First Grow - Crop King White Widow & Hash Plant

I usually go by the rule of 6. 85% of plant matter (and most biological organisms) is water, so about 1/6th is actual solid "stuff". So, take your weight wet, divide by 6, and that's a good approximation of what your dry weight will be. Of course, there's some variance - Radogast can probably grow circles around me, so he probably gets denser buds, hence his rule of 4 - it'll just take practice and experience to figure out how you can best eyeball your yield prior to harvest.

I'm not a real good grower I've only 2 years under my belt - but I've made so many mistakes that I can often predict a failure and help you avoid it.

I ave noticed bud usually doubles in the last few weeks alone so I wouldn't get too impatient with your forest keep on growing!

Are the pictures you posted on April 4 Hash Plant or White Widow? If they are Hash Plant I'd say you still have 2-3 weeks from today. I have documented my entire grow of the Hash Plant, buds are curing right now. When I get the time I will post a grow journal thread.

Day 52 from switching to 12-12

Got a 60x's digital microscope on the weekend....very, very few amber. Not sure how long to do, but could still be a fair amount more time?

They're nice plants, but you got a ways. I'd say you want something like 60/40 cloudy/amber ratio, and your buds will likely be fatter than your lighter; e.g., you should be able to hide the lighter directly behind most top colas (based on an eyeball of your pots and heights).

My Hash Plant grow journal link is in my signature now. I harvested on day 63 of bloom. Your plants are still looking great, likely a good yield with dank buds to boot.

Do you count "bloom" as when you switched to 12-12? I am looking forward to your smoke report. I want a good yield, but quality is most important.

Yes, 63 days from the day I switched to 12-12. The bud is curing so will taste a little better but I smoked a test bowl tonight and enjoyed the high I got. Pretty strong 'spacey' head high at first and then it mellows out, not too drowsy either. I like it so far.

LOTS of new pistils - you go girl!

I felt like I overfed them a bit, so I didn't really feed them for a week and a half. I gave them a solid feeding yesterday and this was the response, tons of healthy looking white pistils! This has been such a fun learning experience, you really get to understand and know the plants and how they react to things.

Quick update, I'm thinking 2-3 more weeks?! Amber is at 10-15% under the microscope

Looks close! I'd start thinking about your last gasp stress (I assume you won't be flushing being organic). If you're looking to harvest at 50/50 cloudy/amber, I'd think about going all dark or lowering temps dramatically at about 30/70.

I'll toss an opinion into the ring...
I like my herb a good bit more amber than 50/50. I want my smokin friends to head back home dazed and confused after a sample session.
My target is much more in the 80/20 arena.

Began flushing tonight. I am going to flush for two weeks based on a very experienced grower's advice who has been doing organic for many years. I am estimating 2 weeks left, but I won't rush to cut if they aren't perfect. They are approx. 10-20% amber depending on the plant.
