DWC Hydroponic - Indoor - Autoflowering Narcotherapy - 2015

So, I cut off a few popcorn nugs, but now I'm not sure how to dry them. My oven only goes down to 170, and I think TCH activates around 120? Grrrr. Now, what? lol

I saved the leaves in a freezer bag for making bubble hash.

Also, had to put another 6 gallons of water in today after putting in 6 gallons two days ago - the PPM was over 2300. These thing are just sucking up the liquid right now.

That was 6.9 g wet. I put it on a piece of tin foil on top of my stove under where the hot air from the oven vents. I put the oven on 200. So, it's got some pretty humid, hot air blowing over it. *shrug*

#fingersCrossed

Oh, the smell! It was sweet and fruity - really pretty smell.

I put that little bit in a toaster oven I found in my basement - it's a convection oven, so it has a lot of airflow - put it in at 150 with the door cracked and stirred every few minutes until it was reduced to 30% original weight. Tastes like ... well ... the south end of a donkey but that's to be expected like this.

I cut another 10g off a second plant and put in paper bag in the grow room.

I forgot to describe the high. It's obviously very cerebral since it's so early - I got the nose tickles on the third hit, which I consider to be a great sign. I hear as if there's cotton balls in my ears right now, and the anxiety which has been building to a crescendo the last four or 5 days without my meds has evaporated entirely, and my uterus no longer feels like it is trying to claw its way out of my body, and the ice pick boring a hole in my brain has been removed. It's not as strong as I would have liked, and I probably won't grow this particular strain again. It's just not really got a lot of trichome production - for the energy expended to produce it, I'd rather go with something more frosty, but I am definitely going to enjoy this until the next batch grows up. Although not as strong as I would have liked, it is significantly stronger than the garbage I've been forced to buy up until now, so it's all good.

Just noticed the one ridiculously tall plant was burning. I took off 30g (wet) of crispy buds. I am not happy that my light is smoking my produce. tee hee

On the bright side, at least I'll have something to smoke in a day or two - stuck the buds in a paper sack in the grow room and the leaves in the freezer.

There are a handful of kids - well they're not kids any more really, in their early 20s now - who drop by to say hey sometimes. My son's friends tend to adopt me. I had 2.5g of the early stuff I cut and dried in the toaster, and I shared it with 2 of them who stopped by last night to check on me. We only smoked half of it, and they were toasted. I think that's a good sign. Usually it's a 4 or 5g evening when they visit. LOL

They think the grower is a friend of mine. They're so cute. *giggle*

So close! pH in this tank was under 5 today. I'm not sure I want to try to bring it up. The PPM is at 1400 again, so I expect to be adding clear water today or tomorrow to bring it down again, and that should bring the pH up right. *shrug*

I'm not sure why my pH is so low now - after struggling to keep it under 6.5 the last 2 months, it's now wanting to be at or just under 5. Go Figure.

The larger, oldest leaves are showing signs of serious stress. Yellowing, spotting, wilting, dieing. I don't know if this is the plant sucking out their nutrients for flowering or from them drinking all the water in the reservoir leaving the nutrient solution way too highly concentrated each night. (I've been adding about 5 gal clear water every day because the PPM is over 2000 in the mornings.)

At least one of these plants will be ready to come down in 7 days. Maybe two of them. The third looks about a week behind, and the fourth looks about 2 weeks behind.

I finally put my finger on the smell - it's like rainbow sherbet.

I notice people are trimming lots of leaves off their plants in some of the other journals - I wonder, now that the first harvest is approaching, should I be trimming leaves off beforehand?

Hi GrowChick!

You have yourself a very well established and clean set up! Im gonna take a seat and spectate from here on out if you don't mind

To answer your question about removing leaves, the only reason I remove leaves at this time in flower is to eat them. Other then that, they stay. Leaves are beneficial to your grow by providing your plant with food and energy. If you remove them now, the plant will waste unnecessary time repairing those spots when it should be focusing on bud production.

I hope that kind of answers your question!

Can't wait to see you finish up!

I'm really glad you're here - and you got here at just the best time - nearly ready to harvest!

Yeah, I'm not a fan of cutting things off my plants unless I have to. I did go take off the leaves which had crispy bits and were very light yellow. I think the plant has gotten all she can from those, now.

Yea I take off the shriveled up yellow ones too. Typically they fall off before I pull them off. But for photo purposes I try and take all the shriveled ones off.

I love harvests!!! Can't wait to see you reap the benefits of your work.

I have a few harvests on the way too! We can enjoy the process together!

Well, the pH continues to plummet. I find that so incredibly odd given the struggle of the last 55 days to keep it down. It was 4.5 this morning. I took out about 2.5 gallons and replaced it with 5 gallons clear water.

Also, there was some slimy stuff in my res. I think I may have cooked up some primordial ooze in there or something. I pulled a bunch out - it was pretty much like papery snot. A few more months and it might have crawled out of the sea and evolved into a platypus or something.

I can't believe I get to pick a plant this week. I'm so excited.

So, not being able to see really well, the little jeweler's loupe just isn't cutting it for me to see my trichomes.

Orderered a Carson zOrb USB Digital Microscope with 53x Optical Zoom from amazon. It will be here today, so expect lots of microscopic pictures later! ha

I need a time lapse camera now. roflmao

Oh my gosh a new microscope?!?! You lucky girl!

I have a similar problem with my res. I find that PH goes up all by itself. I've learned to keep my lid on. I find more often than not, when my lid is off the water gets cloudy and the PH goes up. I'm sure you clean it out weekly or so, eh?

I'm excited to see you chop chop!!

I haven't actually drained this res yet - I added it to the garden at half way through the grow, so it's only been there about 4 weeks. I have an aeroponic counter garden in my kitchen which I don't have to change out water in but every 6 to 8 weeks, so I kinda thought I could get by without changing the garden water out but every 4 weeks. I might need to be doing it every 2 weeks. I was being cheap and trying to conserve on nutrients.

I never cleaned mine out much either until I started having more plants I've used a lot more water and found that the more often it's changed out the better quality it is.

We'll get it figured out!
:passitleft:

I have to keep remembering that the whole reason I did these auto plants was to remember and relearn how to do it so I won't make silly mistakes once I get things set up to keep a mother and be making clones and going perpetually!

It's all one big lesson. I'm learning new things everyday. Literally, everyday. It's why I keep coming back. Oh and the people are great!

We'll get you goin and get a flood of quality herb overfilling the cupboards!
