Funny First Grow Outdoor/Balcony OG Kush + Grape Ape

thanks for checkn by my journal 52!

yea hopefully i can solve this leaf problem im having, but other than that i do think they love the tent and these pots man.... no more fungus gnats ill tell ythat.....
for 99 bucks its dope, cos it feels expensive... really.... the materials on point. word. haha...

i wont foliar feed.... i think its a little risky, youre right. im gona work on ventilation asap, i think theyre beggn for it...

:peacetwo: swing thru again mayn!

I'm seeing the same thing using reflective materials other than Panda Plastic or plain white walls. The aluminum foil or mylar or other shiny reflectors form tiny parabolic structures which concentrate too much light to its focal point and literally burns the plants cells. I just noticed some problems with heat and light burn in my flower room due to lack of air flow and foil reflectors.

If you think about it, white reflects all colors of the spectrum just as well, but a plain wall or sheet of Panda Plastic doesn't give you the parabolic mirror like structures that burn like other metallic reflectors.

Panda Plastic is cheap as well.

100 sq. ft sheet 10' x 10' for 20 something bucks ain't a bad idea.

First off- looking GREAT here Funnystyle. I go away for a weekend and look at all the progress! Right now is a slow period in my journal (no $$, just waitin for harvest) so its fun to follow yours and some others where so much is happening / changing :)

Dude pretty stoked on the c02 want to see how it goes - plan to build something tomorrow.

This doesn't surprise me, was warned against using foil for burns - plus you can't clean it, see specs of dirt on it, many reasons.

I pay $9 (Canadian $) for 10' x 10' - be willing to bet you can find it even cheaper than $20 for that amount. Stuff is awesome, it really helps keep the growroom clean since you can see every spec of dirt (and/or dead bugs) on the floor / walls.

:peace: :goodluck:

I'll be here in the back row smokin :rasta:

I guess your budget outdoor grow really isnt budget anymore, or outdoor haha. That's alright brother, neither is mine.

Glad to hear you took care of the gnat problem though. I was lookin at those pots myself and decided to just cover mine. Havent seen a bug in about 2
weeks.

What area of cali are you? I know of a couple stores in my area (the happiest place on earth) that have some inexpensive equipment, new open box items and some used stuff. Plus they have a lot of 50% off stuff and if you pay with cash they don't charge tax. I picked up another light a couple days ago. It's a 2' 4 bulb HO T5 w/new bulbs for $75 I think the sticker price for the light was $129 :cheesygrinsmiley: I love a good deal.

Anyway brother keep up the green work :goodjob:

wdup 52, im in Los Angeles brother.... im near a shop called Green Door..... i guess you could say they got fair prices and do give generous discounts and stuff..... but i havent seen no used section.... that would be dope if they did...... and i really like those fixtures man! i always wanted one of those 2 footers with 4 bulbs. but if i had 75 i think i woulda pickd up a cfl with hood like your hydrofarm setup..... we all love a good deal! :surf:

I seriously think these guys at lighthouse hydro are on point with their build.... the material inside seems very well put together, i noticed its reflection is way more spread out and softer than the mylar blanket..... like i can see if i used mylar on my walls i would get thsoe hot spots cos of the crinkles maybe? iono.... panda paper did cross my mind before i picked the tent up, and i also saw tents with the white material inside as well, but like i said my mom walks in my room all the time and she dont like seein no type of modification done on ANYTHING. too korean.... i did rec the panda paper to my buddies who are starting their first grow with 40 plants..... lol.... i told em ill help em, but these guys know nothing.... and im beginning to think i barely know anything either.... this should be interesting eh? :ganjamon: maybe ill make a journal for them haha just for fun and for the rest of 420mag to see what its like to hop on a 40+ grow with barely any experience.... :rasta:

panda paper = good... panda paper + my closet = bad...

im pretty excited to make my co2 stuff too :rasta: now that i think about it, a grip of people praise co2.... well see.....

oo yea so i did like a quick addup of all my spendings..... looks like i spent roughly 250 so far..... i think ill pick up a few more things, like a thermometer and some equipment for ventilation..... should put me right around 300 total spent.... im not expecting anything more than what i spent by harvest time... ill be happy with an oz. :yummy:

i also got some skewers today! ill be messn witem when i wake up.....

