First Grow and Boy Am I Excited

Don't think your landlord can evict you if your legal, not 100% sure on that tho

Growing in the house would be alot easier to control everything prob, if you've got that carbon filter i'm sure your fine with people in close proximity...but the more people who know the less safe your crop is, hope this guy can keep your secret!! You gonna haul your plants over there if you move?

:thankyou:
I am really thinking about the garage (best of both worlds). When it happens, I am going to start fresh, and I want to do it right. I can't find any good clones (maybe on 4/20 @ the local growers competition.......*fingers crossed*), so I am going to order some seeds online. I want good genetics so hermies won't pester me (I plan on having everything else dialed in, and bagseed genetics is a variable that I don't want to mess with).:bongrip:

Thanks for the insight Wow and Woodsman.:grinjoint:
I know them both very well. It isn't a messy divorce at all. No kids, and the house is the only asset that they both have ownership of (both have own insurance, cars, and other stuff). My friend is getting a lawyer though because she admitted she is already dating. Neither one has negative intentions towards the other though. Apparently she just didn't like where her life was going (work, sleep, work, sleep, etc) and also has some personal issues she needs to address (as most people should, but it seems few do). She is a very passive person, and hates conflict. I feel bad for my bud, as he wants to work this out, but the way she was raised (nature/nurture anyone?) it is easier for her to run away and start fresh. She is staying at her folks house until she finds a place.

As far as the landlord thing goes I can only comment on canadian law but up here we are required to get a letter of permission from our landlords to grow our medicine indoors and we dont own the building. But dont know what the State laws are like for this issue but I would think if they request to know where you plan on producing your medicine they may also require confirmation from the owner that you have their permission to do so. I know they condem houses for a period of time when they find a grow op in them that is illegal and then they make the owner pay to have all the pollen and residue that is left behind cleaned up before it can be inhabited but the funny thing is though if it is a legal medicinal grow then there are no requirements like this for clean up if you stop growing at any location.

You may be saving a couple hundred, but I'll tell you from experience that living with your girlfriend in the same house as one of your friends will cause issues......no matter how cool your friend and girlfriend are. It;s just human nature. Also how do you divide an electric bill when your growing bud at his house?:peace: Great journal and updates +Reps

Simondetroit,:welcome: & thanks for the input. I feel pretty good about the situation. My friend happens to be my girlfriends best friends older brother. As far as the power bill goes, he doesn't mind splitting it (3 ways is cheaper, and less problematic than determining who owes what percent).

I did some shopping yesterday.:reading420magazine: I ordered a fogger and bought a rubbermaid. I plan on following Jonnybtreed's instructions on constructing the fog cloner. Does anyone use this setup? I was thinking about using an intermittent timer for the fogger so it didn't run 24/7.:bongrip:

I've got some pistils showing on my 2 ladies, but I sent my digital camera with my girlfriend to Eastern Washington. So no pictures for a couple days. I also am seeing if using my T5 as supplemental side lighting will help growth. My thinking is that the different spectrum (grow bulbs) should help with growth overall. I am also hanging it vertically so it is shinning sideways. I had to train myself to be patient and not yank plants at the first sight of *possible* male flowers. But I think I got that out of my system. Patience is a virtue. :grinjoint:

Dual spectrum, way ta go Big! Sounds like you got yourself a good plan and it's all under control.. Good job!:bravo:

Androphobia, Pre-flowers, and H2o2 Oh my!

Thanks Woodsman! I really enjoy posting on this site because of all the positive vibrations and great feedback. I have registered at several of the other sites but I don't think I will be going back to posting on them (I will still probably browse for ideas/knowledge though, steal it, and post it here if it's useful).:reading420magazine:

After smoking a nice bowl of my friends bud topped w/ some bubble:bong:, I sat down to converse with my ladies and to examine them. I suffer from a case of androphobia (look it up and you most likely do to some extent when it came to growing), and I am always checking for male flowers. So I was peaking/prodding around in there and I see some weird growth. Don't know if it's early formation of buds, or maybe inter-sex/hermaphrodite flower? This is my first time growing, so all I have to go by is what I've seen pictures of through internet/books. If anyone could link me to a definitive source on pre-flowering and early flowering that would be great.:thankyou:

I don't have my camera until tonight, so I will try to take pics and get them posted as soon as I can.

