with roots. Just the fact that this butthead sold my wife something other than what she asked for, just pisses me off !!

BF, how concerned should I be with high run off ppm, (ie. 1900-2000) ? I ran just water thru them about 4 days ago, but the ppm reading is right back to 1900. My understanding is i should never water (flush) with plain water, and some say the high ppm in coco is normal ? What would you do ? I don't want to lose this one !! I cut back the nutes to around 900-1000ppm, from 1100. plants are all healthy ass giants !! Not one yellow leaf !! Am I worrying over nothing ?

I honestly don't know the answer to that. I never check my runoff ppm and I just started checking ph. That's only because my fertilizer is top dressed. As long as the tips aren't burned I wouldn't worry about it.
That's how i see it, if it isn't broke, don't fix it !! Thanks BF .

Hey BF,

I have been quiet on here for a while but I have been still following along,

congrats on a successful grow and harvest, looks very nice indeed, very well done.

also, a big thanks for the irrigation information, I used it to set up my own system, slightly different in that my feed loop in round the outside of the pots but the same other than that. I am back around posting and growing again so feel free to drop by and have a look.
Cheers

Speeding through. Was hoping to see some nice pics? :passitleft:

Hey Mr. A! Harvest pics are on page 24. I ended up with a little over a pound. Not sure why this thread is still open lol

Hi mate. Interested to see how you went. Something I did to flush my last grow was initially use tap water, from the tap (hose). I put so much water through it (heaps - about 2 to 3 times your pot volume) so that the EC outflow went down to 0.8 and pH went up to nearly match the inflow water pH. Then I ran pH corrected water through it. No nutes or anything. Did that on day (Harvest Day - 7 days) when the trics were about 40% cloudy. Turned out real nice

Slowpuffer, my EC seems to run a little higher in coco than what it does in rockwool. Ive thought it may be because coco tends to bind calcium and a couple of other nutrients so maybe theres always some of those nutes present.

Definitely agree with pw!

I advise against checking runoff for new growers. Every time I'd check runoff I'd try to make some adjustment when really I shouldn't have done anything because the plant was fine but would have problems after my adjustments. SP ended up with a great harvest. Not sure how he fixed it though.

I've always been taught when I read through ledrf and I thought cult says the same but to never put plain water into coco unless your at the harvest flush. Coco doesn't like fluctuations so when I flush, I always put some nutrients in the water.

RobbieBurn, what i wound up doing was gradually cutting back on the ppm, from 1100 to 900 too 700 to 500, etc, till i got down to about 400 and the coco will eventually come down. i harvested two days ago, and the runoff at that time was 400. But I'm pretty sure that cutting back on the nutes, cost me as far as yield goes? but I'm very happy with the results. pics are posted on my journal. So RB, it turned out great, but I'm still not sure it's necessary to flush coco, some folks say it isn't ?
This new grow I got going is gonna be watered/fed twice per day, with no runoff and flush every 10 days. They're 18 days into bloom & looking so fine !! Thanks for checking back to see how shit went !!

I posted this in another thread but there are Many ways of growing in coco but to me it comes down to two people. Ledrf and cultivator.

The way cult grows is how I would if I was running a grow op. Less waste everything dialed in.

Ledrf is the one that suggests runoff. He isn't as exact from what I recall in the videos and when you are not dialed in you will run into lockout without a certain amount of runoff to wash out the salts

Since I run a minimum amount of plants I grow ledrf style.

Either way works
