Dutty Panty's Adventures in High Brix Budland

Hey doc as soon as pay pal post my money they had no problem taking it from my bank I'll pay up. Invoice is for pumpkin foliar spray and bug spray?

Also didn't look but my tent should show up Saturday or Monday. I ordered the gorilla 5x5 for those two p600. My question is are they 110 haven't looked yet. And what's the average heighth you keep yours from top of canopy.

Ringo uh I guess his kids a Lil better. Actually for that matter Jason bonham is technically better than his pops. But not near the stage presence I also like
Matt sorum
Ginger baker
Tommy lee

My overall favorite is Matt Cameron I mean dude plays with pearl Jam and sound garden jesus.

Watts is great stones are epic.

Another great is levon helm

I totally agree RE Levon Helm I'm not a Ginger Baker fan.

Technical excellence is less important than feel and sound to me. I can pick out a track Ringo plays on instantly, no matter who he is playing with. He's got a certain timing and feel. His kid is far more accomplished technically, but lacks that unique "feel." IMO!

One of my old college friends whom I smoked a ton of weed with until I quit is a well respected drummer/drum teacher now. He's actually made the cover of Modern Drummer at least once that I know of. We used to smoke Colombian....occasionally got this new "Indica" stuff we'd heard about, but mostly Colombian and Thai, and we'd listen to one track after another and analyze the drumming or any other instrument for that matter, but mostly the drummer.

I learned a ton about drumming at that time, including the ultimate realization that I would never be that good....so I quit playing and focused my efforts elsewhere. But I never gave up listening and appreciating!

His favorite at the time was Max Weinberg....prior to his fame when he was merely Bruce's drummer and not on TV, etc.

Dutty, yes the P600+ are 110s..
many seem to keep lights at different heights..Mine are presently about 18" ave away form plants in SWICK tent. 8" from canopy in ACE tent, The Jungle.
:)

No love for Neil Peart? I'm no drummer but always thought he was pretty good.

It's all opinion of course, and you know what they say about opinions.... but I'm not a Neil Peart fan. He's Rush's drummer and makes their sound, but is kinda stiff, mathmatical and one-dimensional. Of course, I know people who totally disagree with what I just said!

I've never heard Peart play any music besides Rush, so I don't know what he's capable of doing. He doesn't really groove, IMO. He does have a sound and he is indispensable to Rush....but I don't feel his drumming on a visceral level.

Here's another...IMO....GREAT drummer. (notice I said drummer) Phil Collins.
Also Nigel Olsen, Nick Mason and Roger Taylor (queen).

Olsen is a monster, but always understated and in control. I saw him a couple years ago and was blown away.

Nick Mason....Pink Floyd. Nuff said. What a great minimalist sound and feel! Add Rudd, AC/DC's drummer to this category.

Roger Taylor is who I always thought should have replace John Bonham in Zeppelin, not Jason B. Taylor can beat the crap out of the kit like Bonham, has that same ever-so-slightly behind feel, and has brilliant cymbal timing and tuning.

Neal is great. Just not a huge rush fan.

Hey got to admit stole idea from 36Gr0ws thread he had one that said I don't always grow organic just kidding. Docs is as close to organic as I will be.

Josh freeze is unknown but an amazing session drummer. Played on stuff from rock all the way to weird stuff like Hollywood undead. Total fix it drummer.

Nice mention of Nigel Olsen that was Reggy Dwight's drummer right? How about Stewart Copeland? Don Brewer? <- not in the minimalist category but a performer Totally agree with Nick Mason. Alex Van Halen? This list could get boring there are so many.

Nigel still drums for Reg...;)

Copeland.....he's fine.
Brewer....not familiar with him!
Alex....he's fine.

There are so damn many! I am always drawn to the ones who did things first, and/or best.

Ringo: first drum fill ever on "with a little help from my friends" He defined modern rock drumming. He held down the best gig there ever was or ever will be in rock music.

Charlie Watts: a better drummer than Ringo and a far better drummer than most realize. He's absolutely fantastic, and a minimalist and a phenomenal jazz/big band player.

John Bonham: If Ringo defined modern drumming, Bonzo perfected it. Zepp couldn't really go on without him, or Page, or Plant. What a sound! What emotion. He gave everything he had every time he performed and NO ONE can quite nail down that sound he had, although a few come pretty close.

MIck Fleetwood: another one who is far better than many people realize. He plays all types of music and has impeccable timing and can lay down a sweet groove like none other. What a performer!

Those are my big 3. The rest sort of move up and down the list depending on what sort of mood I'm in.

Don Brewer was the drummer for Grand Funk Railroad his live performances were pretty good for the time. The Live album has a tune called T.N.U.C. where he just beats the shit of those things for about 7 minutes or something crazy the old drummer solo thing :)

Wow couldn't be happier what transpired here today being a second generation drummer. Every drummer mentioned is amazing surprised no one brought up Don Henley huge dick but great talent.

Like someone previously said this could go on for days. So now let's focus on guitar players that should be much less debated lol.

Jimi

Many many others

Also here's a quick few posts to Ponder first will be two smoke reports of not fully cured high brix Dutch versus house and garden I'll start with my main trimmer.

Ok so this isn't blind.
His direct response.

"much much much more mellow. Just tastes cleaner"

Me: ok does it taste like Dutch?

Him: no not really.

Me: like what? Donuts?

Him: no just like marshmelloy air

Me: so taste like marshmallows?

Him: no just light! Not over bearing

Me: so is it as potent as Regular? Over bearing?

Him: no idea if it's potent you had me take 3 dabs and multiple taste tests how in the hell could I tell. I'm just saying it's not to over the top like Dutch sometimes that taste is just to much for some.

Wife's blind taste test.

Me: here is a and b tell me which tastes better that's it and describe.

Wife: tastes smooth nice

Me: ok here's b

Wife:"giggles" whats the difference?

Me: we will see.

Wife: well thats Dutch! what was the first ?

Me: Dutch in that high brix stuff. What was the main difference?

Wife: first tasted cleaner not like Dutch at all, Dutch is very pine tasting. Also the Dutch tasted much more hot kinda crackling!

Interesting she points out the crackling it's been flushed well and that no one has pointed out yet. I'm waiting for 2 new pipes and longer cure for my test.
