Farmlite?

Wow! I’m blown away. Let me start by saying that I am the most meticulous person when it comes to making a purchase like this. I am completely surprised. This light is so much better and higher quality well built than what I was expecting. It looks bright enough and a good spectrum. My plants seem to like it so far. If this thing is as good as what I’m looking at rn like as long as it last a decent time then I don’t know why anyone would ever buy anything else. This thing is the definition of bang for your buck and I will definitely be getting more. Also I am not paid by anyone I purchased the light and hooked it up. This is strictly from a consumers stand point

The cryptic description of the driver now makes sense. It is a shinzhen driver. They are a well known leading manufacturer of drivers in china. Most of your "household" LED fixtures and small LED grow lights use them. They may have a shorter life span of a $200 mean well driver but they are around $70 to replace.

Installed similar 150wat grow lights in a beauty shop behind diffusers because they wanted bright true color on a budget, for hair dying. They stay on 24/7 and 3 years latter they still work.

Oh yeah. The spectrum is more towards the red and I have been putting what’s flowering under it. It’s almost immediate response, they perk up as soon as they get there. So I have two vipar lights with 301b that are amazing in veg.

Curious what you paid for it.

How many true watts is it?
I didn’t see where you asked the price lol duh anyways I got it off Amazon for around 170$. I was blown away by the quality and the performance. I’m going to be getting another one the next time I size up. Speaking of I just ordered a 8x4 ft tent that I’m going to assemble in this room Thursday. I’ll be posting some pics and stuff after I’m done I’m sure

they are about the same level as a moon or pairu driver. they'll throw a little more heat than the equivalent mean well.

Driver is now powertalk.

i wouldn't say there is anything all that wrong with any of the drivers mentioned. i have a rig with a moon driver i'm eventually gonna mod for dimming before i run it.

mean well is industry standard but you pay for it. it can add a lot to the cost. the brand sells above delivery plenty of the time.

that said i'm pretty loyal to the brand lol

only on the metal body elg and hlg series though. elg series is often cheaper than the equivalent hlg and is a better driver depending on how you set the rig up for dimming. of course mean well pushes the pricier hlg ...

the juson, the moon, and pairu are all pretty decent and easy to source if needed. if something fails it's also not hard to swap drivers out if you know the wiring. they won't break wallets if you have to do it either. you can also interchange them if needed.

i'd be really really surpised if you get less than 5 yrs out of them.

Everything was great quality.
They took lmb281b+ and under powered them to get more efficiency like migro did.

there's an industry safety standard. most don't under power less than that. it's pretty deep already, something like 50%.

the harder the emitters get driven the less they live. heat kills them eventually. with dimming i never go above 90% full. the 10% head room will make the rig last twice as long with no real change in potency or finish weight.

i also always stuff as much rig into the space as i can. i overlight the space and use dimming.

edit: i also love the strip rig architecture like yours has. best way to distribute light evenly.

Good deal.
It draws exactly 333w im planning on maxing between 250-300w.
After 5 years this is probably obsolete like cmh and cobs.
For under 200 retail it's killer deal.
If they made it a bit longer, provide the extention for external driver like in their pic it, and made a par map for 4x2, maybe reduce the max to 300w from 320w and it would market much better.

35 to 50w per sq/ft is the often quoted number to shoot for. more to the thinner side nowadays as tech efficiency has increased.

the importance of coverage and penetration hasn't changed though, and are often an achilles heal on many rigs. i always shoot for wall to wall lighting. if i have a 4x4 i try to stuff a light recommended for 5x5 and use the dimmer. good rule of thumb is always go one size up higher on the light than the space is.

lol. my main rigs are cob rigs i built. i used to build and sell rigs locally, and repair them.

i have a couple others but keep going back to it as i like the flower bias i built them to. it's a mix of 3000k and 3500k.

dollar for watt is less than half of what it was even 5 yrs ago.

you want the higher number always. you can probably mod the driver to remote it if necessary.

i never run my drivers remote, but i use the heat to my advantage. i do winter grows often in heat challenged spaces. i also build all my flower spaces with active exhaust direct to outdoor as well for environment control. you can make it work to your advantage.
