Fluxing Incredible! - Building It With Brix - DBHBB

I would run at 2,3 smaller pots with same soil and conditions/environment run along side the big one...
you can use it/them as a tester or test crash dummy. :)
Just talked to Canna...are you saying to flux 2 or 3 more or just have 2 or 3 more considered in the same grow? We have 2 right now that were started at the same time in the kit as well. Just didn't plan on fluxing them. What exactly were you thinking bud?

:reading420magazine:

I've seen a 5 month veg that ended up in a 20 gallon pot and produced almost 2 pounds and the soil kept its energy. That was OPP. If you know what OPP is then youll know who I'm talking about. Going with the whole 60 gallons in one pot? It'll make it for a year no problem...easy. Good luck you two

Im thinking just smaller pots of the same HB soil so you can play with the amendments EWC foliars etc without jeopardizing the large pot. You will be in Unchartered territory. Like Docs backyard, almost.
Awesome experiment!

Adding the amendments earlier than instructions suggest may help.
I would try some earthworms in a pot too.

Yup earthworms are great I have a few in the soil currently and you can even feed them kitchen waste and they will poop for you. I also suggest Diatomaceous earth in some part of the pot for that added strength from silica. Also you can use some P rich composted matter like banana peels, soy husks, nuts, bone meal and much more. I love the natural way- just add water and some food for the worms eventually.

tumula, just so you know Docs HB kit doesn't call for use of peels, husks, etc..
you can use some leave, stems from the grow, but the other stuff will lower the brix number. :Namaste:

Dont add anything to the kit! Just what Ziggy said...thats it. Not the woody stems either

I'll be watching for sure. I've seen a 6 pound plant before. Greenhouse, planted in early March, harvested in October.

It had it's own 10x10x3 raised bed.
Well a 65 gallon is 36" in diameter. That's the biggest we can go to get it into the flower room. Well we are going to make the pot ourselves, so it could become rectangular. We have a bit before we get to that part but it's always nice to have a plan.

I don't see having to add amendments and such until the first of the year atleast. Oh and how much supplies do you reckon we will need for this? As in how many "kits" would you think? Buy the stuff by the gallon since we will have plenty of others going along side it as well.

I just use aged compost with whatever comes with it. Bringing the outdoors indoor. It's a weed, nature no science needed. Just a piece of poo used over and over again. Heh even the molecules my body is composed of were all once a piece of poo. How do you measure the brix of cannabis? I have seen people measure fruit juice with refractometer but the final flavor is still subjective when you are few points apart. I mean with healthy soil and happy plant the results are gonna be good. The bacteria are gonna do the job for you. But yeah, I get it not everyone can has his own vermicompost, brews his own tea with tons of compost lying around for years. It is nice kit for people with limited space and time.
I make my tea from the most vigorous growing weed's parts. If you take it on another level outdoors you can make use of sheet mulching and rock, old tree trunks, fish pond etc. to make your own biotope with all the predators guarding your crops. Heaven. Peace. :Namaste:

its 1 1/2 times the size of 6 x 7 gallon pots, which is kit size..:)

sooooo...1 1/2-2 times normal kit instructions..

tumula, Nismo is using Docs' HBBKit in this experiment of 1 year grow in HB soil. Typical HB soil in pots can go 2-4 times with some using soil runs for less and even more.
yes, its tested with a refractometer. :)
I have no doubt you grow awesome herb. :) :Namaste:

I know refractometer is used but how exactly with cannabis? You juice the bud? Or leaves? The levels must wary significantly throughout the day. I mean plants use leaves for storing sugars from photosynthesis right? So at the beginning of the day they are more empty than at the end of the day. And consumed during the night so my bet is you will get more brix at night. So what is the best time to measure? I want to get the brix meter hopefully for Christmas so I'm interested. Thanks. Happy growing man! :Namaste:

I'm curious also. We have always tested close to lights out since that's when it was convenient. Take the leaves, fold them up, put them in a c-clamp, squeeze the juices onto refractometer, and whammo. Oh they cost $25 on the zon btw.
