Yeah I wonder how much heat it will produce with such a small res, might be a winter job :rofl: I'm feeding my plants maybe every 3-5 days depending on how heavy they are or how they are looking, my current strength of nutes I'm feeding them is around 0.7 EC, hole is drilled about 2-3" from the base for drainage and I feed till runoff. I find it easy to lift them out of the tent, sit them in an old res/tote and feed them, let them drain and then move them back into the tent ;) Courser perlite is the shit, got another bag of it today :thumb:

Well shit :rofl: :rofl: yeah I should use google a bit more :rofl: very good point though, might as well just run dwc's, my idea of running the hempys is to eliminate the air pump and some of its noise, why would I want to add air stones to it, would be noisier than a dwc :rofl:
 
Their is a bit a of a wall once the roots max out the pot size tho. Thats what id say the biggest restriction is from my observations. Until that point id say growth is on par with DWC. So youd need bigger pots to get the same yelid or grow double the plants half the size.
 
God forbid i start believing google or even more than 1 out of a thousand journal posts. Only reality is the one youve tried and tested. So many ways to skin a cat, but until youve tried them is just hear-say.
 
Yeah hempys are good passive hydro. No noise, no checking nothing except what you put in. Looking forward to seeing the coir hempy v coir dtw I have going. That coir I got is the good one. No added nothing in it.. plants seem to be loving it.. Ortega are about to go off, growing a little quicker than I wanted. I might have two tents flowering, especially if mangos and ssh are long flowering..
 
its called research Aussie or you can repeat and fail without it. Of course.. your life to step few steps behind if you choose. But I guess it's what criteria you think is a positive, compared to other options that can do same things..
 
Yeah personally i doubt ill ever fhange from my hemoys now. Rine tune them yes. But change not. So easy. Like you said Grizz, as long as what you feed them is on par and you got a little runoff no need to check anything. I ro t know, im just totally sold on them.

Should be interesting, did you do straight coir or 50/50 perlite/coir? I'm running 2nd hand coco this round in my pollen tent :rofl: the exact same shit that just came out of the pollen tent, at least I know there is nothing in there and I can start fresh :rofl: I'm pulling my SSH tonight early, same as the M1 and M2, almost fully seeded from gorilla bomb :rofl: count it as a loss and move on, I have clones ;)

Fucking shit bomb, chuck that shit out mate. it's good your got shit going on, can cover it but man, that could fuck somebodies whole grow up.. I only say that cause my bomb experience. Unless it's natural timing and late, it can hurt a grow..
coir Hempys are 60-40 perlite/coir. I fill Rez with 100% perlite and middle core 2" of perlite.. roots will hit this, grow through and then try and do the same into Rez. Without it, in coir, some plants will hit top of perlite rez and not penetrate into it..

Yeah man they have shown me what I needed to see from them anyways ;) they were really only in the flower tent to see how they flowered and if they will be used in any crosses, the M2 is a weird one, like a thai stick so I'm going to hit her with the thai Buddha and see what happens :) will grab a pic of the burnt up seeded ones before I chop them out, never got over the coco burns so they look like shit lol :thumb: Going to be interesting to watch how your coir hempy goes, sounds interesting as shit hehe, I was wondering about how the coco would go in a res but makes sense to be filled with perlite :thumb: If all goes sweet I may have to try it myself hehe
 
I say googles good because you read stuff from hempy about hempys, you know? I'm into this shit.. i can read fucking heaps about it, same shit, over and over again, it interests me.. but there's lots of it, lots, over ten year of easily accessible information,. Helps if you know who's to read or sites to read from. But nothing's new in this on the majority, just same hashed out ideas playing over and over because the only thing new when not researched is somebodies interest..

I didn't need to search google, I found all the info I needed from the man himself on MNS forums ;) I know what you mean though man, I'm always reading stories and information about strains and stuff everywhere, I cant get enough of it :thumb:

Thai is a male? If I had my licence I'd still be in all perlite Hempys but it might be a blessing in disguise, seeing how they have taken to it so far.. I added some microbe fert, de, garden lime, gypsum and rock dust to the mix and water with instant humus.. I don't know if it'll help or hinder during flower but good during veg :rofl:
 
I know :rofl: shit was there, why not.. probably doing nothing or leading to lockouts but live and learn.. I think I would have killed all the microbes with the first dose of chem nutes :rofl:
 
Oh the fert and humus initial watering was only in the dtw mix.. hempys got the rest of it though..
