Fun, Friendly But Still Serious Outdoor Guerrilla Grow Show 2018

Welcome welcome!

Beautiful plants @Smeegol and thanks for spreading the fun!

@Preston9mm thanks for the tip! I’m very interested in that Amnesia, so cool to do a comparison!

Texas growing is hardcore you Texans! #trueguerrillagrowers

Put seedlings out after the risk is no longer. Harden them off by first doing a few hours in the shade then introduce the plants to sun the next day for two or three hours, increase by two hours a day in a week to 10 days they will be ready to go in the ground, don't use the dome you want the plants to get at the air. How old are they now?

Also, when do you recommend putting seedlings outside? Should I harden them off by using a dome outside for a bit?

:rip::rip:
The 5 that I just killed :rip: went outside way too soon. Maybe 5-7 days old. Even with my soaker house running twice a day, the top of the soil couldn't retain enough moisture to sustain my seedlings. Amended this by adding a thick bed of moss over the soil.
The Amnesia Haze went outside after about 14 days in the veg room. She seems to have taken to it much better.
My considerations on the topic:
Wind/sun exposure; if the grow site is exposed to extreme wind or sunlight maybe wait and extra week or two before setting them out.
Soil type (how well it holds water) and how often you can make it out to tend the plants. If you can't keep the soil wet, seedlings may be unhappy.
I have used a halved soda bottle over seedlings in the past to create a little personal sized greenhouse. Holds good humidity and protects from the elements.

But, to answer your question... I have no fucking clue. LoL  I'm just wingin' it here. Just lessons learned from the 5 I just killed.

Ok, I’m thinking cause they are autos I’ll need to put them in their final homes which are heavy and was hoping to put them right out lol! I did that with a seedling last year that had the shell stuck on her head, put her out and she grew big and strong! I assume I was lucky with that lil one and she was in coco so soil and cannabis is all new to me.
I’m an outside gardener, so I’m hoping some of those skills will come in handy:D
Ok harden them off first after about 1-2 weeks is what the plan is...I guess I’ll drag in my pots. Or I’ll move them in the garage with my small light until they are ready. How do y’all deal with critters? Do you do need treatments or just let nature do it’s thing?

Thanks guys

I make little "tomato cages" out of old fence material to keep rabbits & armadillos out.

I also set a perimeter of "seven dust" about 10 feet away from where they grow. I haven't really been chasing pests too aggressively like I should. I get the occasional nibble on a leaf but hasn't become a nuisance yet.

If you are close to woods slugs can be a PITA as far as bugs go grab some Neem Oil, dilute it and spray plants you see being chewed by insects. Spray after sun goes down or you will burn the plants up. As far as animals go build a chicken wire fence around the girls. Rabbits and deer will make your plants non existent in no time. Autos can be hard to get started outside. What I did for the autos I grew outside last summer was wet soil( I used Pro-Mix and peralite , cut the bottom off two litre pop bottles and shove into the soil with the top opening at the top. Keep soil damp and avoid hot sun. Once the plants are up out of the soil remove the bottles and take 2 litre milk cartons and cut them in half bottom side up and cut two of the sides out this will let sun and air get to the plants....Keep soil damp at all costs and turn the milk cartons rotated so all of the plant gets even sun, hope this helps you.

Yup I will probably also have to do something to keep rabbits away there's a lot around here.. Also slugs so I will have some slug bait on hand.
The wire fence roll I use has varying sized gaps. Tight on one side (1" X 4") and larger (4X4) gaps at the other end. Keeps rabbits out while seedling, acts as a support when grown.

Thanks that's good advice for sure. No deer here just the rabbits and slugs and insects to worry about. I have a big garden but it is couple hundred feet from the treeline so slugs aren't really an issue nor the rabbits, they don't like to be far from cover with all the foxes and eagles around here.. The girls will be right in the middle of the woods though so I expect a few visitors. I will definitely be starting them inside for a couple of weeks.

I have to fight the deer and pigs, seven dust does not work. lol I have found that if I urinate around the plants that will keep the larger pests away.

I'm in Newty! I had six plants outside now since the first of the month and so far they've survived two frosts and are (for the most part) still kicking. What are the rules for what I can enter? I have three ATFs, two bagseeds and G-13 outside. I suspect I'll use the hardiest of them all for the grow, which will probably be a bagseed if hybrid vigor has any play in it.

I have two ATFs, one bagseed and the G-13 in the 5 G buckets, and the other ATF and bagseed will likely go in the ground.

Plus I have some companion/camouflage plants on the go as well. I planted a dozen sunflowers a few days ago and now there are seven up and on the go

Nice content kids, I can tell you are kids,, perhaps save some of it for your porn sites

HHeya Alberta, cheers to ya

WWhen to put outside,, for me, I check the forecast qnd look at the night time lows for the first few days,, they cant be too cold,, 8, 9, worked for me

MMy loley auto, unknown strain

Has been outside for eight nights now,, and enjoying our recent sun, indeed

All the control one gains by taking these plants indoors is completely lost when outdoors. I find outdoors quite a challenge,, Watering is my biggest issue perhaps

Some minimal context

karma sent to Alberta, all of it and you too friend

Mine have taken two nights below zero now, and I suspect maybe another one tonight, here in New Brunswick.

"Mine have taken two nights below zero now, and I suspect maybe another one tonight, here in New Brunswick."

once the plant has become acclimatized, after a few nights of, hopefully, a few degrees above zero,, they can handle cold better,, why it is helpful to look for the first few days of higher nightime temps

That's how I started them off the first of the month. It was fairly warm those nights and cooled down over the next few. Last year they never went out until May 15 and they survived one frost.

A couple of them have cold damage on some of the leaves, but so far they're doing pretty good. Won't be much longer anyway. And if the worst happens I have plants indoors I can clone plus more seeds.
