I was wondering if everything looks healthy, I am still finishing the build of my permanent box but as its germing its in a temporary hot spot... temps are getting to around 85+ with a fan. Scared its going to hurt it.

I have been watering a little but more often like in the SeeMoreBuds book, I am basing this as much as I can off of that.

Thanks in advance.

Here is a top view:

I have gotten the temp below 80 now it seems... Just wondering if that embryo leave curling up is a sign of being dried out...
Should I water more often then normal?
I read in that book to water often a teaspoon amount until veg...

Thanks alot for the replies guys. I know you've seen a lot of beginners come in here and beg for a little pat on the back to make themselves feel better lolol...

but it does give me a little piece of mind. My only question is this:
I have a limited space and am really doing this as a "lets see if I can actually do this"
I dont/can't let the plant get too big and was wondering....

right now I am at 24/0. I have also read that the plants seem to at minimum grow 3x the size after flowering is started. So is there a age that is too early to start flowering? or can i start it whenever I want but will just lose yield if its earlier? I am not worried about yield at all, something around the 4-7 gram range. Just trying it out on a minimal budget (total cost so far is less than 10$) for minimal results, but results none the less!!!

Any input/experiences with early flowering for a quicker harvest would be great!

(also since its a bagseed I dont want to waste alot of time before getting to sex it.Regardless if it hurts yield.)

It is actually up to 3x or more. It depends on the strain.. Let her go a bit then you can LST it and do some other things to keep it low and or small. Get the lights close to it to minimize stretch in veg. You can flower it whenever you want. Hang in there, we will get you through this, learn what you can and go from there.. :peace:

Everyone here is really supportive! I was afraid to noob post after seeing all the serious setups but really wanted input from what it looks to be the most intellegent community on the net about this!!!

And even though I feel like one of those annoying people who keeps shoving baby pictures down your throat (lmao) my little baby's second set of leaves is starting to come in strong now!! :) :)

Day 5!

Dont worry man, you're doing good. You're starting out the same way i am. I am doing flowering 12/12 from seedling. There is no age limit to start flowering, as long as you have the lights on 12/12 (day/night) from the time it pops out of the soil, it will start flowering as soon as its mature enough to.

ATM my plant has been in Veg 24/0 for 2 weeks. Friday will be the last day of Veg for me tho, im starting flower early too.

Im not worried about the yeild either like your self.:grinjoint: But i strongly advise you to atleast Veg for about 2-3 weeks. Then you can start the lights at 12/12.

Good luck, may the smoke be with you.:rollit:

Ps- i hope you're using the MG soil that has no time release nutes in them.

Sadly I am using the MG soil with time released.... We had it here and I had some bag seeds so i figured shit, ill give it a try...

I have heard the horror stories but I am hoping it wont hurt me that bad... I have been reading the flush instructions so hopefully that can help a little.

Only other question right now is... how big should my container be? I think I have about a 1/2 gallon right now. Could I stick with that for a small plant? I see some people cutting the tops off of bags of fert and that makes me feel like its too small.

Yea make sure u change the soil once you transplant them into bigger pots. A regular pot to grow in is about 5 gallons+. But for right now that pot you're using is fine.

Once it gets bigger i say about 3"-5"inches in length, you might wanna go searching for a much bigger pot, because the roots will get root bounded and they wont have no where else to go, and you dont want that.

The earlier you transplant them, the better and safer it is.....

Hope that helps...good luck. :peace:

Wow! Really? 5 gallon? I dont think that would even fit in my set up...
I am literally working with a 2x2x1 box... So is there no way to keep the pot at a max of 2 gallons? will being root bound kill the plant or just prevent further growth?

sooner or later the roots will have no where to search for water or go...roots act upon on, wherever the water goes thats where its gonna go, and wont stop. And all water does is go straight down or to the side. and thats where the roots basically will end up and get stuck at. And thats where you will create a problem and roots will get bounded.

I advise you to get a wider space and in the mean time, search for a bigger pot.

Day 6:
The second set of leaves is really starting to come in strong now. Is the curling of the leaves normal? it could be due to the setup of the lights. any input?

You don't need five gallon pots unless you plan on growing big plants. 3 gallon are fine for most cfl grows.. If you are going to keep it small you may be able to get away with 2 gal. or smaller... The bigger the pot the less space you will end up with. :peace:

Thanks alot for the input! I figure I should be okay with a 2 gallon considering I really want to start flowering at 6 inches... I am really only trying this so that I have the skill for later haha ;) I have no intentions of doing anything bigger for quite some time because of my living situation.

Project cost is still under 10$ so it would be hard for it not to be worth it monetary wise, even if its not time wise. Thanks again for the help.

You're off to a good start. You might want to go ahead and plant another seed. It will increase your chances of getting a female. ;)

:peace:

Harry

I have to repeat what harry said. save yourself some time and plant another just in case. you can make her a mother if she flower and you dont have to start all over wasting more nutes, power and your time. she looks nice so far. I know you said bagseed but sometimes you can do some comparisions and figure out what strain you have when those buds start.

Yeah I really need to get another one going... The problem is with my situation (very nosey and straight-edge roomates who would have no issue with being a snitch) I really cant have a giant set up. I have struggled to make this as stealth as possible and I think with two plants, and essentially double the setup, I wont be able to control the light leaks and smell eventually. I am running a home made carbon filter for when I start flowering. Hopefully I will get a female, and from reading on bag seeds that probably wont happen....

If I fail this time I will be happy enough I got it far enough to sex in the first place and I might start again or get some reputable seeds. If I'm lucky enough to get a female I would love to see if I could get some help in figuring out the strain since I would have no idea myself.

With the root bounding though... I am planning on transplanting at day 10 to a 2 gallon pot. I will start flowering at 12-14 days so I can keep it small and a little quicker. Do you think a 2 gallon would be too small for a plant flowered earlier? Should I flower earlier? Will being root bound kill my plant? or just prevent potential growth?

Also, I know everyone hates MG soil with time-released, but I going off of the SeeMoreBuds book and was told to use it in there. I would prefer not having to nute since I have no access really to them. (I do have some MG nutes that are lying around but they are 15/30/15 which if I am correct is way too high. Is the time-release MG really a death sentence for the plants? or just not optimal? Is there anyway to make it better? I have added the perlite lower level for drainage at least.

As of now I am just praying and calling her charlotte for luck hahahaha.

Thank everyone so much for answering all of my questions and the mental support!! I really do appreciate it! (sorry for so many ?'s this post)
