First time grower: need some help please

Was setting up the Carbon filter and extraction fan so I had to remove them from the tent for a few mins so put them in my shed nice and safely, went back 5 mins later and everything on the shelves in shed had fallen on the two plants!! Branches snapped, absolutely heart broken. The banana has only lost about 30% i am still hopeful it will produce nice buds . But the gelato took a big hit and lost around half the plant! All a learning curve I most definitely won’t let it happen again but that doesn’t help the sadness :(

but does the carbon filter look ok the way I have it or is it too close to the light?

thanks,
Smokeypep
Yep filter looks right...and I have had it happen a few times...I keep my oscillating fan on a 5 gal bucket to raise it higher, and didn't have it strapped down :thedoubletake::thedoubletake: and I've done it training my girls, and it's worse when you do it on purpose

filter and fan have worked like a charm, thanks so much for that advice. Hopefully now I can just doctor up the plant as best I can . Well keep updated. Thanks again

Hi @Smokeypep14 !

To just judge from a quick glance I dont see anything a miss. If You've got the space, so maybe do some LST to improve yeild.

As far as anything else, you'll need to supply more information.

Click on the link in my signature "how to ask for grow support " there are sections you can copy paste with just fill in the blanks.

I just got my first seed to bust out an i was wanting to know if regular ol yard dirt is alright for the seed to start out in or not

Wish I could tell you, but soil isn't an area I've looked into much. Just make sure at minimum it's not too hot/rich for a seedling and has proper drainage?

NO! Absolutely not...you'll end up chasing your tail on that one :thedoubletake: ...IF, you live in a rural area, you may be able to amend it but even then it won't be ready for a month...best bet is to get a soil that buffers your PH... :hmmmm: even Miracle Grow would be better than "regular ol yard dirt" been there done that

hey everyone. Plants have responded brilliantly after the avalanche .

faux farm or promix are one of the higher end soils you could go with.

At this stage I would try a light pruning to get better light penetration. Start from the bottom, work your way up. Keep some of the larger leaves. Use sterilized scissors. Have fun!

Hi everyone . Plants have responded so well after the accident the other weed, I am thinking I may take the carbon filter out for the remainder of the grow as the light can’t go any higher with the filter in there and the top buds are gonna be way to close to the light I think? Appreciate all feedback please
Thanks

Are they autoflower? If I was you mate I would try and do more LST , if they are not fully flowering which you should be able to tell as you will have white hair/pistols shooting out of all the bud sites - you can LST until they stop stretching really - and you can be quite rough with them too, get the branches down nice and low it will do them and you a world of good - but like I say it depends how far into flower they are,.

If they get too close to the light you will just fry them pal

Just had a proper look at pic mate - I would still try and get these tied down , you have nothing to loose , like I say if these are too close to the light you will just fry the tops and they will be no good to you

your carbon filter should be set as the exhust for the heat.

On your next grow you should do some topping and LST training when they are in vegative stage. This will help you grow more yields and not to have to worry about the plant getting so tall in your little space.
