Dutchman's Auto Quads Vs LST With A Critical+2.0 Twist!

I agree and yes you are right! PEa2 is ready but I will be leaving CCa1 a little while longer for her to finish out!
LOL, now I'm confused. You already chopped CCa1 or CCa2? Your most recent trich pics are labelled CCa2, but now looking at your harvest picks you say those are CCa2, so maybe the trich pics are actually CCa1? :hmmmm: Believe it or not, I'm not even high yet so I don't really have an excuse. LOL

Oh man did I ever message up lol! Good eye beez!

Ok so for clarification...

PEa2 is ready for harvest she’s in the dark room.

CCa2 was harvested already and hang drying.

CCa1 quadline are the Trichome pictures from today that I mislabeled being stoned AF lol!! My apologies everyone! CCa1 will remain for a little while still.

PEa1 quadline is also still going to be going for a little while.

Sorry for any confusion and thanks @BeezLuiz for helping me clarify that lol

Lmao, no rosin until after your updates! ;)

I concur. I smoked some Blueberry Muffin last night - love it! :Rasta:

Btw, I'm currently high (on Cookies), so your posts now make more sense. ;) jk

Thanks for the positive feedback Penny! I’m really looking forward to seeing how this grow turns out compared to my first Autoflowers! We should see some huge improvements along the way!

Thanks a bunch Ase and seeing first hand what you mean by that is very exciting and an awesome learning perspective. It shows me for future quads what to look for before topping and when you have a strong plant it won’t be slowed down by the process of topping or removing the nodes.
Just like this quad but I cut a branch off in the top attempt oops

Sorry bout blowing it up dutch

March 5

Hello Hello everybody!! Whats goin on and happy tuesday! Ive got lots of stuff to tell you about today so without delay lets get to it!

CCa2 is hanging and drying nicely in my drying box. I will probably be jarring her by the end of the week.

CCa1 has matured well over these past few days and after zooming in and getting a closer inspection of her trichomes she is further along than I thought. I have noticed most of her pistils have changed now and she has slowed right down on water consuption so ive decided tomorrow will be her final day. I will place her into darkness tomorrow morning for 24hrs and then chop and harvest her. Here are some trichome shots for you all to see and make sure im not crazy!!!

Now speaking of harvesting and darktime I have been placing all my autos into 24hrs of darkness before I chop. Why? no particular reason ATM but I am doing a comparison on my criticals which should help me decide from here on out how I harvest and hopefully lend you all a hand in deciding if its worth it for you or not!

Whats the comparison you might ask? Well ive been reading more about dark periods and I have been wondering if its really worth it. Some say 24-48hrs others swear by 72hrs of darkness before a chop. Maybe you guys have some thoughts or input? Anyways my intended plan is going to be this...

Come harvest day on the criticals. One of them I will pull out cut down wash and hang as per my normal routine but the other I will place into a 72hr dark period before cutting and washing to hang dry. Now what im hoping to learn is what does this actually do if anything?? Ive read it helps terpene profiles, and the star of chlorophyll breakdown quicker because of the extended dark period. Honestly Im interested to find out if indeed there is a bonus to this dark period or if its just an added waste of time to your harvest.

Anyways... Back to the update! I was actually surprised when I was inspecting all the plants this morning and noticed how heavy PEa2 was. She hasnt been drinking I found out and taking a closer look at her buds I have found her to be mature enough to make the call! I have placed her into my 2x2 for 24Hrs of dark before harvesting tomorrow. Her buds are frosty and shes got a sweet pleasant smell to her right now. Im excited to try my first ever Pineappe Express! Here is a few photos of her buds and trichomes today before I placed her into the darkness.

PEa2 isnt there yet though. Shes got lots of white pistils still and is drinking quickly. She has been bulking up nicely over the past week and Im confident she will strongly outweigh her sister PEa2. Heres a few bud shots of her today hanging out in the tent.

Alrighty then... that sums up the autos so lets talk about these lovely Critical ladies for a minute!

They both needed a feeding:morenutes:today so in a gallon of distilled water I mixed up:

-5mL CalMag
-8mL Bloom A + B
-8mL BudCandy
-8mL OverDrive - First Time

So this was the first time I added Overdrive to the critical ladies. This is a late phase bloom booster so im hoping to see a bunch of bulking and fattening over the next few weeks until they are ripe and ready for harvest! Ill leave you with a few bud photos from today when I was watering and a little video to go along with it as well if you feel like something extra!!

Enjoy and Stay Medicated! :hookah:

Critical+2.0 Flower Day 45

Nice little critical video there Dutch! I never got into doing the videos but maybe I'll do one for my Tangerine Dream sometime. Keep up all the great growing and journaling. It's always a good time when I read your updates.

Rust spots on the leaves are probably calcium deficiency, and when there's also yellowing between the veins it's magnesium. Cal-mag is how we handle both of those unless you can source them separately.
Also phosphorus def can be confusing to some that may see it as cal deficiency

Well , phosphorus me and iti recogn is more looks like somewhat of patches or blotches . But can go rusty after too but start brown ?

I'm not sure that's true of all nutes, but it is definitely true of cal-mag. A number of growers here (Penny included) stopped using RO water because of all the good things it was taking out.

Always good to start low, but I'd bump it up with each feeding as this is an auto and the clock is ticking toward pistils.
What about 50/50 tap to distilled best of both and allows more nutrients room ?

SOOO Beautiful tricomes! They looks just delicious. :Rasta:Cannot wait the final harvest update!
Thanks Sara! I’m excited to see them all down and in jars and I can’t wait for a smoke test and some rosin pressing!

Thanks Ase! I would love to see a video of your tangerine to! That would be sweeeeet! I appreciate the kind words and I hope your well!

Seems like a lot of work lol.

I guess I up my bloOm Base not micro as it contains today much nitro 2-0-0 and my bloom is 1-3.4 If not mistaken advanced nutrients ph perfect.

I always mix to the gallon as well.

I have started to up bloom
And now ppm in is 550-600 my two is 160-170 guess I need more food but thing is coco it’s daily so less is more to me.

March 6

What’s going on everyone! Quick little update for yea today. I was pretty busy this evening so I didn’t get to put together the update I wanted but here’s a glimpse at what I got up to!
The last 2 autos are looking good! The quadlines are both left oddly enough!
From the looks of it both quadline plants will outweigh the others. PEa2 got cut washed and placed in bags in the fridge! I’m trying the low and slow method for this girl to see how she turns out. Few pictures from the chop party today!

She was extremely stinky like heavy gas and you guessed it Pineapple! Frost levels were great and I’m excited to see how the low and slow drying method keeps those terps!! If it works out well then I may be putting my mini fridge to use for all my future drying haha!!

Alrighty now these critical beauties absolutely loved their first feeding of OverDrive yesterday! They exploded with growth and some new pistils! Girth up and frost out my lovelies!! (insert evil laughter!)
I missed the day 45 Heavy Defoliation so I will be proceeding with that tomorrow. This is to target and remove any remaining fanleaves blocking Budsites for the final week(s) of development and to basically open her up to allow these nice big colas some good airflow! I’ll be sure to post some before and after of the process as always! Until tomorrow though I’ll leave you with a few bud shots from today!

Enjoy and Stay Medicated!
