Feral's Journal Of Insanity & Some Growing

Yeah mate..glad a lot of those posts of hempys were quoted..

I knew id forget something in my journal entry, I changed out the reservoir to SSH last night, i added 1/4 scoop of Great White Mycorrhizae along with the usual mix but did not include DM Zone :thumb: I also added 1/4 scoops to White Jack and Incredible Bulk's reservoirs without doing a swap, these 2 still have DM Zone. Seedlings that have not broken ground, they were lightly dusted :thumb:

My guess would be he asked for them to be removed, as the shit goes down in there.. couple others asked for theirs to be removed also..

I was thinking the leaves would be a little more pointy on the ssh.. 24k is an awesome colour mate..

Im surprised at how small it is compared to everything else i have grown, very dainty little plant, the leaves i was expecting thin sativa style for some reason, then i think about the genetics Skunk(25%) x NL(25%) x Haze(50%), which is about a 50/50 indica/sativa mix :thumb: the leaves will sharpen with maturity, still very early days, last night was its first real feed so should see a boom in growth over the next week or so :) 24k opened up massively with the topping and defol, i only took 8 tips and 8 fans :) Indica leaves block so much light, canopy should stay pretty even from here, she is definitely going to be a special one in flower :thumb:

Very nice Feral. You have everything looking wonderful.
I am curious to see the Sour D flower after what she went through.

Cheers

Thanks mate :) i cant wait, going to take up a lot of my time but hopefully will be worth it, my plant yoyo's arrived today so should be covered if i have anymore issues, i dont think im going to need them till a bit later in flower as the stems have thickened right up but good insurance policy

Im thinking she will never break at those points again :) i have tied her up that good the tent is supporting the damaged area, providing a more solid base for her newer growth, problem is however, i tied them branches right at the start of flower, they are tied to the last topping points which means any newer growth, including stretch after the plant was topped for the last time is supporting itself, this is where i expect it to break if anywhere :thumb:

Another thing i forgot to mention, more seeds arrived today  going to germinate a couple tonight, a Strawberry Cough from a pack i have had in my collection for a while now and one from a new pack, here is a hint

:)

Hopefully i will end up with a male from one and a fem from the other, this is my first planned hybrid :thumb: if it turns out the way im hoping i will then do a pheno hunt with both packs and find my king and queen, consummate the marriage before finding the perfect princess to start the cubing process :)

:passitleft:

Some updates for tonight, im absolutely speechless...

Sour D is probably going to go down as one of the biggest plants i have ever grown indoors  lets get the size out of the way, on Sunday night she was 28" tall, its now wednesday and she is 38" tall, remembering this is only Day 14 of flower

C99 is well above my expectations too, she is only 20" tall but damn she is sexy, Day 18 of flower for her :thumb:

Dont think i really need to do any veg updates tonight, got a few reservoirs to change after this so will keep me pretty busy for a while, thats one aspect of this system i need to work on, its very easy to drain one of these through the "level indicator" tube while its on a stand but as soon as you move it to the floor you dont have the area beneath to use a bucket to catch the nutes. Right now what i am doing to get around this is to use a bucket i already setup as a dwc, a 19mm straight joiner, a small pump and another normal bucket, i join the two "level" tubes with the joiner and sit the bucket next to the DWC, i then make sure the tubes are flat on the ground. The bucket will fill about half-way till both levels are the same then i use the pump in the bucket to pump into the other bucket for disposal  because my res holds 20L and my buckets are 20L it means a few trips back and forth, it even affects how i fill the reservoir, i put 6L of plain water in the res first then mix up my nutes in 14L water, set the ph to about 5.6-5.7 and pump it back into the res through the "level" tube, thus having to mix with the water before touching the roots which means its a gradual increase in strength rather than shocking the roots with a concentrated mix, by the time its all mixed in the ph settles around 5.9 :) i have ordered a cheap small usb pump which i think may make the process a lot quicker, it doesnt need to be submersed so can run a feeder tube through the "level" tube to pump it out. USB you ask? well anything usb powered can be run from an android phone using an OTG cable, portable and convenient :thumb:

Anyways enough babbling i could have had a res done by now  couple more quick pics from the pollen tent, sour d has got some balls showing his face around here like that :)

Hey feral how are you doing?? Your rooms look amazing as always. I have a couple questions for ya . In your picture I saw string come from top of tent to each branch is that to spread her out and let light thru? Also in my own setup I recently started flowering some clones they haven't stretch much at all. It's day 6 from flip the mother's gained 20"" In 2 weeks of transition period. So I am wondering if my temps are to low at lights off will that hinder stretch. And if yes, can I reveg these since only 6 days from flip or ride it out. This is a picture I took last night and mind you it's a clone so she already had some growth when I flipped.

now she did get a little bit of upward growth but not like there mother's did. I put a hydrometer in there last night to check my temps and humidity out. But just wondering if you could share so wisdom, that I know you have because your rooms look amazing every time I check in on them. Thanks and gorgeous ladies you have. C99 is a strain I am very interested in trying. But next run is all Barney's farm, then is delicious seeds, and then dinafem I want to compare breeders quality. So far Barney's is my favorite. And I like delicious also. Dr kripple is good also but I only like incredible bulk from them

