G.C. Tangerine Dream Auto - DWC

Sloppy I flushed the rockwool I had in my net basket. I took a cup of water from the rez that was ph'd and just slowly poured it on top of the RW cube to try and rid of any stale water or build up in it that may have caused my problem. Then when I did my rez change, I did it again with just plain ph water to flush any remaining nutes out of it. Then made sure the water level was well below the basket to prevent the cube just sitting in water.

I've read a couple stories of people having problems with their dwc and turned out to be their RW cube.

Does your DWC have a drain, or do you take the lid off and pour it out??

I will be adding a scrog net to each of the lids when it is time. A scrog will be needed due to my limited space even after I bite the bullet and get a bigger tent. Having it attached to the lid will still allow me to pull the buckets and do what I need too.

That is a handy dandy idea...... I see why you pour it. With a drain, you couldn't wash it. You change weekly?

Rockwool! I think you mentioned that above. Clearly I haven't had enough "medicine" yet.

But does anybody know if one should/can flush a DWC? I've been struggling with the concept for a while.

Thanks Bowl,

It's going to get good!

Which aspect of flushing are you refering to? Flushing the plant or flushing the growing system?

I'm curious about a similar operation as one does in dirt grows. Flushing the plant when one has nute probs or some (like me) flush at the end to clean out the bad tasties right before harvest.

Ihope that makes sense.

You can do a flush towards the end of harvest of straight ph water to use up any nutes the plant has stored just like soil.

As far as other problems that would be a rez change. To save money and nutes and filtered water, a rez change would be a last resort.

Check ph first make sure it's in range. If the ppm in the rez is too high pull some water out and add the equivalent back in of just plain ph water (preferably distilled or RO, as tap water has minerals and such that you would be adding right back in it.) If all that doesn't work then a rez change is in the future.

It really doeant like me uploading pics of Thelma. Really bias
Wonder what the website has against Thelma......??

They look like they are both growing well.... Are you talking to them??? They like that, you know..... ;)

I am. I tell them how beautiful they are and that they are meant for great things and that they are gonna grow big and strong. I'll sing them so Bob Marley or 311 lol

Nice..... just don't let them start playing Marvin Gaye. Seeds are great, but not on your first grow....
