What's the "BE" again?

¡Hola syenite!

BE is Greenleaf Nutrient’s Bud Explosion. It’s basically a PK boost - 33%P, 37%K, with 1%Mg and 4%S. I’m working it into my bloom mix.

it's unclear to me how much of the silica in DE is available to the plant.

Me too.

What is BE combo? Does this mean there are more things I'll need to buy to use with the ProMix in my current grow?

Hi HG :ciao:
Is my answer above about BE satisfactory?
No idea about ProMix yet - you should probably check with others with more experience.

I wish someone would start an acronym thread for all the acronyms that are used in the world of cannabis. It's very confusing for a newbie grower.

So, I don't understand your explanation to syenite as you are still using acronyms in your reply. What is PK, K, Mg and S?

Hey HG! I'll test my own knowledge here :Namaste:

"PK" is short for phosphorous and potassium. "P" is the symbol for phosphorous and "K" is the symbol for potassium in the periodic table of elements. "Mg" is for magnesium, while "S" is for sulfur.

The product in general is a supplement for plants, specifically in the flowering stage.

My understanding is that these "boosters" are not considered as strictly necessary or critical, but certainly do help with yields.

Thank you, syenite.

This was very helpful.

:thanks:

I do appreciate you stepping in with that excellent explanation, syenite! :high-five:

I sometimes forget that there are those here that have little to no experience with scientific shorthand that I have used for years. And sometimes I just abbreviate things..

Plants are looking terrific and nice work on the water-rooted monstercrop clone! Remind me so I don't have to dig it up...are these Berry Bombs all from Age's clones or did you get your hands on some seeds?
Does this mean there are more things I'll need to buy to use with the ProMix in my current grow?
Growing in ProMix HP has no bearing on the type or number of nutrients you use, so the way that Felipe supplements his version 1 of MegaCrop would only be of interest to folks also running version 1 (they're selling version 3 now).
At the moment it's unclear to me how much of the silica in DE is available to the plant.
Me three. Didn't seem to make a difference to my plants when I added it to my nute water.

Heya Shed - thanks for stopping by and sharing your kindness.
:Namaste:

I found 7 seeds in a single bud from a sample of his Agemon clone that brother BT shared with me. And even though I have 5 more, I think I’ll probably have enough Berry Bomb to hold me for a spell.

While I don’t expect 4 lbs from BeBo1, I think at least 2 from her and another pound from BeBo2 wouldn’t be out of the question. I think I will try to find someone that might be interested in getting BeBo seeds for some sativas.

I still have 8 SLH seeds after dropping three this morning in the communion chalise cup. We know that they create a very tasty bud. They are fem'd so perhaps we could trade a few.

Muchas gracias, dynamo! :high-five:

I am a little concerned about the rate that the BeBos are pulling from their fan leaves - still lots of falling yellow leaves. It appears that I am going to have to increase the nutrient dose again.

My spreadsheet shows that raising the MegaCrop from 6g to 7g/gal, and a corresponding decrease in the Bud Explosion from 0.75 to 0.5g/gal, will only increase the total ppms by about 15%, and provides 187N-72P-283K.

BTW, it seems that I must have misread my TDS pen the first time - the current dose is not 2.2 EC, but rather a bit lower - at about 1.9 EC. This increase will bring it over 2.

Hola Felipe! Is there a "limit" or guideline to how much one can raise the EC/PPM in the feed? Or does it not matter so long as the plant doesn't show signs of excess/toxicity?

I used to think that plants didn’t really need more than about 150 ppm of Nitrogen. But since I’ve been using MegaCrop, which bases their nutrition around watching for N def or tox, I’ve learned how to read the plants better.

So, as I see that the BeBos are still draining and discarding leaves at an alarming rate, I am not concerned about any maximum limits - my ladies are hungry and will be fed.

Your garden continues to look great - definitely getting their flower on now. :high-five:

Ya think? :laughtwo:

The last couple days I've been noticing the same thing on my Killer Haze. Nothing drastic, but definitely an uptick on older shaded leaves fading off. Been considering giving it a dose or two of growth nutrients to get a bit more N into the mix. I had switched to bloom nutes 3 weeks ago. Breeder says it's a heavy feeder.

Yeah, I think I got behind the curve during stretch. I stayed at 5.75g/gal too long, and should have noticed the increasing need for N before it got this acute. I expect a certain amount of attrition, but I don’t really want to lose the photosynthetic potential of all of the large fans, with a good 6 to 8 weeks to go.

At least with hempy, I should see the effects of the dose increase pretty quickly.

:ciao: Just swinging by to say Hi. I haven't seen you around for a bit - I hope all is well with you and family.
