I've heard this theory but dunno of its accuracy. Now this theory makes more sense to me check out Back building techniqueSince flipping to 12/12 and chopping the bottom 1/3, I havent done a serious defoliation. I like to wait until week 4-5 before I start removing leaves that are completely suffocating good bud sites. This gives the plants a chance to show me where they want to be defoliated. I dont know if its just me... But I have found with all the strains Ive grown that large fan leaves that cover GOOD bud sites start to look sickly or have problems, and it has always been a good yard stick to me for what leaves from the top canopy to remove. I dont go nuts though, and I dont TOUCH sugar leaves, only large fan leaves that cast huge shadows. I have no way of testing this next part, but Ive been told that defoliation done correctly will increase potency due to simulating being eaten by an animal, thus producing more THC in order to defend itself by making the next animal that eats it so stoned it will never touch that plant ever again.
Any thoughts on this?
I LOVE it when people hit me with new techniques <3 thank you for giving me something to to test! I would much rather snip the tips of my buds opposed to piercing the stem late flower which was what I was going to try on my "fucked with it" plant this time around.I've heard this theory but dunno of its accuracy. Youre also correct about multiple waterings during flower for plants in coco. It replenishes the oxygen in the coco giving those hydro results. When using coco I tried watering at least twice a day in flower.I LOVE it when people hit me with new techniques <3 thank you for giving me something to to test! Yer i had to do that with my soil. I got girls in a shed with not great ventilation. Taking ages to dry out so ive poked holes all the way down with my ph probe. Also put the fan blowing across the top of the pots under the canopy so should helpYoure also correct about multiple waterings during flower for plants in coco. I've also seen a few members here take a pen and poke holes in the coco to increase drainage when the soil is too compacted.
A combination of topping, LST and super cropping branches . Super cropping or knuckling branches was what I learnt from last crop, I do it 2 weeks before flower so they have plenty of time to bounce back. Bend and twist branches so they grow back twice as strong and can hold heavier buds without sagging.Yo featherleaf you've been a busy bee! So out of all the "fucked with it" plants what's the better technique overall for your setup at the moment?
happy growing buddy.