and the PP, if i had my own place, i know id be on a SUPER budget. i woulda prob went with it, im lucky i got a roof over my head.... even luckier to be able to grow....

its hard to find a job these days, and its even harder when you spend the only money you got on herbs..... me.... im not exactly the ideal "korean" (smart, well off, and whatever they might say about us....) ive been thru shit in my past i guess u could say and thats kinda why i needa be my own boss.... people wont hire me anyways.... growing on the side will help me while i get my shit together, at least i wont be spending all the money i usually spend.... i told you one reason why i grow which is because my moms other medicinal intakes that i wanted to counter out.... but on my side, i been skating, biking all my life kinda.... im hella active, even still....but my damn joints and bones caught up to me though and its sick chronic pain... mmj helps me a grip, it might not take the pain away completely, but it does help me to not think about it.... i also medicate to eat.... i got sick gastric refluxes that kill my appetite.... ok.... ill stop. goodnight!

Hey funnystyle, how's it going! Your plants are looking really nice! I'll be checking back later!

thanks for stoppn by guitarman! ive been had my eyes on your girl and the whole LST from the getgo! the rings are dope, but i think ill try and train em with skewers this round, i just dont like the way the fabric gets pulled on and covers a bit of space... i need all the space i need to water.... cos watering is a bitch. haha..... see ya! :peacetwo:

lol 40+ with no experience

haha! right?? i got a handful with just 5 right now..... watering all 40.... flushing all 40...... ph...... i cant believe they havent even asked me to help them.... i had to volunteer.... and i have a feeling they think they wont need it.....

i got my eyes on your girls too dawgy! lets get em grown! :rasta: :ganjamon:

DaveyBoy, thats a sick setup you got there with those 125watters! since i wont be gettn those anytime soon i really got my eyes on that thermometer! haha also the carbon scrubber ima look into that!

Fiddling with it tonight to add some acoustic ducting I got, need to silence the fricken fan... wife wants my poor plants to have no ventilation at night as they're ruining her sleep otherwise :laughtwo:

haha! i hear ya man..... hopefully that silencer works out! dont want the wife trashin stuff up! my lady goes on those tantrums.... hahah! :surf:

ok quick UPDATE:

so... i think the girls are gettn worse.... the spotting is spreading.... i also think im losing a bit of my lush green up top at new growth....they look much darker than before.... ive been doing reading all morning.... and i kept thinking something is locking out my nitrogen.... or am i not giving enough? i havent fed them with the growbig in about 5 days im guessing.... i thought the new added soil from the transplant would be sufficient for the time being.... and ive only watered once so far which was 2 days ago...(just some superthrive + limejuice for phdown = phd to 6.7. didnt read runoff but im guessing it would be around 7) i read limejuice would cause problems for hydro setups so im moving away from that being a possibility....

my main question thats really bothering me right now is about the trace minerals..... the growbig i use has leveled "contains trace minerals" like manganese, magnesium, calcium, etc.... but im aware my kitchen tap has these too.... you think they add up to be to be too much for my girls? is this whats locking out nutrients? am i even facing nutrient lockout? i really need some input at this point, i dont wana make a bigger mistake and do something stupid.... im stuck at do i feed them? or not? should i try foliar with the growbig tonight?

here are some pictures.... if you have any advice, please shoot em! i can use all the advice i can get! thanks!

thanks peeps!

Keep your pH at between 6.2-6.5 for maximum absorption of minerals. I for one cannot get that specific with mine cause i use drops for pH testing. Additionally i had 5ml of epsom salt to every watering i do, and about 8ml of veg nutes. I water about 1 liter of water every day (cause she drains very well) to my girl and after im done with 1 gallon, i give her 2 liters (over 2 days) of pH'd water (no epsom) to flush out any excess nute/salt buildup in the soil. I use my filtered refrigerator water so that she gets the trace minerals. On top of that, i usually spray her with regular, un pH'd filtered water in the morning and at night so that her leaves dont try out too much.

I don't know how often you feed her, but the new growth looks like it's not getting enough nitrogen. My girl was doing that until i started giving her nutes and she went back to green.

