Extending veg time on purpose

Hello, due to my error, im in my 9th week of veg, i really tryed my damndist to kill these plant but with some flushing and lowering lite intensity, they came back……yay.

They are short and stout, and while bud sites are improving i was beating myself up for taking so long, and then i thought….what the hell is my hurry, i got plenty of buds….slow down!

Have you ever extended a veg period on purpose

Doing perpetual grows, you are always juggling veg times and flower times
Growing photo. Plants. There are no set times on how long veg can go.
You could keep a mother plant indefinitely if you wanted to

Lots of time older mature plants produce bigger buds

I flipped them when they were ready or I thought I needed to do to space concerns during stretch, but never by a calendar. You can veg them for years, as many do with Mothers they decided to keep. Longer you go harder to take cuttings is all, or you end up root bound as that is usually the case if you go longer times vegging.
Also quit beating ya self up and just learn as you go w/o the stress, kinda defeats the whole purpose of growing something to relieve stress 😉 as there is a learning curve to it like everything in life, ya gotta screw up in order to do it right sometimes as it doesn't magically happen very often the first go 😉

Veg time is up to you ;)

Two things to consider, grow until you see alternating fan leaves. This indicates a mature plant ready to flower.

Or go by size. Consider when flipping to flower the plant can easily double in height.

Doesn't matter how old the plant is, let it grow until it reaches your max estimated height and flip it....

Cheers

I extend my veg time as long as I can and not have vertical space issues.
They are harder to bend/pull down trying to get out of your lights when they are older and have woody stalks too 😉 And then the dreaded got heavier faster than you thought and you didn't stake em down fast enough and one top flopped over

At the woody stage, it’s High Stress Training!!

I had a Panama Red top dive over, pinched stem real bad, I left it to see what happened. It still matured, it just didn't grow as big and it threw more fall colors out on part above the bend (bud going sideways more reddish and finished faster as smaller):

That whole grow went wild  forget what strain that was next to it:
