First Timer - Hoping for Big Things to Happen - 400 HPS White Rhino

You can grow some massive plants in 3 gallon pots, any more and you're looking out outdoor plants. People do use 5 gallons inside and sometimes more , but your's should be fine with the size they are now. 3gallon has always been like the magic number for me indoors.

Although if you have the pots and the medium available and there is enough space don't see why not it will probably on make them bigger. Plus you wont have to feed again for another 2 weeks in new soil.

So I moved the girls into their new mansions. The roots looked good and busy but alos a little crowded so I hope this helps. On a few plants, some of the leaves are starting to turn yellow and getting some brown spots. It seems to start at the tips. Also, it's mostly on the lower leaves. I haven't given them any nutes in 2 weeks. Does anyone know what I can do to correct this? They were looking so good a few days ago and now all of the sudden this is happening. Also, as far as the molasses goes, I don't have an airstone. Will mixing it in the water at the ratio given and set out over night before feeding still help? I don't have the other stuff to make the tea mixture. I'm not sure how important this is or how much it will help. Also, it was suggested earlier at some point that I add some Rhino skin to the ladies. What does this do? As always, thanks for all the advice guys. I would love to give you all a nug. Peace and respect!!!

Yellow and brown leaves. Does anyone have any suggestions? Please and thanks.

Stems are a bit purple too. Does this mean anything?

Yellowing on the tips of the leaves. I haven't fed them in over 2 weeks. I need a doctor. Does anyone know what the problem is and have a solution? Thanks in advance.

So I'm not really sure if they need nutes or are getting burned by them. I haven't really fed them much lately. I did give them a very dilluted amount yesterday to see if that would help. The tops of the plants are doing really well but I've got a lot of yellowing leaves on the bottom. Plus a lot of the tips are turning yellow or brown. I'm not sure if I should give them more nutes or not. Also, one plant is kind of a lime green while the other 4 are a darker healthier green. This one seems to be growing slower. Any advice on that as well? You can tell which one it is in the picture below. They've been coming along so nice lately and I really don't want to screw them up now. Thanks

Feed feed my brother, looks like a PK defficency, A good NPK will sort them. The edges and yellowing from bottom is a K deff, the Dying browning on the bottom and red stems is a P deff. A feed will sort that mate. Remove worst affected to stop them dying and rotting. But the new soil may cover this, if not feed. :)

JBC, thanks brother! You're cooler than Clyde my friend. :bravo: I gave them a nice meal and they are looking like they want to take a walk down the red carpet. I wasn't sure if I was over feeding before and giving them some nute burn but you were right, they were just some hungry girls. I guess I was just being a bit timid. I gave them a good trim and they are plumping up nicely and even look a healthier shade of green. They are bushing out like crazy. I ordered a light mover because I think the whole tent is going to fill up soon. Much love!

OK, so I cut the lights back today finally... (day 64) I switched to the HPS bulb and gave them a bit of dry ice co2 2 days ago for an attempt at one last vegg boost. I don't know how much it helped but it was kinda cool to do. I sealed the room and put about 15 lbs of dry ice in some water and let it go to work for about 3 hours. I think the ladies liked it. So now the fun really begins. I will try to get pics on here weekly to show their progress and hopefully big fat buds before too long. I hope everyone enjoys the show. PEACE!!!

Here's some delicious CO2

Hey Jimmy,

I did get a fogger and it worked great. Just put it in a bucket in the corner and have a small clip on fan (or whatever you've got) blow it onto the plants. You don't want the fan blowing directly into the bucket though because that will bring up the RH too much. I had to adjust a few times but I got it up to around 55-65% and I could tell a difference right away. The plants really liked it. Once they got bigger though the plants started bringing up the RH on thier own and I didn't need it anymore. Good luck and let me know how it turns out.

So things are looking good for the most part. I've got little white hairs shaped like V's (I'm guessing these are their lady parts showing) popping out around the where the leaves hit the stems. I gave them a good watering yesterday. There are still some leaves near the bottom turning yellow. I'm not sure if I should give them more nutes or not. When I do feed, I give them full strength but only about a 1/5 gallon per plant. (I mix in a 1 gallon container and dibby it out 5 ways) Should I be giving them more? Also, the stems are still very red. The night temp always gets down to 59F. I've read that this can give them these colors so I think that's ok. The HPS bulb doesn't seem to get as hot as the MH bulb. The daytime temp has been around 68-70. I do have an exhaust fan hooked up to the light that I just dissconnected to see if I can bring that up a bit. Overall, they are looking nice. I try to get the light to some of the lower areas to promote more flowers. Will it affect the upper buds if I prune some of the fan leaves to let more light get down below? As always, thanks for the answers and advice. :allgood:

Hey JBC,

It looked like they perked up nicely after the dry ice. I think that they really enjoyed so I will try to do a few more times between now and harvest. I gave them some molassas today. Overall, they are looking good from the top. They are getting more white hairs and the bud sites are getting more defined. Unfortunately there are still have yellow leaves forming on the bottom. One plant is starting to get some rust discoloration on some of the leaves. Should I feed them heavier? Right now, they are in 5 gallon pots and I give them about a 1/5 of a gallon of full strength nutes when I feed. It takes about 3/4 of a gallon of water to get some run off out the bottom of the pots. Should I be feeding them that much? I just don't want to overdo it. Also, should I just always give them molassas from now on or do you just do that every so often? I really just want to find a nice balance. It would be a kick in the teeth if I really screwed them up this far along. As always, PEACE my brotha! :thanks:

Still some yellow bastards

But still looking good

Thanks for reps wildbill!

Yeah greentrees, up that feed now, Yellowing looks like N deff, still got the dying ends which is P deff and edges of blades is a K deff, the rust is a Calcium deff and the yellowing maybe a Magnesium deff as well as N, So up the NPK's and some Cal/Mag should steer them back on course. A good all round food with all the Macros and Micros should do the trick mate :thumb:

Thanks guys for the reps and advice! JBC has been teaching me a lot and been steering me the right direction. I did give them a good feeding the other day and most of the yellowing has slowed down. One plant is still being a bit stubborn so I'll give her another good meal and hopefully that will make her happy.

I gave them another good dry ice CO2 bath and things are looking good. Lot's on pistels popping out everywhere.
