FelipeBlu's Auto Jack & Kryptonite, PSMini LED, Root Pouch, Recipe 420

You will do much better, I’m sure. Some of my early spreading of the stems got messed up during the stretch, when both plants were fighting for spatial domination. If I had just one plant, or at least more space, I would follow Shed’s reco to continue to tug, pull, tie down, and totally subject the plant to your will. Keep the chosen colas spread out, and prevent any one cola from achieving apical dominance.
Indeed! The trouble you faced was not having the room to spread it out. By itself you def would have been able to keep it to at least half its height.

Just some bud porn today. Still lots of clear trichs, and maybe, if the final resolution of the photos is good enough, you might see some violet trichs if you zoom in.

Edit: No, resolution not good enough. Will work on providing better macro shots.
Nice bud porn.✌️

No, really. I can see them in the photo before it gets uploaded to 420. There are clear trichs, and right next to them, on a purple calyx, there are a few violet trichs. Might be an effect from the light, but I don’t think so.

That ain't happening until the fat colas are ready to make me sing! :rollit:

And that light shows colors as they really are!

They are looking pretty tasty... The mini shows a better colour than the HPS does but my floor looks like a disco - as do your plants so def not the same as looking at your plant under white light. If you take photos turn the mini off and use flash... way better true colours :)

Got off early today, so it was a good time to take the ladies out for a little primping and photo shoot.

First up, the Auto Kryptonite (Day 73/Flower week 8)

And the Auto Jack Herer (Day 68/Flower week 7)

And back together again in the tent.

Thanks for stopping by! :thanks::high-five:

And after rotating this photo, here’s a shot of Jackie’s stem work. Had to make some strategic decisions today about a few wimpy shoots with sparse buds. I want the plant to concentrate energy on the larger colas. And it makes it nice and neat under here.

Note the fat second node stem that took off after I topped between the 6th & 7th nodes.

Actually, here’s a bit more info on several aspects of my growing technique.

Watering: I weigh the pot after filling it, but before I add water. It isn’t bone dry. The pumice usually still has moisture in it from washing, and the bagged soil is usually damp. I then weigh it after I saturate the soil to runoff. Then I don’t water again until the weight is back down nearly to dry. I believe this encourages the plant to follow the moisture as it recedes due to evaporation through the fabric pot. This approach appeared to work on my first grow.

When I water, I slowly drop/trickle it into the soil outside the “drip line”. This keeps the area around the stem from becoming too moist. I think it also encourages the roots to grow out laterally.

On the last grow, I used vinegar to adjust the pH, but it isn’t stable. This time, I’m going to try citric acid. I understand that it also neutralizes chloramines.
Im using a variation of a trick i learned from a guy who does autoflowers mostly (his involvd rockwool cubes etc.). Mine are also in smart pots so once ive transplanted to those big pots I just keep watering one little circle around the perimeter of the plant for quite a while. so youre basically air-pruning your roots before the roots have even reached the sides of the air-pruning smart pot, Because the soil is drying from all sides. So youre getting a fat root ball early on.

Thanks for all the nice comments guys! :high-five: And welcome Bilbo! Now my grow is complete - I have a hobbit! :ganjamon:

I got Tom P’s thoughts on waiting in my head these days. K looks pretty much the same. :yummy: Just watching the trichs slooowwllyy turn milky. The top buds are almost there. She might be ready for me to take some ripe ones off this weekend. :yahoo:

And Jackie is working on stacking and swelling.

Thanks again for stopping by! :thanks:
