Germination

Is it safe to place my seeds in sunlight or in a warmer environment once they have sprouted? They are not big enough to plant yet. The last seeds I had germinated much faster and had much longer taproots in a shorter amount of time but it also wasn't quite as cold in my basement at that time of year.

They do best if you keep them in the dark at 75-80F.

Roots don't like the light and any warmer than 80F tends to encourage mold and bacteria.

A heated germination mat is a good investment. I would not recommend using a heating pad that's not specifically for plants. Lots of seeds get cooked that way.
