First Time Grower: 600W 3x3x6 Girl Scout Cookies, Northern Lights AF & OG Kush AF

I've given them a little trim just to help them fit in the grow tent better. I think I didn't cut off to much. I've also added fancy yellow name tags.

Good evening everyone. Here are some pictures of generation 2, the Blueberry Kush and the Pineapple Express. They seem to have recovered but I think I made a mistake in not transplanting them before I went away on my trip a week ago. The big pineapple express was re-potted before and the others after.

I've also topped the bigger pineapple express plant twice already and it seems to love it.

The blueberry kush plants look like they're starting to flower, but that can't be yet right? They're autos, sure but they were put in soil on the 21st of Nov.

If they are flowering already, should I give up on them? They're so small and I'm not sure if they'll recover. Any advice/thoughts?

Hello Kushy. Just checking out your journal. I use the same size tent but never had to balls to putt a 600 watt in there. Your temps are decent even though your reflector isn’t air cooled—sweet. What’s the temp of your room outside of the tent? Curious as I’m currently light shopping.

Also, if you need a little more height in your tent, consider move your filter and fan out if circumstances allow. That may get you a few more inches of space to work with. I generally stack that stuff on top of my tent so I can raise the light up to the bar when needed.

Hey Gadfly! Thanks for the advice, much appreciated. I'll try that today. It's cool to know you have the same size tent. Are you currently growing anything? I totally get your question regarding lights. In hindsight maybe I should have bought an air light because I have had issues with temperature in the tent I have. Truth be told I just experimented and I got a little lucky.

In the beginning I was getting max temps of 87-88 so I tried leaving the tent open which lowered it a little but then what really fixed the problem was when I drew air straight from outside. In the beginning my inline fan wasn't strong enough for the extended ducting but with a new stronger inline fan I brought temps down to an acceptable 80-82. I got luck mostly because the weather here is getting cooler too with temps in the low 40s and 30s and that has helped. The ambient temperature in the room that my tents are in is about 70-75 degrees.

I’m in between grows at the moment. I actually haven’t grown any in a few years. In my profile I have some old photos of my 1st successful tent grow. Those were done under a 400. I’ve been gearing up for another run. Talking to sponcers here about LEDs and such. Was thinking about going 600 but still haven’t made up my mind. 400, 600, converting to leds, so many choices. The addiction that comes with growing, finding ways to improve and upgrade.

Thanks for letting me jump into your journal. May give me the courage to go 600:D I think you would love the results of an air cooled hood, especially once you move out of winter. Hook up your ducting right to the hood and the hot gets pulled out immediately rather than having time to mix with the air in the tent.

I checked out your old grow. Nice plants you had. Air cooled lights is definitely something I'm thinking about and I'm interested in LED too but not sure if it's worth the price upgrade. I've got my set up already. The air cooled lights is something I think I'll need in summer when temps here can reach high 90s so it will be impossible to grow in that heat.

By the summer I'll need to change but I reckon I can do another grow after this one with the same setup. I appreciate you joining. Always love to have people interested.

Day 50: the GS cookies. They're looking nice and some of their pistils have started changing colours. I wonder how much I'll be able to get from them. It looks like they've stopped growing and the buds are starting to fill out.

Questions to the veterans/experts out there. Is it normal that they're drinking less now? I usually feed/water them on Sundays and Thursdays and I noticed that they're not light yet when picking them up, as well as still having moist soil.

Nothing has changed in terms of atmosphere/environment except maybe colder temps at night.

And these are the other girls. Also day 50. They've all stopped growing too. Sorry about the lighting but as they didn't need watering I didn't take them out of the tent.
