FTFY, lol!
I haven't been able to find the manual focus.
My real camera is an old 45mm Minolta, and it's a bit of a hassle to transfer the pics to the computer.
I also only know how to process black and white film. I have some of what I need to setup a darkroom, but the "room" part is a bit of an issue.

It's harder to get now. There's still a company that makes black and white film...or there was last time I checked.
I actually haven't been able to buy any for a while, since I don't have a place to process it. Need to get new trays and a couple more chemicals too, if I want to make prints.
I do have a functional enlarger though, so I do hope to get back to it someday. It's mostly considered a hobby now, though there's still some space for film photography in art circles.

Day 8
I adjusted the white balance today. They still look a little lighter than in person, but at least the perlite is white again.
They were fed yesterday with 1.5g/litre MC, and .25g/litre mag nitrate, but the res was full of plain water and a few diluted trickles of nutes, so it'll take at least another feeding before what's in the res is at full strength.

Still has her inner ear issue.

Are you noticing anything different from the hempy vs soil? Faster, slower or the same? CL🍀

I love those old cameras, esp my old Pentax K1000 50mm f1.4
I set up my darkroom with planks over the bathtub lol
I wish I could do that here. Honestly, I probably could if I just put in more effort.
When I get the other supplies I need I'll start to push at it a bit. See where that gets me.
I think I'll also look into getting a better camera app. This one is okay for average social media posting, but something closer to the real thing would probably come in handy.

Sprouting is faster, seedlings are slower until they find the res, and then they explode. Watering is faster too. I don't have to wait for it to absorb, or worry that the media has become hydrophobic. I still try to water the entire surface, but others have just poured it in one spot without any ill effects. I'll be topping this time, and adapting my training to it.
I can still use the skewers to direct the top branches, but I may have to go back to bulldog clips and gardening wire for the lowers.
Or maybe I'll copy @Trala and use rocks as weights.

Day 9
I'm pretty happy with conditions in the tent right now. We're staying around 26⁰C with 40% Rh during lights on, and 22⁰C with 55% Rh lights off.

Hey @Melville Hobbes, just caught up. Glad I’m not terribly late. Looking good so far! Interesting grow idea. Be curious to see the comparison. Also curious to see how they do in that straight perlite. Cool. Thanks.

Olympus for me if I had to pick a face old school dhaped canera. Leica too fancy.

& Co just let me takenover her shallow water hydro grow - sorta!

I’ve wanted to grow in pute perlite for an age. I think even moving her from the kitchen counter and adding some Cal-Mag it might well be too late for this one though - but kets see.

Welcome Jon!
I have a couple more of these planned. GG #4, GSC, and Glookies, and Gelato, Zkittlez, and Runtz. I might do a couple more as well, but I'd have get seeds for them as I have some crosses where I have one of the parents, but not the other.
Some have more difficult logistics though.
For example, I have Blueberry, and Blue Dream, and not Haze. But even if I did, there's little chance I could grow them together given their characteristics. And given how fast Blue Dream grows in soil, can you imagine what it would do in a hempy?
Of course if I could get Northern Berry seeds, Blueberry and Northern Lights are on my redemption grow list.

Looks better than some I've seen come back from the brink.
I'm glad you're giving her a chance!

When do they leave the perlite?

When do they leave the perlite?
Hi Nile!
They leave it when I harvest!
I'll be transplanting them into bigger pots (8 litres) when their roots fill those starters, but those will be filled with perlite as well.

8L is a huge size for a hempy indoor. 2L hempys produce plants about the same size as 20L soil. i only ever grow in 2L or 5L buckets, anything else is a waste of perlite and nutes.

Ahh. I was going with something you said before, that 1 litre hempy = 1 gallon soil.
I've mostly used 7 gallon pots indoors for soil grows, after I switched to fabric.
One question, I had a lot of roots poking out of the perlite, and out the drain hole in the 4 litre pots I used for the first hempy experiment, was I wrong in thinking that meant they wanted more room?

roots will go where the water takes them.

for comparison this was my last grow of five 5L hempys

full

i lost nearly 2/3s to bud rot and still wound up at 12 ounces left over when done.

Interesting let’s see how this works 👍

i find the small wastebasket sizes at the dollar store to be useful.

a 7 gallon pot is the same size as an office waste bucket, i used to run soil grows in that size. they were popular because they are square, making them easy to fit more plants in an area.

Looks so very lush!

As for bud rot, lately I have been operating on a bud density/cu. ft. theory where, no matter how good the ventilation, temperature and humidity control, there is a point where too much of a good thing invites bud rot, and have started to cut down on the number of colas I grow in my space.

The pots I got are smaller than the plastic wastebaskets they had, except for the mesh ones. Other than that there were only metal ones.
Stock fluctuates though, so they may have something better now. If not I can either just use what I have, since I already have the perlite and several kg of MC, or get some soda water and have some cocktails :D