By the way, has/does anyone used H2o2 in their reservoir? I was reading a thread by ledtester and it sounds pretty beneficial in keeping a sterile environment, and providing *help* for the plants systems.:grinjoint:

I'm terified of male ball sacks also! LOL How many weeks is the plant vegging for now. 2 or 3 weeks. Remind me, are you doing a 12/12? It's pretty early to detect I would think.. If it looks like a tiny green speck stuck in the crevice between a fan leafs stem and where it meets the main stem, that's a male. right in that crevice. Eventually it gets a little more swollen and then you can see the ball. A female is tricky in the sense that I've seen them emerge as a tiny hair and I've seen them emerge first without. Try this link:Cannabis, male or female - Google Search Females will show later than males

I took some photos, but I am to medicated to post them tonight. I did find an informative website. All sorts of good info and links too!:peace:

Last night I bought some H2o2 (checked for impurities; none) (I only bought 3% this time, mainly for test run, and to have around the house). I added 1 Cup to my 3 Gallons of nute solution (recommended 1/2 cup per gallon, but I played it safe). I'm hoping this morning my plants will look just as nice as when I left them.

As we speak, I am uploading pictures on my computer. Sorry for the delay in updates. It's been a busy week.

I put one together, and it worked fine. You might be able to get away with 15min on / off cycles, but I ran it continously. I'd follow Jonny's instructions exactly... good advice with the cloning details.

I did use a larger tank, and just filled it with more water. Make sure you get the float for the fogger - it's worthless under more than a few inches of water.

Thanks OBX. I did get the fogger and the float. $29.95 (includes shipping and handling!). I too have a bigger rubbermaid, so more water is in store for me as well. One thing though. The fogger I ordered has a red LED light when operating. Is this going to be bad for the clones root zone? I know light is generally not wanted when dealing with roots.

I think I am going to build my cloner tomorrow. Thanks JonnyBTreed!

It's not enough light to worry about I think... the main reason to keep light away from roots would be algae growth, and I don't think it's bright enough for that.

Good luck with the cloner! My clones took about two weeks in there...

Nice, thanks again OBX. It really sucks that marijuana is still recognized as a drug/illegal. In my short time on this website I have had the opportunity to experience so many positive and helping people! :thankyou: I just wish I could invite all these people to share a bowl of good buds! I would love to meet some of these folks, but security is just to important (for all of us), that we are afraid to let new people in on our secret identities. I hope one day it will be legalized and de-stigmatized. When it is, you are all invited to a BYOB BBQ (BYOB=Bring Your Own Bud since I most likely won't have enough buds for all of us)!:ganjamon:

I finally got around to uploading and posting my pics. So here is a little update for ya'll.

I'm watching you......(really Viggo Mortenson is watching you, I just took a picture of his face at an angle)

Okay, now that I have that out of the way, on to the grow related stuff.

Some of the first female parts I found (no privacy for these ladies!).

These tripped me out! I thought they were males or intersex flowers.

Here are the 2 ladies just hanging out.

After H2o2 (and 12 hours).

I noticed the plant looked all around more healthy this morning after giving 1 cup of 3% H2o2 for 3 gallons of nutes. Leaves were standing more erect, and they even felt more healthy to the touch. I plan on using up my 3% and getting some 35%.

Here's a side by side of leaves from both plants. One shows more sativa-ish leaf characteristics (or am I just tripping?).

It was pretty cool seeing the pistils develop. I flipped the lights about 2 weeks ago to 12/12. Nothing really happened until right around the 2 week mark, where one day I came in to check on my ladies, and overnight little white pistils had popped up everywhere.
I have been debating on adding some flowering nutes to my feeding (right now I just use AN's Micro/Grow/Bloom at a 1:blushsmile:1 for veg and went to 1:winkyface:3 over the last 2 weeks). Does anyone have any suggestions as to what to use? I've heard Big Bud is pretty good, and I think Bud Igniter (might be to late for this one...) is supposed to help stack budding sites? Any advice/opinions would be appreciated.

I'd keep it simple this first grow. 1-2-3 will give you everything you need for a good grow and the extras are more about production. I've heard good things about the Big Bud also and would add that if you feel the need to push it but I'm new to the AN 2 part and I'm going to use just that on this grow so I have a base line to judge any additives later.

I'm using the Big Bud this time along with the AN Sensi Flower A&B and Liquid Carbo Load. I think you'd really want to try adding some sugar, that's the liquid carbo load.

I'm subscribed now.
