OK quick brownie update!
Brownies turned out good; not great.. Was pretty well toasted by the time I went to bed with a nice all over buzz but a bit sleepy. Think I cooked too long again... Not the brutal mind-spinning head stone that I was hoping for but not bad.. Got a bit of slowed vision, by which I mean I noticed that when I turned my head to look at whatever, the blur would last a bit longer (seemed like it!), and I was aware of my limbs.. Which sounds like classic stoner talk now that I read it (have you ever seen your fingers 'fing'? That sort of thing).
Next time, no decarb and less time boiling/cooking..
I almost forgot to get pics, so here are 3... Left over coconut oil and finished fudge brownies (packet mix), which turned out delicious.. I added extra chocolate and some chopped up gummie bears-yum! Will use this mix again with or with out cannabis!
Smoke reports are difficult.. The biggest problem is that I can't stop smoking BEFORE I try the new things.. I'm already a bit stoned, so hard to pick subtle (or major) differences....! Need to rest from it today and try a brownie early, like 2 pm, if I can wait that long, then follow up with some hash..
The QWET/hash turned out nice. Very clean taste; very subtle 'hash' flavour and some thick smoke; burns away almost completely with no ash and very little residue... The high is clean and tingly but not too strong. Gives a nice 'face' feel without being heavy or cloudy. Mellow but lasts a while..
I have tried all the strains but mostly mixed up or smaller buds.. Saving the big thick tops for after curing..
The Choc Mint might just turn out to be the pick of the bunch... It's maintaining the choc mint smells but it's very rich and complex. The smoke is smooth and tasty, very clean, with a hint of the choc mint, some pine and antiseptic hints and almost menthol coolness. It hits quickly but softly and creeps quietly, ending up as a nice all over buzz that is relaxing and not too distracting.. Definitely one for all occasions, a good social strain; and even if you are not going to get up and run a marathon on this, it's not too 'couchy', either. I can talk and focus and enjoy being aware that I'm pretty out of it without any danger of accidentally drooling on myself or whatever.. This will definitely age well. In 3-6 months, the jarred choc mint will be the best all round weed of the bunch, I reckon.. Strong enough to keep the high tolerance crowd happy (ahem), and easy enough to deal with for the beginner (with care) that there should be no freak-outs..*
*Not a guarantee!
The SOG is on another level; it's also a bit of a creeper but hits a bit harder once you get there... Smells sweet until you chop up, then it's hints of cat-piss, pine and mint. Beautiful flavour and a delicious candy finish make this a pleasure to smoke, it's strong enough that you "notice" it.. Very fun weed. Goes great with a few beers on an empty stomach (!). I noticed an elevated mood combined with elevated attitude.. I don't know if I would call it 'euphoric', but I was certainly a lot happier for a while. I'm already hyper (properly, with all the fun symptoms that go with it; maybe more on that another time.), so while excessive, unhelpful thinking is the norm for me, this stuff kinda twisted the usual negative stressing into a much more pleasant focus-shifting experience; I would just lock onto random thoughts for 5-15 minutes at a time, eg my next post on 420 would be written or a design for a movable garden bed or why cat hair seems to collect in the darndest places, which would move into a consideration of the physics of fluid movement and how cat hair is just flotsam and will be pushed wherever the air flows.. That sort of thing. The only problem I had with this is that all these happy musings would happen in the middle of trying to get shit done, so I'd be trying to put away tools or clear up some rubbish and every half an hour or so I'd notice I'd just been pacing up and down and thinking about cat hair (with an armload of rubbish or tools!) for like 5-10 straight minutes.. I pace when I'm occupied or concentrating (I need to move), and I caught myself pacing a LOT on the SOG..
The Atomic is similar to the CHMOG in that it will get better with age. I admit that I have been staying away from the Atomic this week, as it is the smallest yield, so I am saving it! But it is good smoke. A bit more insistent than the Choc Mint; hits a bit faster but builds a bit as well. A nice even stone that is a bit more 'heady', with some nice clean piney/citrus flavours. This goes well mixed with either the CHMOG or SOG, and will be a go-to smoke after the cure, until it is gone!
GTH is another one I've only had a bit of. She's a hard one to pin down.. If the SOG is an indica hybrid, and I got a Chemy pheno with it's almost speedy onset, then the GTH is definitely mostly sativa. First impressions are that it is strong! Very peppery/spicy smelling in bud form, the smoke is the same. Strange, dirty-tasting exhale, it is tasty in it's own way... Need to smoke more of it.
It's a very tingly high you can feel in the face and back of the head.. A touch of paranoia/anxiety, but within acceptable limits.. Very alert, not like the introspective SOG; it's def a bit more jumpy but not out of control; noticing leaves falling in your peripheral vision; suddenly noticing your phone is not nearby and having to find it now; stuff like that..
All in all, a pretty good spectrum of smokables.. Bovedas are doing well; the saved gear is all sitting at around 65/66%RH and dropping.. Need to go burp them now, hopefully for the last time.
Will come back later for a real time report on the brownies if I remember!
