Farside05's Multiple Strain Auto Grow in Coco: Trainwreck, Blueberry, Cream Caramel, Purple Kush

@SamSmith Last one if these Trainwrecks I had came out smelling and tasting like lemony tea or an Arnold Palmer when cured. It wasn't nearly as frosty as this one though.

Good god brother those are some amazing looking girls u got there congrats. Tht pk is jus beautiful and a very nice purple color to her that just makes the frost pop. Do I hear a whisper of nug of the month coming up shortly lol. I love when a plant goes purple like urs where its jus the buds turn but the leaves stay green. I think it makes the buds look even better lol. I know when taking pictures it really makes the plant/buds pop when they look like that haha. But yea brother lookn great congrats man.

Did some maintenance in the tent this morning. I had the ductwork from the filter/fan vented to outside but that was getting the tent too cold, so I had the fan off. I now just have the ducting going outside the tent but not outside. Fan is on and temps are stable, smell is down, and It's helped lower the humidity too. Should have done it a long time ago. I've been so lazy this grow. I pulled Trainwreck apart somewhat so light can get to the lower buds. Fruit Punch I defoliated some a couple days ago after I figured she was done budding. Since then she's exploded with more bud. Pulled her apart some too. The Cream Caramel runt has a strange top with like 5 buds all on the same level instead of being pyramid shaped.

Day 53 for Trainwreck and Purple Kush. Not sure when they started to flower but probably around day 21 or so. So maybe 32 days in flower? Cream Caramel and Fruit Punch are several weeks younger than their older sisters. Original estimates was that Trainwreck would harvest around Christmas, Purple Kush around New Year's.

Dam are you meaning the cream and the punch are several weeks younger than the trainwreck an the purple kush? Well either way those look stellar great job bro. Question do u have a climate controlled room u grow in? Cause I wana know why I cant get my autos to turn out this good in soil. The only way I've gotten autos to go over an oz is with hydro.

@Blazinjones It's far from climate controlled. The tent is in a walk in closet in a spare bedroom. The house is kept 68 in the winter and 76 in the summer, so those are normally my lights out temps. Lights on add around 6 degrees. No humidity control. Normally runs somewhere around 60-65%. These girls are a disappointment compared to the last auto grow of Fastbuds Blue Dream and Dutch Passions Brooklyn Sunrise. Those yeilded me 18.5 oz for 4 plants. What I'm finding is that you really have to have good genetics when it comes to autos. I've grown a lot of Sweet Seeds stuff and the best I've had is 3.5 oz off a Trainwreck. This one won't meet that. Most of their other strains seem to produce small plants that are in the area of 1.5 oz. Then you'll catch a few runts that only net you a half ounce, like this Cream Caramel. After I finish this out. I think I'm done with Sweet Seeds. Plan on looking at more Fastbuds and Dutch Passion strains because they really impressed me with size and strength. I've had good luck with Dinafem in the past so I don't have any problem using them again. If you're getting runty autos, maybe it's the genetics rather than you.

Was gonna grow some mystery photo seeds for the next grow but ordered some Fastbuds Gorilla Glue and Girl Scout Cookies seeds yesterday from The Vault, so I guess they are on the docket now.

I got some of there gorilla glue autos from fast buds as well an each time I grew them they grew huge the one time It got so huge it got bud rot. But tht was cause the bud was like the size of a football. But all were huge yielders.

@SamSmith I have a dream... To quit my job and grow full time in a legal country. Pretty sure I could get the financial backing to set up a good sized growing facility from private sources. Until the feds do something, banking is a big issue for those who are in, or want in, to the industry.

I totally agree on the banking system being a huge hurdle in the industry but I fear that big money (alcohol and tobacco) corps are going to rule the roosts if it does happen in the US. I can see that with the medical licensing in my state now. I think that like micro brews have become the popular choice with beer drinkers the boutique cannabis market will always be there for top shelf bud. That is where the little guy can get a foot in the door. All we can do is hope.

I would be happy with a small legal home grow. I visited Colorado and they have their act together with the way they have it set up. A few other states have reasonable laws as well.

@farside05 DAMNNNN! Just hopped over to check some of your stuff out.... man that looks awesome! Going to be reading all your stuff tomorrow for sure! Plan to pick your brain, hopefully you don’t mind! Awesome purple man! Geez that looks mesmerizing!

Thanks. The last grow was better than these actually. Low temps at the start of the grow slowed things down and that's a no no with autos. Plus the genetics on the seeds were much better on the last vs current. The Step by Step thread (link in signature) might be a decent one for you since I documented things quite well in it. At least up till harvest.

See the Tab called AN Study Results? From the data I culled from their tissue samples, and in turn put into my spreadsheet, it shows that the average (well at least from the 3 strains tested) cannabis plant had a ratio of 7-1-5 in the veg phase and 5-1-5 in the bloom phase. Now these are plant numbers, not bottle numbers, so you have to adjust for the actual availability to the plant from the fertilizer. Below is an excerpt from one of my favorite artilces on the subject:

"Also, P and K percentages shown on fertilizer packages are not the actual amount of P or K in the blend. The percentage of P on the package is the percentage of P2O5 (phosphorous pentoxide) and you need to multiply the percentage shown by .43 to get the actual amount of P in the fertilizer. Similarly, the K level percentage shown is actually the level of K2O ( potassium oxide) and must be multiplied by .83 to arrive at the actual amount of K supplied."

Short story (probably all you cared about in the first place, lol) I'm shooting for something more like 3-1-3 in a soil-less medium like Pro-Mix or Coco Coir.

I just had to develop an analytical procedure to measure the amount of actual useable Phosphorus in fertilizer for my chemistry class. It was a year ago and I already forget but yeah it was definitely breaking down compounds and titrating with a burrett....anyway...doesn’t matter...I’m digging your style though! Ok I’m done fanboying over your posts for the day...ttyl

Yep, I'm that kinda geek.