Thanks mate :) The strings are there for one reason, she collapsed around Day 5 of flower and was the only way to hold her together  she has quite a few snapped stalks, half of the plant got removed.

the above happened only 9 days ago :thumb:

On the topic of stretch, cooler temps will slow things down somewhat but mostly will be down to how much the plant thrives before hitting the flower tent, you want them to be in peak condition or you will notice they wont do much at all for the first week. Lights are also a big thing, LED's are known to keep plants shorter, imo the best way to induce more stretch is by moving the lights away further or giving them a bit longer dark period :thumb:

If you go for any c99 i would highly recommend going with the original from Brothers Grimm :thumb: Barneys have a great range, got about 8 of their strains here to get to at some point, always been a breeder i have shown interest in, also the breeder of my Red Diesel ;) Delicious has been on my radar for a while now, i have a few of their strains in regular form :) I have had a good look through Dr Krippling and tbh there aint much in there that takes my fancy, he just likes giving them weird names, Incredible Bulk is about the only one id grow. Most of my grows this year will end up being MNS beans or Brothers Grimm :)

Won a couple more MNS auctions this morning too, way cheaper than i expected :) i dont think i will ever buy MNS any other way again :thumb: 21 euro for an 18 pack of G13 Widow that usually sells for 80 euro, 10 euro for an 18 pack of Dreamtime which is usually 35 euro :) so by the time i pay its going to cost me 76 euro for 5 strains, cheaper than i could have bought 1 pack of the g13 widow :)

Thank you, tonight was my first day back from a I'll say business trip. I live in Seattle but have family in Pennsylvania. So I decided to bring some smoke back to PA for my family. In South Dakota a cop pulled me over I showed him all my legal paperwork but wanted to search my car. I refused he got the K9 unit there and they did a walk around. The dog hit on my trunk so he arrested me. But the best part is THE COP GOT ARRESTED FOR STEALING MONEY FROM DRUG ARRESTS. HE stole 100,000.00 that he admits to. So now he got fired nobody to testify on my case so I am getting basically every charge thrown out. So I left Sunday just got home tonight. First thing I did was check on my ladies and they are dialed in temp and humidity wise. I am running 72 degrees lights on and 42 rh. And lights off I am running a little heater on a timer on 45 mins off 45 so they don't get to much rh increase and don't want to keep lights off temps to high. Personally I like when there is a 15 degree swing. I notice more resin and more quality smoke. I will sacrifice quantity for quality. So I am keeping them right where they are. I am getting a third tent BC I am outta room and I have a bunch of beans I want to drop critical Kush, vanilla Kush, lemon super haze, and gold leaf. Gold leaf is definitely something I have wanted to grow for a long time. So I am excited to get her going. I am gonna clone her so much and run her in soil , DWC, rdwc just to try to get a idea for what's the best method for training and growth and quality of smoke. I am gonna try a different nute line advanced nutrients. I am hoping to see if it makes a difference. But if not oh well I know it will still be good. Thanks for your help. As always ladies are gorgeous and happy growing

Cop probably saw your paperwork and the dollar signs lit up in his eyes, thought he could take you for a ride, hope that 100k wasnt yours, if so i hope you got it back :thumb:

Temp and RH sounds like its ok, I also like it when there is a temp drop overnight, not that it happens here much in summer lol, running my lights at night means im not running them during the hottest part of the day but temps will generally stay whatever it is outside, i really need to invest in air con  Quality is always my choice over quantity, as you can see i dont mind cutting half of a plant away if it means im going to produce a higher quality flower, my goal for each plant is 2oz, anything else is a bonus :thumb: Got 13oz from Red Diesel and is my highest quality smoke so far :)

Advanced Nutrients work well but first word of advice, run it at half strength :thumb: mixed up to their specs your EC will be around 3.4, I used the Connoisseur nutrients along with a few of their additives, shit is expensive! funny thing is i am getting even better results from GH now, using less and costing a shitload less than AN, oh and make sure you check PH, their PH Perfect is bullshit ;)

I was close to getting another packet of nevils skunk, was $15,50 when I last saw, not sure what ended up going for.. that seems to be the easiest quickest and cheapest way of finding a good nevils haze..

Defo interested in some nevs haze but i think i might wait a couple of months for them, i think they will probably end up being grown outdoors next season due to their size ;)

I didnt even up my bids this time, put them on the other day and thought i was going to be outbid for sure at least with the widow, figured i only needed 1 more strain to get the amount up so i can pay for it all and was quite confident id win the dreamtime. I have not seen the g13 widow go for under 40 euro in all the bids so far, i got it for almost half that  Not sure if i will bid on any next time round, will give some others a chance, going to sort out payment on these ones and wait for their arrival first :)

I'm waiting a while to pay, won't be home for over a month, except weekends.. i want to double up on a couple I've already won and hanging out for la nina to come up in the auctions..