Hope my little description helps or gives incite and useful information for yah! :grinjoint:

:goodluck:

xbox4him! thanks for comin thru! and thanks for the generous input!

now that youre the 3rd person to tell me i should have my ph in the soil to be a little lower than what i usually go by, i will try and switch things up a little bit.... im gona try to get my soil ph as close to 6.5 as possible within the next few days.... i dont wana make any drastic changes in their new homes yknow?

im leaning towards nitrogen deficiency now that you mention it.... just needed another persons perspective yknow? i plan on foliar feeding soon today but i will let them soak up most of it then wipe em down before i put em back in their tent... hopefully this helps!

i wont adjust my ph when i foliar feed today, im just adding 1/2 teaspoon to a gallon of unph'd kitchen tap. :wood:

yeah idk too much about Plant Problems n what not bro, but i think you stressin a lil too much.. they still look good and are growing fine no?

If anything, like xbox said, i think it could be some n deficiency but dont consider it an educated opinion.

don't stress it nigga, maybe feed 1 nutes and jus water the other next time. Watch and Learn. Thats the idea right?...

Funny I read your thread and it was fun.

I have a Blue Nose Pit Myself. He is the most unique dog I have ever seen.

About Nutes and Miracle Gro... There are a lot of opinions out there as well as A-holes. One guy in another forum called me a Miracle Grower as an insult. I have had Great results with MG nutes. Not a fan of their soil with the 3 month feed, but the nutes are measurable and therefore controllable. With Organics you can do it free, but that invites bugs and smells and all kinds of things. You can push the envelope with chemical nutes and then just flush the hell out of them in the final weeks. I have no complaints with that.

About bag seeds... I think most times when you find a seed or two in a bag of weed it was not because someone didn't remove the males. If that were the case the bag would be half seed. My guess it a stray hermi flower got in a batch and that got some pollen in the right place at the right time. Not to say you will grow hermis, but it is always possible.

I have been smoking and growing weed off and on since about 72-73. I tried a lot of different things and seen a lot of fads. Most the high priced stuff on the market is just a gimicky fad that lures hopeful minds into growing bigger and better buds. I am ghetto all the way man. When I used HID lighting I bought surplus lights from factories and when I used nutes I used MG and now I use CFLs. When ever something is expensive and sounds like it will do a Miracle it is most always a scam. Sorry to say. Weed is a weed that just wants to grow. It is almost like the less you do the better. Give them plenty of light, clean water and air circulation and you will have trouble keeping them down. Always try to do it as cheap as you can so you are not just paying another person for your homegrown buds.

maaan thas a purdy lookin pooch g dog. Really cool pic, I can almost feel the beach, which makes me miss it. Haven't seen a coast in 10+ years =(

+reps tho, well said. wish we had more folks like you perusing our forums :rasta:

That doesn't look like Nitrogen deficiency to me, possibly Mg in which some epsom salt added to your water when you feed would help... I would recommend not using any nutes until you figure out your problem. Most people add nutes trying to fix deficiencies and end up causing the problem to get worse by adding more. I suggest searching for plant trouble guide, can't find the one I am thinking of right now but if I come across it I will PM it to you. It will have pictures and descriptions of different deficiencies and even pest problems and over/under watering.

Peace :blunt:

hey G-dog, super big ups for stoppn by my thread man. :yahoo:
and that PIT IS GORGEOUS! talk about SWOLL.... looks JUST like my buddies pup!

and about the MG.... you know whats funny? im only going to use MG stuff for my next grow... i wana try their "organic" soil... i thought about gettn all foxfarms stuff, but damn i dont think my brain likes me spending 50+ on bottles with nice graphics..... i guess it works... the growbig... but my MG nutes also worked. i just realized i was overdoing it. for 5 bucks, i see it lasting me at least 3 years or something hahaha theres alot! (the blue stuff right?)

and soil, im using something a little cheaper than MG, kellogg? it said organic, and i liked the stuff written on it haha like, worm casting, blood meal, bat guano, etc...

and hopefully i dont grow no hermies! that would just make me sad........ i already have my mind set in gettn seeds online after this batch.... or maybe ill use a few more bagseeds up and give the fems a go....

ill be takn it slow G-dog, look out for me man! haha...

ooo the pit ---
