DWC: The beginning

I gave up on rockwool and just put them straight into pebbles when I do seeds I use styrofoam and soil mix then rinse off the roots or use rapid rooters and thread the roots through the net pots and let the bubbles do the work I get bored and just try shit to see if it works
But yea if you do use rock wool get the water close as possible (without touching the rockwool) or it will drown them and slow you down I like the .5 to 2 inch and if it don't keep it moist you don't have big enough air pump

Yeah rapid rooters are much easier. No rinsing or ph'ing anything. Just chuck the seed in and wet it a bit. Works every time. I've even managed to get them to pop without wetting them a few times when they're fresh from the packet.
Full proof germing with those wee fellas :)

Cause my primary language is french so I don't understand every familiar words :p

So you germinate them and throw them into the netpot with clayballs ? not in the water directly ?

Yea clay balls or lava rock
Your doing good with your English I have trouble understanding to and I speak it haha but I say y'all and ain't to all the time alot of redneck words haha

And do you put the seeds directly into the water (clay balls merged) ? or you just let the water touch the netpot ?

No not the seeds I haven't tried that just once they get a tap root and a few baby leaves is when I do it

A few days after this picture is when I put them in the buckets I would of liked to wait longer but I was over watering them slowing them down I just rinsed all the dirt off and stuck then in
with rapid rooters drain better I needed alot more styrofoam in there was trying to get it to work like a rapid rooters buy it didn't work right

That's how they turned out after I about killed them with pH issues

you're growing them in the soil and then put it into coco for DWC ? how do you remove the soil from the roots to put them back in the bucket with water ?

Not in coco but Barney has me wanting to try it just very very carefully shake what you can off then rinse with water if there is a little bit of dirt left on them I don't worry about it but if you are recirculating might want to get it all off also don't want to leave enuff to hold any water will cause problems

Yes rooters or rockwool is better because you don't have to take that chance of braking them there's so many ways to do it just find what you like I work with clones most of the time so I don't start many seeds but when I do I try to be careful because of how many plants I can get out of it

In veg is faster but you can clone a flowering plant best time is when there growing good

start a journal il help what I can I really like dwc fast results once you get it dialed in and the old saying less is more se if that makes sense in translation just like racing they said slow down to go faster

Little update about my ladies

I added FloraMicro, FloraGro and CaliMagi at the time i'm writing this post.

The pH is 5,7 and the PPM is about 300.

Humidity is 40% and temp is 27 C.

Here is some pics, I find that it takes a little but long to grow , it is normal?

The third one is smaller cause the roots still around the netpot, how I can get them out?

Sounds about right on ppm the one that the roots Havent came out yet make sure you rock wool is not touching the water it will wick it up and cause them to be slow coming out if it's nice and wet maybe drop your water level a little and make them reach for it

Hi have a inch or so of pebbles in net then rock wall cube I put system on so the splashes from the water help draw roots down mine took aroun a week to hit the water

Leave about inch and half gap from pot to water so cube don’t get soaked

OK I'm gonna watch it if I don't put too much water. I didn't know that the rockwool cubes DO NOT need to touch the water.

I'm gonna keep you guys updated, I start 4 but 1 died so 3 remaining :)

How much I can yield with a 900W LED light in DWC ?

And I wondering why all my ladies has never being taller than 2 feet (2' 1/2) ?

Don’t let rock wall touch water it will end up drowning plants as for yield really can’t say but your do well just keep Ec and ph reading right
