Gardenfaerie Outdoor Organic Summer 2014 Flux and LST in Ground

Happy Dance!

We had a friend pass through on his move to Florida on Friday/Sat. Mark never met him. He's VERY gay. Haha. Mark was so cute. He was bending over backwards to make Frank feel comfortable. His little Papillion was a pure joy to have here. She was like a ragdoll, but she was blind and had brain damage from puppy mill rearing. So cute.

Mika has been nebulized twice now and she actually sits right next to the nozzle with the medication coming out. GREAT! Let's see what a thousand dollars buys in the way of bird health. Sheesh. Vets are motherfathers.

And yes, I did harvest one MM, so no excuses other than anticipation and just wanted it out of the ground. I want to have an estimate on the house for renovation. It is one of the options we have in retirement. If we stay here, I need it to be renovated to be what I like, not what the builder liked 15 years ago.

So...that plays into my anticipation also. Does anyone have one of those sun enclosures built onto your home? I'm not talking three season, I mean a major structure with glass and doors and floors...part of the house but off the back.

Sorry for the OT. If you want to post any answers to my OT questions, you can do it in my OT journal link in my sig.

Some photos of the one MM plant I harvested and trimmed. I threw out the trim. I should have kept it and dried it out for the soil. I wasn't too certain there weren't any eggs or insects on the trim. I washed the buds after I trimmed. I'll wash first next time. I didn't weigh this wet.

Okay, I just looked under my 60x pocket microscope. I saw brown stamens and a lot of amber trichomes. It is much gooier under that microscope than with the 10x loop.

What else am I looking for? Mold, fungus? What are your suspicions? I dare not smoke it if anything is suspect.

Congrats on your harvest Brooklyn...

Well I couldn't be certain either way unless I had the weed in front of me.

But, in general I was referring to insect fecal matter/ fungus remnants, mother nature n all ya know..

If you are suspicious, isolate that particular bud from all the other ones at once.

For me, caterpillar poop and fungus go hand in hand. (lol) Literally, often times the fecal matter can induce the growth of spores, and it isn't too uncommon for me to lose a little bit of bud each year to such treachery, I hate finding them crawling in there, really grinds my gears :surf:

Reality is interesting.

Ah, okay. Yes, I did inspect them fully and I see no insect debris or insects at all on the buds. They may have been there, but after washing vigorously in very hot water and following that process, they are clean. I had found on two occasions bud worms. Two of them. I did not have them on these plants other than that. I also saw the occasional spider mite, but that was not anything to worry about. The plants grew out of their stress and were not attracting insects. Also as I've said before I have nothing but butterfly and moth vines and plants everywhere in this garden, front and back. They are far more interested in their native food than pot...it seemed. I hope I didn't just jinx myself! LOL

My two cents says heat stress. the Bubbleicious ones I grew few months ago was really bad on heat. if it got above 80 the plant was stun and grew slow and had few signs of burning on leaves. Bar and Colorado figured it out after asking everyone what they thought. I took heat off and they were fine. Probly one of the strains cant take heat well.
just my thinking heat will burn the hairs first then, the leaves

I would still try it see what happens. or make oil out of it.

Like golden, Yum :rofl::yummy:

No new photos, but I did pull the other Money Maker from the ground. I was not thriving. OUTENZEE! I trimmed it, washed it, and will photograph later, and weigh wet.

In other news, my seed order arrived. In addition to the:

3 Barney's Farm Pineapple Express Auto
1 Mazar Kush Fem
3 Wild Thai

I also got free:

4 x Afghan Kush Special
1 x NL Blue
1 x NL x BB Fem
1 x Barney's Farm Critical Auto
2 x White Widow Auto
2 x Trainwreck

Is it safe to assume if a name does not say FEM, it is probably a REG? I bought 7 seeds, got 11 free. Pretty decent. Wish they were a sponsor. Maybe I'll grow the NL Blue for BID in the Purple journal. Then again, that does not say it is a FEM so maybe not.

Wow. Look forward to seeing the new Photos. :bravo:

All that frost! S~S~S~H~ee~sh it's chilly in here...

They are all looking very nice.. are you planning to re veg that pretty bushy clone ???
The outside girls are gonna give you a huge yield when those are harvested, you about to be set for the winter, congratulations !! :thumb:

I have never heard of washing weed until this forum, would like to know more...

What I mean by clone taken in flower is that when I cut that part to clone off the mother, the mother plant was in flower. It takes longer to clone a plant while it is flowering, but when it works, you get an unnatural amount of branching.

I just now did the first training on those plants. Just bent over, pulled over to expose inner stems. I'll update with photos. So no, I won't reveg it because it is only just now vegging after it was cloned a month ago...or so.

Did I explain that well? :)

Bud Washing
That's the washing weed thread I followed.
I wen't with 3 5-gal buckets

Bucket #1 - 1 cup baking soda + 1 cup lime juice
Bucket #2 - Warm/hot tap water
Bucket #3 - cool tap water

3-4 minutes for 3 oz. Tastes great!
