Fluxing It Up One Last Time! The Flux To End All Fluxes! LA Style!

Congrats Light on being recognized and being able to be a participant at a canna cup. You deserve all the good that will eventually reach you.:thumb:

LA....brother from another mother. Just my opinion bud....but with your connection with solid genetics + your love for the plants.....I think you would have a very good chance in a cannabis cup. Does it hafta be a pheno or can it be an auto? Keep kickin ass my friend! :volcano-smiley:

Hey my friends!

thanks Latin and Scottay :)

Scottay, I could enter either photo or auto if I wanted, yet if I do go for it I'll be using photo period plants for sure!
The way its worked they obviously have all samples lab tested and then award on THC content, CBD content, and how clean your bud is! etc etc.
Its my lack of time to run multiple plants of a few chosen and targeted strains to select best pheno type and then run again to ensure my best chances etc that's the issue!
So not sure if I want to commit to this, when I've not the time to really build a solid shot. I'll be up against experienced comp growers that have huge spaces to select from hundreds of plants etc.!!!
I'm still considering it all, but also spoke with my girl at length the other day and she's happy to move to Spain asap as a stepping stone to the US. So next year I'll be entering no matter what lol. :)

Good morning LA

Congratulations on the great opportunity to enter the C-Cup. One thing to consider, there will always be growers with more plants to choose from then you unless of course you start mass production. Any way you look at it it will be a David verses Goliath story and while the odds may not be in your favor because of plant selection, IMO you are a great grower and you have tremendous love and heart for this plant. Very few are even given the opportunity to compete and even fewer will win. So unless you will not be allowed to compete next year if you do not rank high enough I would say go for it, you never know I read somewhere that David actually beat Goliath one time.. but hey it was a long time ago according to the story ;)
If you grow this year or wait till next years competition I have faith in you my friend

Don't do it till your ready my friend......................... I could have a seat at the next Oregon Cannabis Cup,, but I'm far from ready to take them up on that. I did throw my Vantage I grew out afew years back for that cup.... But the place I was talking to about the sponsorship just wanted to buy all my product. F them fools. They wanted to make more than me off my herbs. Mommy never raised a fool...... Keepem Green

Hey Light. Happy to here you are gonna make the first move to get state side. As for you entering the CC. Could you go the first time even though you don't have all your ducks in a row and make lemonade out of lemons, then come back next year and blow everyone out the greenhouse. Also I think they need to open the CC comp. to plant structure or the Flux. No kidding just me here thinking without any:volcano-smiley:LOL. Getting ready to soak some seeds and will flux. Had to do an refresher on flux as I been semi fluxing but I'm back on my grow game.

This would be my strategy for sure. Scope out the scene, submit your plant, and come back from CC with a plan. The next year, slam your domino on the table and say..."this ain't my first ride at the rodeo..." or something like that...lol. Plus it would be great promotion for your technique since you pioneered that. Turn your hesitation into test and research mode...maybe? Congrats for having the choice to compete, you're going to be growing anyways either way. Oh and I haven't posted here before, but I have been following your journal. Just wanted to encourage you to be your best...that's all. Have a groovy day!:thanks:

Hi LA! Lots of great news going on here. Just getting back in the swing of things. Very cool on moving to Spain. That then the US. That's going to be awesome. Always awesome visiting your journal!

Well hell thanks folks :)

I'm still undecided on whether to enter the comp or not... Its simply as I'd be representing either one or both of my best contacts. To say these are both huge names in the Canna industry would be an understatement! Theyre both used to winning awards and operate to the very highest standards. So going in half prepared and putting my name on the line on behalf of such companies is not something I want to do.
Ha! I suppose I'm kind of answering it here right now lol. So it looks like I'm gonna give this years a swerve! :) :)

I'll secure my entry for next time round on behalf of them both and then I've a year and a bit to get organised, strain select, then pheno select then dial in for the best damn shot at it I can produce. Then I'll be going with some real self belief, and yeah some proper expectations for sure. When I step up, its gonna be to smash it out the park...! :)

Better than going in half assed and in my eyes jeopardizing the reputation I've already built :)

I think this is a good idea. You've got a lot of new things going on, and adding too many things to your plate right now could get very stressful. By giving yourself a year to plan and put your ducks in a row will put you in a better position for that home run. Wait, what do you call it when all the bases are loaded and then someone hits a home run? That's what you'll do!

LA.....thats fairplay my friend. I think if you have a year to dial down on specific gentic traits you really like I could see your THC 27+% .......maybe 30.....that real super knock you out kinda flower! *evil laugh* cant wait for this Deathstar! Ooooo-la-la:volcano-smiley:

Top of the morning Light. When you put it like that. It makes sense to wait and do it right. I thought it was something that you had already prepared for. But all good thing come to those wait. Thats one thing I have learned since I started growing. Patience. Like you said you don't want to put your name on something and ruin your REP. Which is all we have in this community. When you enter, will you be doing a journal? are there any rules that you can't publicize you entry until after the contest.:goodluck:

Bollox just wrote my post and it vanished lol.

So Dr :). No choice has been made yet strain wise as I've a couple of seed companies to choose from, or try for both lol. So I've lots of choice strain wise and will run a ton of new lines now to explore what ones I want to run.

Latin :) of course I'll start a dedicated journal for this adventure, just got to finish up my current missions! :) it should be quite a long path; strain selecting, then pheno and finally dialing those chosen plants in :)

In the meantime I may be doing a smaller warm up comp over here in blighty! Just waiting on dates, but if all is good I'll enter this one to find my feet before going for the big ones where I represent a big name! :)

In plant news my 2 new strains to choose my mega flux from are up and ready to be potted up! :) (strawberry cough and the orange hill special)

So have some pics of my wee scrapped off flux! She is gonna get a cpl more weeks veg and then she will get flowered out with all my other cupboard dwellers :)

Cheers Pennywise :)

So folks Mr Dirt had an idea a while back and its a damn interesting one! Basically running a moderated flux, running her into a loop shape then actually grafting the 2 main ends together to create a closed loop plant!

Well as I've a cl of new girls going for my big flux, I'll use which ever doesn't make the cut for this experiment! So it shouldn't be that long before we have something else fun going :)
