First Grow: Blue Sherbet Bagseed

I know I have a lot of unsurities because we will still recovering from last year's hurricane Ida where I lost everything in the store my house everything so everything is on a budget right now I don't have a lot of money to spend on in the nutrients and different types of things at this point because I'm still trying to get back to work because for the storm I was also in the automobile accident and had to get pins and plates in my ankle so I'm waiting for the doctor to release me back to work but the prices here are high for me right now so I was trying to grow my own to try to see you in a little bit money and see if I can do it now later on once I get back to where I need to be and then I'll be able to invest some money into you know different things but I was just trying to really see if I could do it if it was difficult but from what I can see as long as it has sunlight and water and good decent soil it seems to thrive pretty good so thank you for looking at my pictures and taking interest in my grow...
Sorry to hear about your tragic loss from the hurricane. Brighter days ahead my friend, especially if you get that plant to harvest. ☀️

That's a healthy looking plant you have there.
You can get a good yield in a 2x2 tent, especially if you train the plant.
I would suggest taking a look at this journal
Carcass is an expert at training a plant to fill a small space.

Thanks I will definitely check it out...

Assuming it is a photoperiod plant, be aware that if you are only giving it sunlight without supplementing it it will likely move into flower as soon as it is sexually mature (alternating nodes) if the night time hours are greater than 10.5 or so.

That happens while the plant is still quite small and will give you a very small harvest. You can keep it in a vegetative state and therefore grow it bigger by interrupting the night with even a normal bulb sometime in the middle of the dark period, timed so there is not say 12 hours of uninterrupted darkness. That's what causes it to flower.

And, since you're already growing in a 5 gallon bucket, you might as well come check out #SIP Club. You'll grow much larger plants without the learning curve of proper watering techniques.

Ok thanks. So what is the maximum amount of darkness it can have with out that happening because I definitely want it to grow a bit more.. I have some rechargeable led lights that I use for frogging they will light up the room for like 2.5hrs on low can this work? My wife is real finicky about leaving lights on 😂 ..

Most of us usually go 12 hours of darkness to ensure flowering but it actually is a bit less than that (10.5 will actually do it I think), so just turn it on somewhere in the middle of the dark period to break it up. Doesn't have to be right in the middle, just somewhere in there to break up the chunks. And 30 mins is probably enough. Don't have to do 2.5 hours.

Awesome thanks. I love that everyone is nice and helpful

Also, you're giving up quite a bit of root area by not having your bucket filled with grow mix. Depending on where your drainage holes are in your bucket you'd have plenty of room to establish the water reservoir we use in SIPS. The roots are what's going to power the plant later on in flower so you want to maximize the real estate you already have.

Are you planning to do any training? That's another  easy way to max out your harvest for very little extra effort. I'm partial to quadlining (link in my sig), but LST (low stress training) is another popular technique.

I am still reading about it and I think when my tent gets here I should have enough knowledge on dos and donts . So I will definitely check out the link.. thanks
