First Grow - CFL - Bag Seed - Hempy Coco

I live 5 min from the ocean but I'm a large mouth bassman through and through. Grew up in the woods so all I ever fished was fresh water ponds and lakes. Bought A Pelican 14 footer 7 years ago to replace a sears 1973 one and put some cheap $30 seats and a electric motor on her. All I needed to be happy on the water. A small boat like that is impossible for my back to handle any more but I can sit on the banks with my little girl. She is old enough this year and wants to go. We see if a slimy fish changes her mind. Just one more place for people to ask me if shes my granddaughter. You'd think nobody ever heard of having a kid at 42. LOL. :peace:

welcome Scopopulus, Yeah they made it some how.
Well I Was board so I did a bit of LST to Beth. took the two branches below the top and used a bent wire to hold them down gently. It seemed to open up the lower veg to the light and should grow out nicely.

Wally world had 42W CLFs on sale for 6 bucks so picked up three for now should be a ok start for one short plant. Planning on 10 or 12 when I am flowering a full tent. and some 4' T5 tubes for side fill. :peace:

I am calling today day one of veg for the ICU Crew. Snapped sample Pics of the leaf deformities from when single blades burnt.
First two blade-three blade

Then Three blade-Three Blade

Then Beth's LST with a partial leaf blade trimmed off to let in a bit of light. She is mirror image on the other side. That fat blade below is 1.75" across on a three blade leaf.

The hold down to get branch out wide enough past the upper plant to go upwards. She is turning toward the light already

I did go back and trim the rest of those 4 leaves off and bent the branches down more horizontal. Figured better to stress her once than here and there. Way more light is reaching the rest of the plant those leaves were shading a lot for only three blades. I'll check for sings of stress tomorrow so far she ignores anything I do to her since getting her big girl bucket and just keeps charging ahead. Now just leave her be until the move to the tent. some nice lower branching coming to take a clone or two in case she is a she.:peace:

Thanks, Yeah it must have been the Ph, since I brought it down things have been much better. Not even filtering the water any more, good town supplied straight well water adjusted with General Hydro PH Down. Sent out a water sample and waiting the numbers but for now it seems to be working well on her and the little ones. They are looking strong again and will go into 2 Liter hempy's when Beth goes to flower. And the first seeds that failed were just to old and/or stored wrong. The last ones I just tried did the same, grow to a sprout and stop dead in their tracks so I feel better about their demise now. :peace:

Update on the crew. Starting to smell wonderfully bad but the tent just came and they shall have a new home this weekend. I will no longer call them the ICU crew they are looking happy and green, they range from 2.5-just over 4 inches tall. The last two seeds I planted have had no issues and are catching up to them.

There is a new seedling in the front and the first and third(behind seedling)in bottom row are the young additions.
I added a 150W equiv. 2700K CFL to Beth to get more light on her until she moves to the tent. She is bushing out nicely and wife says the whole floor smells like a skunk.

I am hoping to veg the crew for another week or two then move them to flower to join Beth.

Ok, I was reading up on pre-flowers and using them to guess sex. I say guess because they say it isn't 100% but use it as an indicator and to judge when to put to flower. Here is what I found

At first I thought they looked like female pre flowers but today it looks like what I thought were hairs are getting thicker. Since it is the only one going into flower right away it isnt a pollen issue but if it is turning out to be male I don't want to waste time on it. I know the pics aren't great but it is better than the phone regularly use and was hoping one of you fine people know what I am looking at? :peace:

OK Thanks T, I can always count on you guys even if to tell me how silly I'm being.;) I'm not rushing to get to harvest just dying to find out sex. I have a deep personal bond (like with a puppy) with this plant after all the hardships and shit we've been through plus she has been around for 2 1/2 months or more BUT I will kill him with hatred in in my eye and vengeance in my heart if she's a boy in a dress. LOL
Strange (but happy)mood this morning sorry get a little out there.

I read that having the pre flowers show is the indicator on when to flower. Will my switching to 12/12 now have any adverse effects by not being mature yet. I could move everyone to the tent and continue veg if need be. :peace:
