Fun In The Sun 2016 - Tiger - Ape - Pitbull - Gorilla & More - Run Wild

Mornin' Bumble!

Soil mix is: 2-1-1-1 sawdust-pumice-sandy loam-compost
Above base soil mix was amended (in no particular order) with: EWC, bone meal, guano, blood meal, feather meal, rock phosphate, Epsom salts, dolomite lime, Azomite rock dust, kelp meal, neem meal, myco, alfalfa meal, and humic and fulvic acids. It was mixed and has been cooking since mid-January.

The soil in-ground has a pretty good heat sink in the surrounding soil and the plants do a good job of providing shade. Exactly what happens in the soil is anybody's guess. The plants in softpots wilt more quickly when it is hot, but I think it is just the quicker evaporation of those porous pots, combined with the smaller amount of soil.

It has been a crazy week. I will try to get an update posted today. I'm harvesting the last of it through this weekend. I'd finish it today but I do not have room to hang it all.

Blaze on, bro!
How temp durable is the DBHBB in a outdoor greenhouse grow. Would it withstand if I took extra measures in keeping it, in range, so to speak. Your opinion.

Still looks great. Love that 'Deep Purple'. Hopefully she's going to be a 'Highway Star'... Keepem Green

Doc would be the one to ask, but I'd say, "Yes". I used Doc's kit on a couple of plants last year outdoors. If you are worried about heating the soil you can always bury hard pots to keep them cooler. I used soft pots so the roots grew right through them making my grow a sort of hybrid: DBHBB inside the pots / plain dirt on the outside. If interested in the results, the link in my signature will let you see how it went.

Do it - you'll kill it!

That's my thinking, work around it. I woke up last night and had a horrid thought "Oh sh*t, docs only works indoors" . These guys are already saying " watch the heat". Then, low and behold, I remembered your issues with the sawdust at the beginning of the year and your soil being organic. Ahhh. Relief... Lol.

Hey Bob- :thankyou:
Your support is much appreciated! Dry sift is a great option for trim or excess: quick, easy, with no special equipment or added expense.
I need to improve my support system for outdoor grows. Next year!
I don't post much, but I follow and greatly enjoy your journals.

Stay green! :high-five:

Did you cut them all? I want pics of the Zamaldelica! My dad had one that finished right before that storm last week. It's beautiful but the smoke was so-so.

No - not yet.
My plan was to chop it yesterday but it rained hella-hard almost all day. It should be dry today so I will do a selective chop of the top of ZD and maybe GT. They are nowhere near done yet but at least I'll get a something from them and lighten their load for the rain that's coming. Until we get a freeze, I'll keep chopping away on them.

Doc has mentioned before that an elevated bed works well outdoors so I think pots or in the ground should be good with the kit.

In loving the color on the liberty Haze. To bad it couldn't finish properly.

Sent from this funny device I carry around and still call a phone even though I hardly ever make calls with it.

If you use smart pots or air pots, feeders will get through it anyway, so why not just put them directly in the ground? Makes more sense to me, especially if you want to harvest a lot.
