Exploring the Microscopic World of Trichome Photography

Ok so played with photo stacking for the first time.

Will put a little more effort into lighting and background next go around.

Here is one of the images used for the stack

Here is the result
You're doing great! I have fun with stacking, it's always a good feeling to see the final result. :)

That's a damn fine first crack at it! :welldone:

Also, in case anyone was wondering how the new mic clip works, here's a pic of it:

It's definitely more stable than electrical tape!

Morning Shed :)

I have a glitter close up thingy like that one but my stand is shite.

Where did you get that one?

And what’s great about that mic holder is that it will clip onto a phone :) that’s how I did that photostack. Just took a little messing with to get it to work

I just use an old mic stand I had from when I used to play in bands:

It's nowhere near as stable as a tripod but I can reach it into places a scope on a tripod won't reach.

[that's a pic from before I got the new clip]
Great idea.

And if the mood takes you, you can serenade them.

This little doober works great for holding stuff. Just tighten it onto a tripod stand or whatever. I have several of these, very adjustable.

@InTheShed I am pretty sure it’s the same mic holder that you showed :)

LOL I hadn't imagined that!
It works great as them you can focus easily on other parts of the subject.

Something that I’m going to mess around with is completely different lighting in each image as well and see what comes out of it. Those Gels Lady Canafan posted would be fun. But also to go from cool to warm lighting and from different angles without blowing it out too much.

I swear I need to find my damn camera bag!! I know it’s around here somewhere LOL

You'll find it when you're looking for something else.

My phone can do manual focus so I'll give that a try. Thanks Ke0ncp!

My camera bag is under my bed and probably has a few rolls of Tri-X in it along with the three bodies and four lenses. I wonder if any of them still work. :hmmmm:

I guess I should have mentioned that I also used my watch to control my camera app on my phone to actually take the pictures and then just tapped on the screen in 7 different spots to get focus all around the bud.
