Feral's Journal Of Insanity & Some Growing

Well shoot man that sucks about the bud rot but it happens, especially if you grow em big and fat!
Have you guys in high humidity areas thought about a small light dep greenhouse for outdoor you can harvest mid summer and avoid the cold wet weather by vegging them indoor till they get 3 4 foot tall throw them in the green house veg them some more cover them in the evening and uncover them after 12 hours of darkness. I would personally just build a hoop green house and use panda plastic for the light dep but I don't mind a little extra work.
Some growers a around here have three harvest a summer they veg indoor for for a spring harvest putting them outdoor when the light is approaching 10 hours a day then the mid summer light dep and a fall harvest so if the fall harvest is a fail they already had two good harvests.

.........

Thanks Red :thumb: yeah I have thought about a green house and will be buying one after I get my indoor area setup ;) I'm not overly worried about multiple outdoor harvests, just one without issues would be nice  Most of my work will be indoors anyways apart from a few of the sativas I'm planning on running next season :thumb:

Sorry to hear about the bud rot man. I'm terrified of that. You seem to be handling it well though. LOL! You going to clean out the tent?

Awesome new genetics as well. Even though I've never grown bodhi gear, I really want to. Now that I have the space for regs, I'm going to get my hands on some of his gear when I buy again. I've always heard good things about bodhi. Is it true no one knows who he actually is?

All good mate, I turned my fans right up last night to create more airflow in the tent to try lower the RH, got it down 20% in about an hour which should help, will harvest tonight and salvage what I can from her, tbh with the major issues I had earlier on with temps/stretch/split stalks/burnt tops etc I'm surprised she has lasted this long, will end up with more yield than I expected when all that was happening :thumb: I can wash half of the tent down but the other plants are too big to move around, looks like I caught it right at its earliest stage so hasn't actually become airborne yet, just white fuzz on some buds due to RH for the 2 days I wasn't in there, usually don't even see it in this stage because it only takes a couple of days from this point to turn brown and moldy, I really only noticed it right as I was uploading pics for my updates, without them I wouldn't have even gone back in to check so I'm kinda lucky in a way ;)
Ive never run Bodhi but from what I read almost everything is a keeper, never heard any complaints from anyone who has run them and has access to some of the best genetics :thumb:
I don't think Bodhi is that elusive, I'm sure plenty of people know who he is, its just that his main focus is caring for his family and is a single operator, he doesn't bother trying to promote his business at expo's and doesn't bother with the whole cannabis cup stuff, just does it for the love of the plant and helping others. I have also read the reason why his cbd strains are so hard to get is because he gives most of them away to sick people who need them :)

here is a snippet from the man himself on another site ;)

i do collect lines from all over the world and do my best to refresh those lines, I'm just one human so its hard to make beans, be online, and care for my family..

all my cbd rich genetics are free, and i encourage f2ing of them...

all you need to make a positive effect in the cannabis community is a few seeds, a light source, water, and plant food...

from there anything is possible...

be the change you want to see in the world....

Bodhi sounds like a top class guy. All the more reason to support him. Also want to try some of Mosca's gear... oh, and TGA subcool...and brothers grimm. :cheesygrinsmiley:

What's the thought behind bud washing mate? I've no idea what that's for

budwashing with a bath of lemon and peroxide removes any bugs/mold/dust/crap that may have become stuck to your plant during flower...it is sticky isnt it?? Ive given up on removing the cat hairs, but all that other crap, Im glad to see gone

Top dawg and bodhi have had me wanting their beans for the last year or more..

You won't wash resin off.. rain won't take it off the plants  mainly wash if been foliar feeding, outdoor plants or and pest or other issues; pm etc... I'm not sure if most are like me (probably not) but I was impressed first time I washed (outdoors stuff) less impressed second time (lost part of a cola by not breaking it up smaller after wash) to now only doing it if I have too...

In recently got 6 secret jardin monkey fans, they were on sale, I already have 3 fans so I have a lot on air movement plus I use carbon filter/inline fan into cooling light so a lot of negative pressure so my tents are like vacuumed in, I try to get as much air exchange as possible til I can get a co2 dispenser and regulator and that's in 3 weeks

Hey there Feral,

great to see you still around the place! I have been lost and quiet on the boards lately but have found the motivation to get back into posting and sharing.

Looks like you are going great guns growing and having a blast. Sucks to hear about a bit of mold but we all get that at one time or another.

keep up the good work!

So many good ones to choose from and so many to stay away from  notice a theme with all them breeders? not one does fem beans  just shows that the most highly respected breeders don't mess with that crap :thumb:

Thanks for that mate :) I couldn't believe the crap left over after I was done for the night, I used 3 buckets, 1st with water and peroxide for the mold, 2nd with lemon and bicarb, the third had plain water as a rinse :thumb: id skip the peroxide all together if I wasn't dealing with mold ;)

It also aids in drying and curing.

Buds seemed so much more vibrant green after the wash too :)

I'd b scared I'd wash all the good resin off too!

I was a bit against it to begin with too but its only the cold that will damage the trichs, as long as the buckets are room temp or a bit warmer it shouldn't do any damage :thumb:

gentle is the word...in my experience, all the good stuff stays put

I was pretty rough with mine and still couldn't cause any damage but snapping a few stems as they wouldn't fit in the bucket

Top dawg and bodhi have had me wanting their beans for the last year or more..

Same here mate, I was almost going to buy a pack of topdawg the other day till I realised seedsherenow is US and Canada only, was spewing because they also have a few more Dark Horse strains I cant get elsewhere

If I grew smaller plants id probably attempt to do it on most grows, too time consuming to do it on all my girls but defo looks like its working with this mold :high-five:

Mine are sealed up in a tent all nice & clean & i ain't foliar fed since they were in veg :)

Same here, I use no foliars and tent is pretty clean but there is always dust getting dragged in unless you are running a carbon filter on your inlet, its amazing how much dust sticks to the flowers during just the flower period alone ;)

Nice one mate, my tent has a nice vac effect too :thumb: I got sick of buying the clip on fans that break after about a month so I bought a 16" desk fan which sits on the floor and moves air around the base of my plants, cant put anything above the canopy because the plants are too big
