First Grow - Overwhelmed - Brown spots make me nervous!

I did a topic on watering.

When leaves look good but branches sag, the plant needs water. When the stems/branches are perky but the leaves droop, that usually indicates over-watering. Also, when a plant is in need of water, it will react almost immediately. The 1st pic is a very thirsty plant. The second pic is about 5-10 minutes later. In another 5-10 minutes it was completely back praying to the sun.

Very thirsty

Over watered - drowning

I would certainly say based on those photos mine classify as drowning.

I'll snap some photos and upload an update tomorrow, thanks!

I started my first grow in a cabinet that measured 3' wide, 2' deep and 4' tall, so pretty much the same as yours. You can take a look at some of the pictures of what I did to screen and, it turns out more importantly, how I tied my plants down to the screen to control height. (Link to my journal is in my sig) I ended up losing about 10" of height to creating a flood table because I was going to be taking some extended trips out of town and needed to be able to water in my absence. I had intended on using CFL's the entire grow, but ran into heat problems, and then ran into height problems (as in lack of it...not ideal spacing between lights and canopy) when I switched to LED.

I know watering around the screen is a pain, but you might consider some kind of "beer bong" setup: a funnel at the top of a long hose. You could drop the hose into your pots, beneath/through the screen, and then pour your nutrients into the funnel. :) This is what I might end up doing for watering my next grow, but I might still do a flood table, but drop the fixtures below the cabinet and place the reservoir directly underneath the cabinet.

Well, I awoke this morning and decided to water these plants, I took a before watering picture so I could test the theory above. The pots felt very light, and my finger test showed very little to no moisture. I used 1liter of carbon filtered and PH Adjusted (ph6) water and found very little runoff coming out of the pots (MAYBE 50ml). I waited an hour and took a 1hour after watering picture as well, I didn't see much change. I returned them into the cabinet and returned and took a two hour's after photo, same results... I'll check on them again tomorrow.

I tested the PH of the runoff and they ranged from 6.4-6.7, so PH shouldn't be a factor, correct? So, I'm thinking airflow may be an issue and getting another vent cut into the cabinet.

Everything above tells me they are too wet.
When they need water, they will react to getting it immediately. You can sit and watch them respond over a few minutes.
A finger in the top of the pot won't tell you anything. The perched water table is in the very bottom of the pot. That's the part that stays wet and causes root rot. The thirsty plant I posted above (in a 1 gallon pot) went three weeks to get to where it really needed water and it was outside in hot breezy weather.

just to give everyone an update, as I hate abandoned threads, I've yet to figure out what is causing discoloration in the plants. I've been watering by the weight of the pot over the past few weeks and the plants seem happy about that. I've used filtered water as discussed above and completely cut out any nutes since the soil I got was solid from the start. About two weeks ago I went into flowering to get this one over and start new, here is the progress:
