Is a powerhead the same as a circulation pump? Been considering an o2 emitter but they are not cheap.

IDK. Well, it does that, within the reservoir, I suppose. Pumps up from the bottom and out the front (often there's an adjustable deflector there), with a little hose that sucks air in via Venturi effect and injects it into the flow. Removable tube can be cut to length (if necessary) and stuck onto the bottom, to draw from lower in the reservoir (or to connect to an undergravel filter if used for the intended purpose, lol).

@TorturedSoul Thanks! I'll take a look at the root ball on my next res change (Monday). She only has about 6 gallons in the tote right now. Do you think we really need to circulate it with a res this small?

I circulate only because I use a chiller. But I dont think at that size you would need to circulate provided you have sufficient disturbance through aeration.

@TysonOG we're running a Tetra Whisper AP 300 connected to 2 6" air discs so hopefully that is enough. We don't open the lid in the tent because the bubbles get everything wet from that pump.

@TorturedSoul True true, i don't know why i keep saying circulation.
