First grow | BIG BANG

How low do you wanna keep it? I am gonna ask Moose to run an experiment on a cheap plant, since he has more room than me, to do a shotening test for me. You would cut the top of the plant like you were going to top it, but only 1/2 way through with a razor.

This will mimic what happened to one of mine when a light fell on it. By the time I noticed, it had healed, started to split bud (Like it was topped) but the bottom BOOM'd out like mad. I will have pics up tonight in my journal. The thing bushed up like crazy, and is only a foot and a half tall with good budding.

So I wouldn't trim just yet if you want it fat, not tall. I also wouldn't trim at all during flowering, I would tie back leaves, but that's just my opinion.

hey guys need some help i have seen today my biggest plant is looking a little worse than yesterday.when i had a good look i notice the under leaves look very droopy,i was alittle concerd so i decided to trim a few of the big leaves away so the bushy areas could recive
light.tbh iam not sure whats going of maybe they wernt reciving enuff light,or maybe i over did the nutrients or maybe not enuff, tbh iam not sure ill post some pics soon as i alterd my grow room,

cheers guys any help would be great:grinjoint:

I would keep all the fan leaves, mate, as they are the plant's source of energy. You are about a month into vegetation. It sounds as if your plant might be demanding more powerful nutrients. I would suggest something like Advanced Nutrient's Iguana Juice (Grow) or Fox Farm's Grow Big. Remember to keep the feedings modest for these more powerful organic fertilizers. Good luck!

Remember, its takes 3 days or so to see effects from nutes. My Sativa dominant lower fan leaves do the same thing, saggy and deep green. However all of the new growth is fine and it keeps growing and growing. I donlt know for sure, but I would bet that its natures way of getting the large, old, less productive fans out of the way of lower leaves. I noticed the older the leaves are, the more crap that clogs them up.

If you are foliar feeding regualrly with nutes and sometimes plain good water, I think you can minimize this. I never could fix the fans on my plant, I just pushed them down and out of the way, and she keeps on growing.

cheers for the reply guys, well the other day i did take a few leaves of to get some light to the inner bushy part of the plant,it seems to be healthy and green, but i feel i could be doing something more, also i notice the new leaves coming out already have yellow tips,is this a sure indication of something wrong.

If the new leaves coming out already have yellow tips, then this could be a sign of too much fertilizer. In that case, I'd back off the nutes and use plain water for at least a week. Pics are encouraged!

ok guys here is a little update,my 2 bigbang plants have been vegin now for about 40 days now,and my 2 nevilles haze around 20 days.there under a 250watt mh unit.
This first picture is of the 2 nevilles haze, there coming on very well now and starting to grow tall,i think this is a sativa plant, not as bushy as big bang

The next 2 pics are of my smallest big bang plant, remember i burnt this plant when it just sprouted so i stunned its growth, but it looks to be really picking up now.

iam doing 18/6 for this grow and i have used very little nutes.

cheers guys :Rasta:

2 questions,my tallest plant is about a foot and over ,when would u flower this plant ?
also do u thin k i should trim the lower section of the plant now so the bushy parts can receive more light?

tbh i was just gunna leave it and let ir flower on its own,but i do want the best yeild i can get without going over board.this stick technique looks promising.i had alook at ur thread.but still in the clouds about it is there a tut on this method ? or can u explain to me ?

I say plan now for the flowering period. Decide how much trimming (if any) you want to do, if you want to supercrop to make it bushier or scrog it, or topping for height. Think about all this now so you can have at least a week after you do your thing to start flowering.

I agree as yr only using a 250 watt. It'll be best to start flowering i'd say because if u plan on growing all 4 plants in that space there is gonna be a major battle for light and only having the 250 watt means that yr light will only penetrate the canopy about a foot if even that, plus u say u have 2 withe widow strains growing as well that are infamous for stretching. i once flowered a WW clone at 10cm and it ended up growing to two foot, do u have enough space my friend .

anyway yr plants are looking good

Well there is not much to my technique, I always make sure each plant has at least one central stake by the end of veg or shortly there after. Next step is at 3 wks. (20-21 days) I will skirt them... I remove the bottom six or eight inches of leaf, buds, and maybe even a branch or two (there is a detailed comparison before and after on my last grow). I never remove leaves unless they are dead or dying, after all these are your plant's "solar panels" for photosynthesis. I always keep my lights down close to the plants but always have a fan cooling them on the tops. That is basically it, except for nutrients.... I use B'Cuzz nutrients, but I don't think it matters much as long as they are fed well. I also use CO2 @ 1500ppm.

Hey dean havnt seen u in while,as u can see my grow is taking off,and things seem to be good.

as far as hight goes iam cool i could grow a plant up to 5ft ,but like u said about light,so i think iam going to flower next friday. ill be switching to a hps bulb for this stage.

also i think iam just going to trim the bottom branches and let nature do the rest i hope all goes well and quality and yield is half decent.

1500ppm? WOW, 2000 is fatal. I thought you needed about 700.
