Flytier's Quasi-Aquaponic Salmon-Based Organic Autoflowering Perpetual SPoG® SoG

Lol how's it going buddy?

Well, the plants are, for the most part, doing pretty good, but I'm beginning to realize that I'm probably going to invest in a new lighting system sometime next year, but not in the near future due to funding limitations.

So here's the King's Kush CBD, still doing good with the budding. I may get rid of a few fan leaves today so the buds can get a little more light

This NYC Diesel is having a nice growth spurt, whereas...

... this one is lagging a bit behind. This is the one on shitwater, but she's had a bit of a rough go of it from earlier on
DSCI1573.jpg

And my poor Jack Herer! The goddamn cat got two good smacks in the head this morning. It happened in the time it took for me to go get my camera
DSCI1575.jpg

This JH is in behind and out of the line of fire. She's on the shitwater trial now
DSCI1574.jpg

This is my new NYCD. also in the trial

And my Early Miss. This one may not even make a SPoG®. She may get pulled next week for another seed. Three weeks old, believe it or not
DSCI1577.jpg

These Dwarf Low Flyers are doing good. The first of the two is also on the shitwater

So that's that for today's update. I just opened up a brand new can of Maxwell House and I'm going to go get a coffee. There's something about the first one out of the can that does it for me. Perhaps the freshness, maybe knowing that I don't have to go buy another can for a few weeks, who knows? Maybe it's just the placebo effect, but the first coffee out of the can is always the best. Hmmmm, with that babble you'd think I have something to smoke, but not this week.

Just like the first beer is always the tastiest!

Sort of, but with beer, each successive one goes to a brain that's more and more dulled. I had to give up on the beer though, because I can't take the hangovers anymore (not like I ever really could).

That's why I only drink one (1) good beer a day!:thumb:

You know, I never really thought of it like that, but I'm sure a statement like that can get you out of some kind of a bind if you use it right in a debate.

Now anyone on here who knows me knows that I have a bit of a deficiency when it comes to long-term patience, but this morning I turned it into an advantage. I was staring into my growroon in sort of a days-off bored kind of stupor and I saw a spot where I could try out my new tall pot. I hiked up the light in that corner and filled it with soil (the pot, not the light). I got four ice cream buckets of soil in it, so I'm guessing that it holds about eight litres. (Time span - about one minute.) I just did a calculation, and at 6"/15cm diameter and 18"/45cm height it worked out to 7.952L - pretty close.

I put in the last Early Miss seed, which I've been having terrible luck with, as in zero successful plants out of four so far, to see what happens. I did notice one thing when I was filling it: I used the soil that was in the unused stacked pots and found that the bottom of the soil was highly affected by the cold floor. This setup will give the seeds warmer soil to germinate in, hopefully alleviating a problem I've been having with winter growing. I didn't start growing until last spring when I didn't have this to worry about. But looking at the CKS website, it says the EM is good for 10 deg C. Don't seem like it to me, unless there's another factor that I'm not taking into account.

But anyway, here's what I'm looking at now
DSCI1584.jpg

It isn't perfectly vertical because in trying to get as much floor space as I can, the near side of the water catcher is up about 3/8" from the floor, resting on the guide for the sliding door. Maybe I can make use of that area later on to do some photo plants in starter pots, keeping the tall pots toward the rear.

But for now, I'll just monitor and see how this baby works with the plants. I'm expecting (emphasis thereon) some pretty good results. So far, I've had pretty good luck in here with King's Kush CBD (but I can't buy them locally), Revolver, NYC Diesel, Jack Herer, Dwarf Low Flyers, and moderately good results with Candy Cane, all autoflowers. When the wife gets up and goes to work I'll probably make another pot. I gotta get a new drill - don't know where the hell my old one went - to try some pots with holes to compare to the slots in this one, as per the suggestion of... I don't recall for sure, but I think it was one of the guys out on the west coast.

So to those who expressed interest in this new pot, let's watch and see where this goes.

I've yet to sit apart on the concrete floor so I too would be a victim of temperature. Definitely interested to see how this goes. Great use of a day off my friend LOL.

Hey thanks Guy, but I can't help thinking I should be getting some overtime. There's lots of egg-picking I could be doing. But after maxing myself out yesterday I just said screw it. I had to keep up with three guys running eggs through the sorters, by counting eggs and putting them back into the tanks, which, on a normal day, is done by two people, but everyone else was up with the vaccinators. I had to cheat and take shortcuts every chance I had, and when one of the water pumps crapped out and dropped the water level I was relieved. Busy busy busy.

And I have two days to work on my projects...

Get some cat grass going man . I swear it'll save your plants lol it's worth setting up a cfl and getting a couple deterrent pots going:P

That's a good idea......some companion gardening. Setem up outside the grow, keep our creatures at bay.
