The bud rot progressed through the slow air drying stage an estimated total loss of aprox 30% to 40% of bud was trashed... i was going through the bud every 2 days chucking moldy lumps out, rather than panic & do a quick dry i let nature takes its course an additional week extra of slow air drying was given as i had to make sure what was going to go moldy would go moldy before placed in the curing jars others wise you can imagine what might happen !
Curing will be another 2 to 3 weeks.
To date only the smell test has been done 3 out 4 people said they couldn't tell the difference & 1 out of 4 said the hempy bud had a slightly more fuel aroma sharpness.
Both exhibit fuel aroma with fruitiness back ground smell.
Only myself tasted it so far lets just say fruity sweetness quick hitting head high mellowing out to a body relaxed feeling... ye don't know which one it came from as it was salvaged from a cola of rot & quick dry down.
I don't use the micro or oven method as it really fecks with taste.
I prefer a large saucepan half filled with water & bring to boil.
You need to find a plate to sit on top of the sauce pan, place a kitchen paper towel on plate and break bud into small pieces.
Once water is boiling turn down and let simmer for 30 to 45 mins...
When the time has expired turn of gas/electric hob and let the plate on pan sit with the bud on it for another 3 to 4 hours or so & let the remaining warmth from pan dry bud out further.
It leaves you with a more pleasant tasting bud than the harsh smoking quick dry with grill/oven or micro wave
I'll get some smoke reports up in a couple of weeks.
P.s It would of been my best harvest/yield to date... but still walked away with favourable results of several oz if it wasn't for the bud rot i estimate a couple short of dozern at best.
